I think eng will win 4-1. Babar azam the leading run scorer. SSA imo will be the highest wicket taker.
 
Will be more competitive than people think, players are well rested and raring to go. 3-2 to England for me.

Top run scorer will be Fakhar Zaman or Babar.
Highest wicket taker will be Hasan Ali or Shaheen.

England to win 3-2 or 4-1. Pakistan is a good team when you are playing them in a one-off scenario like a knockout. The current team though does not have the ability to win a bilateral series against a top team. Which is fine by the way, as long as they can beat the same team in a WC game.
 
If it is anything better than 4 - 1 for England, Pakistan would have done very well!
 
Honestly, I don't think the result of this series will matter...
Even if we lose 5-0, the way our players are set up mentally, I doubt it will make a difference in the actual competition.
 
it's going to be 3-2 or 4-1 in favour of England, but come the big moment Pakistan are going to find that spark.
My Prediction is that Pakistan will have these results in this WC.
W vs India, WI, NZ, SL,Afg,BAN and SA
L vs Eng and Aus

If there is a KO game against ENG or SA Pak will most prolly win it. Against IND, AUS and NZ I feel it would be 50-50.

Semi-final's might be the biggest hurdle for US, if we are against a good side. My personal feeling is that if we reach the final, we are gonna win it.

PS: These predictions are all pretty much down to gut feeling and a lot of other factors, It worked for me when I said that Amir will score a 50 (that 73), Pakistan will defeat SA in WC'15 (by bowling them out cheaply). Abdur Rahman will score a 50 against SA and on numerous other occasions. Let's see how it pans out this time, I would like Pakistan to Win the trophy, in whatever manner they can.
 
Should be 5-0 England and voted for that but then I realised that there are a couple of day nighters so not sure anymore.
 
I want to see PAK avoiding 3-0 first, after that 3-2 or 5-0 doesn’t matter much.

PAK’s record in recent past in active rubber is quite poor, team needs to fix that. Once the series is over, Poms will rest their players, just like they did in the famous 5th game 2.5 years back.

I don’t see PAK avoiding 0-3 to be honest.

We competed well in the SA so i hope we manage to win 1 or 2 games. it's not all doom and gloom for us.

Pakistan could not dismiss the likes of Finch, Khawaja, etc. and there they will be bowling to Roy, Bairstow, Hales, Root, Morgan, Buttler, and Stokes.

Indeed. But my point is that team must stand firm when there is something at stake. In recent times (actually for long, apart from that CT2017), PAK have been missing too many "crunch moments" of a game, more so in deciders or when something at stake. At the end, at International level with just 10-12 teams playing seriously, the out come of a cricket game isn't about the reflection of skills only, rather how teams react to such crucial moments. This is one important aspect that Arthur failed to develop in this team - they'll crush substandard opponents mercilessly, but often finds a way to miss the tight battles marginally.

Even in SAF, indeed team played well & exceed my expectation of 1-4 (and we might ignore the squad used by SAF - they are always a good team at home regardless of who are playing or missing), still the worst part of that series for me was that a debutante with Andile of all people, chased a tough target comfortably with lot left at tank, from almost no hope situation, on a difficult wicket. This is the most crucial aspect to work on - be ruthless and opportunists. ENG series will give many such opportunities, because I believe Poms are a bit single dimensional and keeps a knot or two untied for their standards - they can be hurt through that loose gate if one can siege the opportunity.
 
4-1 to England. Our bowlers will stitch up a good spell in a one-off game and our batsmen will chase a low(ish) score in the last over.

Shaheen, Hasan weren't playing. The two main bowlers.
 
We have a full squad. England do struggle at home at times. After a disaster of a result against Australia and with players rested. They need to prove they are serious contenders for the World Cup. We have a good record playing in England and Pakistan need to prove they are not pushovers.

Strangely I do not doubt Pakistan's abilities. But I doubt their ability to win key moments.

I think more than Sarfaraz, it is Mickey who is the culprit - doesn't instill team with self belief. Pakistan team needs someone who can put fire under their bellies when they go out to the ground. They are missing that person.

This. Mickey used to do that earlier back in 2016 and 2017 but now I feel both him and Sarfraz have kind of slacked off and aren't really playing the leadership roles they are supposed to.

4-1 to England. Pakistan are rubbish in bilateral ODI's, one off games we can win as proven in 2017 CT but over 5 matches, we will get destroyed by England
 
England will beat us easily. 4-1 with us winning the last match when England experiment with their side.
 
Weather permitting I think England win 5-0 but therr will be. Some close games.

In WC final though, Pakistan will beat England and create history.
 
We have 4 games before the 1st ODI, I hope we can get our combination right by giving chance to all 17 players.

For the T20I, our team would definitely be:

Should easily be 5-0 for England with couple of 430+ score since Yasir will give at least 100 runs.

Yasir has a good chance of T20 debut since 2020 there is a T20 World Cup and Inzi may wants to select Yasir for the tournament.
 
Honestly I am hoping Pakistan lose 5-0. This is what we are best at getting pushed into the ground and then making a comeback to win in the world cup. Just like in 1992 world cup and then the huge loss to india in CT 17. So pakistanis actually start praying for a loss lol to kick our team into that high gear needed. #CorneredTigers

If Pakistan can win 1 ODI, that would be a result for them.

England should be disappointed if they cannot whitewash this side.
 
Let's hope Pak as a whole performs as otherwise it'll be tough to leave Malik out on his return.
 
Pakistan will need to tighten up in fielding and running between wickets uf they have to have any chance of winning
 
England will thrash Pakistan in the ODI series but I know where to place my bet when we meet them in a WC knock-out match.

Plenty of players have retired from shorter formats when they realized they were not good enough for those formats. If a player keeps getting selected without giving any performance, both the selectors and the player are at fault. Anyone with a little bit of dignity would retire.
 
I've gone 4-1 England.

Pakistan look pretty hopeless at the moment.
 
Mohammad Hafeez needs to play this series but not sure how fit he is - without him - Pak have no chance with current lot

You sound as if we are missing Virat Kohli and not Mohammad Hafeez, he is the same old player who has lost countless matches for Pakistan.

His presence can improve our combination but can't magically turn our chances form losing to winning. Other guys will have to step up, more than him we need Babar Azam, Haris Sohail and Fakhar Zaman to fire with the bat, and Mohammad Amir, Hasan Ali and Shaheen Afridi with the ball.
 
The problem with these predictions are that you can not wish for other results when you already have predicted a certain result.
I see some have predicted 4-1 to England, but I am sure they will be supporting Pakistan when the match starts and will be happy if Pakistan win, but then you think about what you predicted...brain says something and heart something else.
 
Pak should get thrashed 4-1 or 5-0. Will have to play out of their skins to beat Eng.

Didn't know that the game is at Oval (thought Old Trafford) - PAK must have to make this one count if they are to stand any chance in this series. Losing 1st game at Oval might be impossible to recover.

That's right bro!! just like winning is a habit, so is losing - every game should be played to win, like it's your last!

Once you get this mindset of not minding losing and kid yourself that you're testing bench strength/ resting/ rotating/ finalising then you become numb to defeat and you love the taste of crap from the heels of your opponents boots

Please don't buy into that delusion bro
