What's new

Rishabh Pant (101) puts India in control, close Day 2 on 294/7 with lead of 89 runs over England

Exhaustion kicking in. He has been worked too hard because England misread the pitch again.

Exceptional innings by Pant, wearing the bowlers down then hitting out as they tired. Very smart cricket. Probably match winning and series winning.

Roots gonna get stokes injured. Honeslty terrible leadership from him this series.

And to think Kohli didn't play him in that 36 AO test and preferred Saha over this guy!

Pant brought to the scene at the right time. He became kind of reckless earlier and now after his return to the team is a responsible player

He can change india Fortune overseas with his attacking batting . We already seen his trailer in Australia .next is India tour to England

Yeah excited to see him in england.

This dude is smart as hell.

If only our entire top and middle order werent tailenders.

If not for Rohit, we were stuffed this series.

Terrible selection from root, bowler rotations and leadership.

Should be removed from captaincy after this series.

Not true. He has always been a good test cricketer. Just that Australia tour brought the best out of him.

Indian bowlers will be like, we are supposed to take wickets and we are supposed to score runs as well!

Rohit has been clutch this series. Kohli seems lost hes acheieved everything, has all the money. He doesnt know what hes playing for anymore.

Seems like mcgregor right now lol

Root has to take control back. So far is doing poor pitch reading and poor utilisation of bowling options. Is overbowling Stokes and protecting Bess.

Not true. He has always been a good test cricketer. Just that Australia tour brought the best out of him.

The debut was great. I am talking about when he was accused of throwing his wicket away and was called out by Kohli too. Now it seems he should get back on podium and tell Kohli not to fish outside off stump.

How do they expect to win? Visiting India and they have a situation where stokes anderson and root have bowled more than Bess and Leach. wats going on

It was already known that England do not have a good spin attack and they would struggle in Indian spinning tracks.

I like Dom but honestly bowling 2 fulltosses an over is not good enough for a test class finger spinner. ¹

I have never seen kohli go through that many innings with a century must be the worst slump in his career.

Sundar 100
Axar 50

England lose by an innings.

They seem deflatedand most likely wanna go home asap.

Yea but so did indian batsmen. Excuses at this point. Root has been a terrible and meek captain.

What I meant was Saha wasn't the right choice for Adelaide test. Pant had scored a ton in the practice game as well played prior to Adelaide test.

Pant, Axar and Sudar have stopped the pitch from spinning.

Indian batsmen what? What was known about Indian batsmen?

That they are not good spin players. Have you seen any indian home test series? Its a well known players nowadays dont play spin well.

Eng just didnt have good spinners with enough patience and discipline to win here

perhaps it was rank poor batting after all and not rank turners

Tim Paine can see Rishabh Pant crushing Australia's hopes with a blistering innings.

England have killed the confidence of dom bess. he got wickets in first game and they should have persisted with him. Now he looks lost and wants the day to end

It was poor batting, only one pitxh spun out right. The others have been pretty balanced.

Both sides failed to apply themselves, england just failed more times then india.

Yes because they are good players of spin playing at home. And Like I said England do not have good spinners and on top they are inexperienced both facts were known. They have won one match which was on flatter pitch most people were predicting 4-0

Bess isn't good enough to be called a part timer in current form. Few peaches, but far too few and in-between.

Moeen is the better option, far more competitive package - Bat, ball, field!

So its well known the best players of spin in cricket world are not good players of spin? What sort of false agenda are you trying to spread here?

Just bcs of YK is a good player of spin means current Pak players also good players of spin?

Again have you seen indian test series? These guys usually win the toss and bat first, score huge and avoid the tough batting on spinning wickets.

Eng has won 3 tosses out of 4 here. And still failed to capitalize.

Last time this happened was vs Aus and they had a tough time winning that series.

regardless of pink ball and lacquer, the 3rd test pitch could have been far better. Denied us of 5 days of good cricket. Only reason I criticize the "pitch + Pink Ball" test.

Those who have seen test series properly can say umpiring has been brilliant under pressure . Even critics like Vaughan Atherton Hussain think the same.

Pujara has fallen down to Rahane level of playing spin nowadays. Kohli is just gone. It is Rohit and Pant this series much like Rahul and Pujara against the Aussies in 2017.

Great knock by Pant here. it could be another series-changing knock by him.

If that had been the otherway round with an england batsmen the indian umpires finger would have gone up straight away.

Really? If that was true then the "Indian umpire's" finger would have stayed down for Rohit.

Lack of domestic cricket has thoroughly exposed India's middle order. Thankfully Pant saved them.

Well...well...well... :))

As i always say...

Listen to sif. :D

And now to sir-fraz.

This lead for india is a match winning one. Excellent knock by Pant.

He should have been given out lbw earlier in day. The game would have been completely different then

Another Flawless innings by greatest wicket keeper batsman from Asia

Marginal call. Didn't look out in real time. Poorest lbw call was against Rohit which hit him high also outside the offstump line.

England look mentally gone and I think India could win by an innings, barring a Root special, but he looks fried too.

England had a good chance with India at 150-6 but the wrong bowling attack was picked for the second test in a row. It got tired and Pant cashed in. Jimmy and Stokes have bowled like lions but badly needed the support of at least one and probably two quicks. Bess is bowling one full toss every ten deliveries - compare with Leach who does this one ball in a hundred - and lets all the pressure off.

Both these sides have mediocre batting, but India have proved to be more resilient over the series with the bat and deserve their 3-1 win.

Marginal? He was almost sat on stumps. Add to that ball looked to be hitting middle and leg.

Rohit one was a more marginal one.

I'm not to confident going in to the summer tests against India to be honest, they have the complete attack in world cricket for all conditions

DRS showed it was marginal. Maybe you can judge better seeing it on TV than DRS?

And the game would have been even more different if Rohit was given notout on impact. 200 against these tired English bowlers wouldn't have been out of reach.

What I meant to say was it was not an obvious lbw. That is why it was not overturned. At the end of the day umpire's call benefitted England more.

Under Kohli despite his monotonous captaincy bowling has improved significantly. Oflate middle order batting has regressed very badly.

The 3rd umpire cudnt do anymore with pant decision according to DRS rules. Question is why did onfield umpire not give it out. How exactly were they thinking ball was missing stumps.

Not once have i blamed 3rd umpire here. People need to learn to read.
