Where are all those genuises who were saying that PTI has lost popularity. They seem to have gain more popularity in other cities.
That's why you should never take predictions and views of these Internet analysts serious.
Ye man, miss those days watching Alpha Bravo Charlie.

That's quite disheartening isn't it. It feels like once they become IK supporters, they suddenly gets bestowed with powers to shame and ridicule anyone who is not in agreement with their POV. They immediately get the right to be the moral and ethical police, the sole proponents of truth and justice and the rightful champions of true (clean) democracy. Must be a great place to be in. I wonder at times that my life on this forum would have been so blissful and easy if I would have also joined the ranks of the loyal cult following IK. I could have easily operated in the realms of pure black and white, not having to pay any attention to the grey areas in our political discourse and of course avoiding constant repetition. But alas, I decided to be the antagonist, a villain to my hero insafian brothers, at times wondering why am I even doing this. For what purpose do I wage this debate as I've known long before that I wont get anything from it but labels, colorful names and epithets. Still, the enthusiasm has not gone down and unfortunately IK and PTI keeps adding more fuel to the fire. When will I finally learn.
I generally agree with your entire post, but the bolded part is especially spot on!!
We already know you and Saadibaba agree on everything.![]()
I'm pretty sure no one here said PTI does not have "popular support". There's a chasm in between 'popularity in the public' and 'political popularity'.
Khair, I'm back in uni, so I haven't been able to keep up with recent developments a lot - apart from knowing about the Karachi jalsa.
I'm just waiting by to see how this all ends.
Sharjeel Memon's statement that Sindhis have always supported PPP gives me an impression that all is not well for them and PTI might be gaining some support there.
What? Because couple of leading editors and column writers don't like this agitation? How exactly popularity of a political party is different from the political popularity ?
I'm not talking about the media. I'm talking about the public sphere and the political sphere.
Public sphere - how the general public/masses take everything, their stance, their views, their support. PTI was always bound to have this, whatever the outcome of the dharnas.
Political sphere - all the relevant actors within our political system, from politicians to even members of the SC judiciary and army (because we have politicised them so much). But generally, I meant politicians - who are part of a distinct subculture within our general society. Popularity in the political sphere would imply support from members of other political parties, if not the parties themselves. In a system, you can never operate as a major player with an all vs one approach - some people would have to be picked up, used, discarded in line with political advantages, which is why relations can't be absolutely severed from everyone else. PTI has lost some popularity sphere. ANP, PPP, PMLN would now be extremely cautious of conducting themselves around PTI, allying with them for whatever reason, vice versa. In this respect, I feel SMQ has done his part to better the political support of PTI more than IK who's been rigid.
They have picked up Jamaat-e-Islami may be? At least they are financially the least corrupt and also have a democratic system within party.
But this is kind of a naive statement from you which theoretically might well be right but the fact is that this is the main reason that PTI enjoys public support, people only support PTI because Imran is trying to keep his party aloof from the status-quo.
PTI cant do anything about MQM and PP in Sindh. They will always win from there and nothing will change. Even IK is scared of Altaf Hussain and never mentioned him in speeches. Karachi is ruled by Gun and will be ruled like this forever. Sad but true.
JI aren't exactly everyone's favourite either, but you're right, PTI did choose them. But presently, their alignment with PAT/Qadri is reflecting very negatively in the political circles, in status quo and other parties alike. (Something that personally ticks me off as well - I see no reason why IK should shroud Qadri/PAT with his own, hard-earned legitimacy that took more than 18 years by aligning with a suspicious character like TUQ. And I take co-ordinating, arranging, sharing stage, holding hands etc as an alliance, even if there is no "official" announcement ).

Bro, you forget that I'm foremost a student. I revel in theory. I make no claims of my statement being the absolute truth in any manner. I say things as I see them.
PTI as an untested party, amongst a whole host of other reasons some of which you stated, will remain a publicly popular party for a while at least. No questions on that.
You missed out on poondi
Sorry, but found this funny and true.
You missed out on poondi
haven't you jumped off that cliff yet since you have no hope? the mere fact that they have managed over 40 days is an achievement in itself. This is just the beginning.
Find it hard to believe how people can support PML-N after knowing their incompetency ,corruption and brainlessness.
The latest,Gullu Butt is innocent.Wah kya baat hai.
Imran disowns dissident MNAs
ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan is not in a forgiving mood. The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman wrote to the speaker of the National Assembly on Friday, seeking the de-seating of three dissident PTI lawmakers who have not submitted their resignations alongside other PTI parliamentarians.
In letters dated September 24, Mr Khan, as party chief and parliamentary leader of the PTI, quoted Article 63A of the Constitution and asked the speaker and the chief election commissioner (CEC) to consider the seats of MNAs Nasir Khattak (NA-15), Gulzar Khan (NA-4) and Ms Musarrat Zeb (reserved seat) vacated for violating party discipline.

The PTI chairman, in three separate letters, has informed the speaker and the CEC that the three MNAs had not complied with the party’s unanimous decision, taken on August 4, whereby all party lawmakers were to hand over their resignations to the party leadership. The PTI core committee also endorsed the decision.
However, Mr Khattak, Mr Gulzar and Ms Zeb “in disregard and disobedience of the unanimous decision of the party failed to tender their resignations and, therefore, were issued show-cause notices. Their replies to the notices were found unsatisfactory and untenable,” the letters said.
“In accordance with the PTI constitution, the PTI chairman terminated their basic membership.”
As the three have defected from the party, their seats are liable to be vacated in terms of Article 63A of the constitution, Mr Khan was quoted as saying in the concluding paragraph of the letters addressed to both the speaker and the CEC.
However, legal experts have differing opinions about the PTI chairman’s ability to invoke Article 63A.
Talking to Dawn, former law minister S.M. Zafar, who was also part of the constitutional committee that drafted the seminal 18th constitutional amendment, said, “At least 63A doesn’t cover the charge which the PTI chairman is using to seek their (the three MNAs) ousting from the house.”
The Article 63A lays down certain preconditions, which lead to disqualification on the grounds of defection. It says, “ If a member of a parliamentary party, composed of a single political party in a house, resigns from membership of his political party or joins another parliamentary party; or votes or abstains from voting in the house contrary to any direction issued by the parliamentary party to which he belongs, in relation to (i) election of the Prime Minister or the Chief Minister; or (ii) a vote of confidence or a vote of no-confidence; (iii) a money bill or a constitution (amendment) bill.”
As long as this constitutional provision is concerned, Mr Zafar insisted, neither the speaker nor the CEC could entertain the PTI leader’s application.
However, PTI’s resident legal expert and former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Hamid Khan, argued that according to the spirit of 63A, if someone was outside the party, he/she shouldn’t hold the seat they had won in the name of that particular party.
The issue isn’t whether the speaker or the CEC can accept the PTI’s contention. “It’s a message which the PTI intends to send out loud and clear, i.e. the party has taken a principled decision to quit the National Assembly and whosoever defies it has no future in the party.”
The PTI had 33 MNAs in the National Assembly, of whom 30 have submitted their resignations, which are currently with the speaker. Mr Ayaz Sadiq has asked the resigning PTI lawmakers to personally appear before him to confirm their notices. But the PTI argues they should be treated as one group and invited together.
It is worth noting that if Imran Khan’s resignation from the National Assembly had already been accepted, as the party insists, he would not be in a position as the parliamentary leader of PTI to even make this request.

A senior official of the education department told Dawn on Friday that JI leaders had voiced reservations about the printing of pictures of minor girls without dupatta, Christmas cake and a Cross emblem on an ambulance instead of Crescent, the mention of good morning instead of Assalamu Aliakum, and presence of some other ‘objectionable’ content in textbooks for primary schools.
“Officials of the department concerned and textbook board have formally agreed to remove objectionable contents from textbooks and will induct material to be proposed by Jamaat,” he said.

Did pervez rashid stop ? No.
Same goes for these guys.
So what has become of this - 57 pages on? One would have thought Nawaz Sharif would have resigned by now if the call was loud enough.
Or if Nawaz had some dignity.

What is Patwari?
The village accountant (variously known as Patwari, Tallati, Patel, Karnam, Adhikari, Shanbogaru, etc.) is an administrative government position found in rural parts of the Indian sub-continent. The office and the officeholder are called the patwari in Andhra Pradesh, Bengal, North India and in Pakistan while in Sindh it is called Tapedar.
This is highly prestigious job. This job carries more weight than any politician job as it adds to contribute positive value to Pakistan economy.
It was just a sarcastic post mate..and basically in Pakistan's politics if you are pro PML-N you can be referred to as a 'patwari'.
how come Imran Khan's Dharna has failed but the Jalsas are huge?

Nawaz can't even give a speech in public. What is the endgame now? Is IK trying to get a ruling against Sharif in court which may force him to resign or has he threatened him with another deadline?
Looking in from the outside it appeared as if IK had Sharif on the ropes a few weeks ago (when the latter ran off to the Army for help) but now his position seems more stable.
