Batting looks strong but bowling not so good. Nawaz and Zulfi are decent spinners but Umar Gul and Anwar Ali as two of your pacers ?

Tymal Mills is a great pick, very quick through the air and what you need on slow UAE decks.

Bowling isn't convincing at all, a lot will depend on Mills. There batting is decent.

Carlos Brathwaite, as we are discovering, is quite overrated. I'm surprised they picked him. And who's Rovman Powell? Disappointing

Compared to this one last year they had a better team,

Kevin doesn't score much on spinning tracks

Luke isn't reliable

Shezad in a lump

Anwar posses nothing apart from.fielding efforts

Afghani Player mediocrity

West Indies are never eager to perform unless angry,

Shafique though performed against a d grade bowling in T,20 domestic isn't suited to this genre

Gul got old

Zulfi not a T20 bowler

Saad and Umar complete jokes!

The team to fight is only Sarfi, Nawaz, Mills, willey

Quetta did a silly thing actually when picking Ahmed Shehzad they could have easily picked him in Gold category and save money . Lahore, islamabad and Peshawar would have never picked Ahmed shehzad !

If a team has to retain a player they need to retain him on the same contract as of last year,
And AS performed for them in last tournament so they had to retain him,

So basically a Sarfraz friends xi. Why would he pick Shafiq, Anwar, Shehzad and Saad Nasim??? :))) :)))

Poorest team. Maybe if Amin performs they can do something.

Well his friends and him got to the final last time and I believe even in that season they were called the poorest team before the tournament began.

So let's try and wait a bit before dismissing them completely.

What a poor team. Shehzad, Anwar Ali, Zulfi Babab, Umar Gul . They somehow got to the final last season but this time around, I would be surprised if they don't finish bottom.

It was the overseas players and Nawaz who carried them.

Ahmed
Amin
Asad
KP
Sarfu*+
Wright
Brathwaite
Nawaz
Nabi
Anwar/Gul
Noor Wali/Hasan Khan

Last year, they were the surprise team, mainly because of their overseas players & Ahmed, Nawaz being tow of the best players. But, I think, this year they'll miss the cut - not a balanced side with seriously lacking in pace attack. Nabi, Nawaz makes a decent spin attack, BUT Anwar or Gul is their opening bowler, which doesn't give confidence. They might play Mills, but that'll cost either Nabi or Brathwaite. Amin might be dropped, to accommodate both Gul & Anwar, but that doesn't improve the team. It has to be blinder of a tournament for KP & Wright, otherwise they are likely to be first to go home.

Very poor team, what can I say. Can go to the qualifiers max, no way can this team reach the final.

Afghan player Mohhamad Nabi is on 3rd position in all rounders in t20 ICC rankings.

Wow people really don't rate David Willey here.

He is a fantastic t20 fast bowler who also opens the batting for his county team in t20s

shamefull only 1 balouch player their that too in supplementary bismillah khan :(( , only queta by name.
Does anyone know if they are doing some talent hunt in Baluchistan like Lahore , Peshawar and Karachi

Also I don't think Islamabad is doing anything apart from signing celebrities

They have selected few spinners and fast bowlers from Balochistan for a camp in NCA Lahore.

Balochistan has poor cricketing infrastructure. Everyone cannnot strive like Mohammad Asghar. It isn't easy.

Apart from Asghar there isn't any quality player from Balochistan playing domestic Cricket.

Our government and establishment need to bring Balochistan in mainstream. Corruption and Sardari Nizaam is a huge setback for Balochistan.

It is very easy to say this behind screens, bro. Being a Baloch myself, I think I can let you know with proof that only a simulacrum of democracy exists in Balochistan. The tribal leaders don't even let them get basic education, let alone participate in international sporting events or anything that could lead to the people thinking about themselves, their own future and their rights. Its like living in North Korea but worse since the world doesn't know that you're going through this. However yes, there have been talent hunts there.

And, I think since we aren't playing big names like Steyn, ABD, Maxwell, Miller etc and only retired legends or players who their own international teams rarely select, signing celebrities will only do good to the league.

Quetta Galaditors replaced

Brathwaite with Moeen Ali

Powell with thisara perera

Nabi with Nathan McCullum

Willey with Rilee Rossouw

what a replacement by them they have best foreign players

Rossouw and Wright will absolutely demolish the opposition and if they don't there's KP. Batting looks extremely strong.

add to that moeen ali will be available for them in 5 matches who is quality batsmen and will be more

than handy with the bowl on uae tracks

1 Shehzad.
2 Wright.
3 Pietersen.
4 Rossouw.
5 Sarfaraz.
6 Moeen.
7 Nawaz.
8 Hassan Khan.
9 Anwar.
10 Gul.
11 Hamza.

That looks a strong team. Although the fast bowling doesn't inspire much confidence, the batters are awesome.

Is Willey going to play for another PSL team? Really wanted to see him Swing the new ball.

only 36 posts for last season's runner up. :angelo
Slog everybody's underestimating Karachi 2.0 like last time, eh? :yk

Riad had great performance in Asia cup also was the man of the tournament for BPL.

I hope he plays the entire PSL instead of wasting a valuable space in the test team with Test average of 30

currently injured won,t play any cricket alteast till psl is over

He's supposedly fit for Englands T20 tomorrow but won't be risked quite yet especially given we won the first game, so I expect he'd be perfectly fine for the PSL.

ryad is excellent t20 player i will take him over tamim though he is middle order batsman but verry handy offie as well...

Abdullah719 pls correct replacement post as actually they had replaced willy with nathan macculum and Mohammad Nabi with rossouw...this confusion created me headache for a while now

Backing QG to put other teams (except KK) in their place like last time.

Would be lovely if they inflict resounding defeats to LQ and IU.

Just see the first post in this thread, it has the complete squad.

I know but i was referring to replacement post in the middle of this thread

Replacement post is about specific replacement at a certain time, it will take too much searching to find each replacement post on every team's thread and update which is why I have added squad to first post for each discussion thread. Makes it simpler. Ignore the replacement post now, it's obsolete.

Backing Karachi to Mash them Calendars like Chocolate Pudding.

Hope they are the team who gets elminated. Too many rubbish players

Looks weak compared to the others but Shehzad in his form, and Sarfraz as captain I feel they will perform better than expected again this year.

Apparently Mohammad Nabi will be playing the first few games for Quetta before he leaves for Zimbabwe tour.

He would definitely be missed. I still remember how Nabi displayed incredible nerves of steel to chase 200 odd for QG against LQ.

they were just showing it on ARY news, it was one of the best matches of the tournament

Quetta hasn't been playing the proper team I think they need to make couple of changes and bring in Saad and umar
Id play

Ahmed Shehzad
Umar Amin
K.P
Sarfaraz
Riley Russow
Saad Naseem
Thisara Parera
M.Nawaz
Hasan Khan
Anwar Ali
Tymal Mills.

Quetta should seriously try Umar Amin as opener now. He could show some impact in this league maybe and get selected, Amin should play with good approach. He is elegant and has the shots.

Amin could be a good ploy at the top of the order. I still remember back in 2013 Amin played one innings as opener and looked like class but Misbah the gentleman never picked him again, perhaps he was playing too fast for Misbah's liking.

Amin needs to be played up top and needs to perform, I'm afraid time is running out for him.

Shafiq needs to be dropped, Amin should play next match
rest KP and Anwar, play Luke Wright and Mir Hamza

Syed1 Amin can also give some handy overs, But as a Batsman he looks like a confidence player who needs a push start to his career. Certainly good enough to average 35-42 at SR of 85-95. Quetta needs to select him so he could show some impact.

Why would you play Hamza?

He doesn't have the pace to trouble any batsman in the T20 format.

first of all Anwar is terrible
second of all pace is not everything, one can be successful with the tight line and length even if he's bowling around 130 and using variations, Mir Hamza deserves a go, he's young full of confidence after the recent performances
would you say 'why play Hasan Ali? he does not have pace' while he is performing well in t20s?

Hasan Ali is 135 kph+ and can swing the ball along with an array of variations.

Mir Hamza is 128-132 kph and doesn't have many variations either.

Hasan's average pace is also 130 kph, his swing is nowhere near Mir Hamza's
Hasan's strength is his variations
and don't count your eggs before they hatch, Mir Hamza has the potential to be a really good bowler, certainly better than Anwar, and it's not like he's not gonna learn and improve

Bangladesh's Mahmudullah Riyad has joined Quetta Gladiators after tour of India
