Very disappointed oath taking. Oh bhai you are not a khalandra khilari anymore. You're a PM of 22 crore people. That pocket thing was very embarrassing; I can expect such thing from someone from a downtrodden area like Usman Buzdar, but you are a groomed person, you should have rehearsed these thing. The man really needs a personal assistant and hope he gets one now..

IK sons i understand were not there because he didn't allowed but what about his sisters and their families? I was unable to find them

None of them were invited. Jemima was a bit upset on twitter, his sons wanted to come be he refused.

Except Chief of Army's wife, spouses and family members were not invited. I guess IK wanted to lead by example.

I think he's taking the "keeping family out of politics" thing too far. There is absolutely no harm in inviting your family to an oath taking ceremony.

My theory is that he didn't invite his sons cause then he'd have to invite his daughter and that would be controversial and he wouldn't want her to feel left out so he opted not to invite any of them.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shahbaz Sharif is set to become the leader of the opposition in the country’s 15th National Assembly as 111 MNAs have nominated him for the slot.

Speaker Asad Qaiser told the house on Friday that he had received Mr Sharif’s nomination as the opposition leader signed by 111 members from the opposition benches.

The leader of the opposition will be notified on Monday.

While the Pakistan Peoples Party had abstained from voting for Shahbaz Sharif for the office of prime minister, it appeared that some PPP lawmakers had also recommended Mr Sharif as the opposition leader.

The PPP has a total of 43 MNAs.

The total strength of the PML-N in the house is 82 followed by the Mutahidda Majlis-i-Amal (15) and the Awami National Party (one).

The collective number of the three opposition parties is 98 and the support of 111 lawmakers to Mr Sharif indicated that some PPP members also supported his candidature for the slot of the leader of the opposition.

Even if cm punjab is a puppet, there must be a better person to lead. Being told by someone of what to say doesn't give a good impression.

He says that PTI wants a team running Punjab rather than a single person. That's why they have CM and deputy speaker from the South, and speaker and governor from the North. All four will work together rather than it being a one man show.

Looks like PTI won't be keeping governor as a ceremonial position.

CM Punjab is quite clearly a puppet, Imran will clearly be calling most of the shots. But I do wonder if it will be too much for him to handle between Federal, Punjab and KPK.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday nominated Raja Zafarul Haq as its opposition leader in Senate, according to sources.

A request has been submitted to Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani in this regard, sources added.

A day earlier, the PML-N decided to bring its opposition leader in Senate after Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) withdrew its support for Shehbaz Sharif for the post of prime minister.

National Party, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl) have extended support to PML-N in its bid to replace Sherry Rehman as the opposition leader, sources further said.

The PML-N chairman has previously served as leader of the house in Senate. Sherry Rehman was made Leader of the Opposition in the Senate in March 2018

Shehbaz was nominated as the prime minister candidate of the joint opposition which included the PML-N, PPP, MMA and ANP.

However, the PPP decided to abstain from voting in the PM election over reservations on Shehbaz being the candidate for prime minister. PPP leader Khursheed Shah had stressed that if the PML-N did not change its PM candidate then the PPP would make a decision accordingly.

if true what a poor decision because he doesn't have bijli in is home (which i highly doubt) and belongs to a poor area, i am pretty sure pti must have nazriati people from middle and lower middle class backgrounds then this lota.. there is something more to it.

This is shocking if true. This isn't the first time PTI have made an appointment without enough research. If this turns out to be true, it's best if they retract his name and propose someone clean like Yasmin Rashid, to hell with this quota policy, pick the most suitable candidate for goodness sake.

Zardari wants to be President so this will mean that he will be immune to all charges against him.

^This is a disaster. Twitter users should demand an explanation. PTI needs to take action ASAP. Verify whether the information is correct or not.

If True he is an unacceptable candidate for CM and should be dismissed.

Just about every channel is reporting this now. The worrying thing is that today is the deadline to submit nomination papers, so if they change the candidate, they need to do it right now I think.
 
Question: does Arif Alvi's nomination for presidency mean that he will have to give up his NA seat?

They didn’t overlook these chargers; they took him to the dry cleaners and washed his past crimes. He starts with a clean slate now and will ensure that he works with integrity and honesty.

This has been the explanation provided by PTI supporters for welcoming electables with colorful history.
 
This is what happens when you rely too much on guys like JKT and SMQ to give you advice on Punjab.

You end up making bad decisions.

JKT and SMQ are desperate to launch their sons as leaders in PTI in the future.

If these allegations are true, it irks to imagine him taking oath ... They need to fix this as soon as possible and bring someone decent. Just give it to Yasmin Rashid or Mian Aslam, I simply don't understand the logic of giving out positions based on quota even if they can't find a competent enough person for the position.

Besides, deputy speaker is from South Punjab, I don't see why giving CM'ship to someone like Yasmin Rashid would be a problem.
 
Go through with the CM election and then ask him to step down I guess.( Provided the charges are true)

For these important positions Imran Khan needs to look more at his nazryati base, not these two. These two are fine for the political stuff, but when it comes to governance, all top positions MUST go to genuine nazryatis.
