The second day of the fifth round saw an even contest between Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA). The game between Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Television (PTV) also entered an interesting phase. State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) bowlers got their team back in the game as Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) found themselves in a spot of bother. SNGPL’s Abid Ali scored his 29th first-class century while WAPDA’s Asif Afridi spun a web around SNGPL batters on his way to a five-wicket haul.

SNGPL vs WAPDA at UBL Sports Complex, Karachi

WAPDA lead by 28 runs in second innings after the completion of the second day’s play as SNGPL were bundled out for 292 in their first innings. Muhammad Irfan Khan (91 not out, 124b, 8x4s, 4x6s), batting at number six, struck a brilliant half-century to cut the trail below hundred. SBP ended up scoring 194 all out in 58.3 overs. The young bowling sensation from Ghani Glass, Shoaib Akhtar, secured a maiden first-class five-wicket haul, taking 5 wickets for 71 runs against WAPDA in the sixth round of the President's Trophy 2023-24.

On the same pitch that Mohammad Akhlaq scored an unbeaten double century…

Sharjeel returns scores of 7 and 4 against second rate FC bowlers.

Yet another humiliation for Sharjeel who proves that not letting him anywhere near the PSL was absolutely the right decision.

Does anybody have the scoop on Mohammed Rameez? According to CricInfo, he's 28, but has played only 10 FC games. He has 58 wickets in them.

Where was he all this time? Maybe he should be fast-tracked in to replace injury-prone Abrar.

Teams are not made based on what the owner of that team demands. Teams should be made purely on talent and performance. If moeez performs and deserves a chance then all is good else he should be sitting on the bench and serving water. President's trophy is not some club cricket where you can demand anything, it a Pakistan's domestic tournament, everybody should take is serious.
Apparently in the 3 games that Moeez Ghani has played,
  1. He skippered the first game
  2. Hussain Talat skippered the second one
  3. He skippered the third one in which Shan Masood (Pak red ball captain) played.
Of the 6 games that Ghani Glass has played so far, Hussain Talat has captained 3, Moeez Ghani 2, and Saad Nasim 1.
