In a significant development, former India batter Suresh Raina is set to become CSK's batting coach for IPL 2026. During the ongoing IPL 2025 match between CSK and GT at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Raina, who was a part of the commentary team, confirmed that he would be joining MS Dhoni next year to groom the young players by serving as the five-time winner's batting coach

HIGHEST TEAM SCORE IN IPL HISTORY:

- 287/3 by SRH in 2024.

- 286/6 by SRH in 2025.

- 278/3 by SRH in 2025.

- 277/3 by SRH in 2024.

PSL started way later than IPL but finished earlier than IPL. Meanwhile IPL still playing meaningless league matches and wasting people times.

CSK has a smart management. I think they will create a new USP from next year. However right from the beginning their fortunes & strength were built around Dhoni's fame/charm/luck (whatever - no denying at that) and also Raina is another key figure (sheer contribution wise). So from next year even though Dhoni & Raina are put in the background (sure they will do a good mentoring role) but at the same time CSK should find a new brand upfront, a face, a new Indian Icon (not sure who this could be).

CSK, RCB & MI teams are blockbuster teams because of their iconic players. Out of these teams I feel CSK & RCB are over dependent on their icons (Dhoni & Kohli). MI - I think they can retain their brand even after Rohit (they somehow find multiple stars shining for them, in fact they became more stronger after Sachin Tendulkar's exit). This has also reflected in winning the trophy (MI & CSK have the lion share). But ironically RCB have not been able to win a single trophy in spite of their brand (alternatively it means that winning trophy is not all that important to create a brand).

Other teams outside these 3 have been a clear second fiddle when it comes to branding (though some teams like KKR & SRH have been consistent in creating impact and winning titles). Something similar to International Cricket (where India, Australia & England are the big 3 teams). So IPL kinda runs its business due to these 3 big teams just like International Cricket survives on its top teams...

RCB needs to just win their last match to be in Top 2. No calculators/NRR needed. Its a simple as that. Win the game and go to Top OR lose the game and face eliminator.

Same situation for Punjab, they just need a win against MI to make it to Top 2. Even MI needs a simple win against Punjab to be in Top 2 (as thier NRR is superior to GT) It is only GT whose fate is dependent on others' game (they want LSG to beat RCB)

I have a strong feeling these will be the results for the remaining ipl.
Last two group matches
Mumbai Indians vs Punjab - Punjab winning
Rcb vs Lsg - Lsg winning ( which means punjab and Gt will play the qualifier 1 and 2)

Gt vs Punjab - Punjab winning.
Rcb vs MI - Mi wins
Gt vs MI - Gt wins
Gt vs Punjab- punjab 2025 ipl champions.
This year has been crazy for all the sports e.g look at F1, Football, Baseball
So many unexpected results are happening.
For that reason i feel Punjab will win. I know RCB falls into the same category but even if 20 million stars form together to make RCB win they will still end up choking.

MI ain't losing anymore matches... Especially when they are in flow and they are approaching knockouts. Their recent loss has been through DLS. It requires stupendous individual performance from someone to beat them. If they are in Top 2, they are almost certain to go on and win all the way! Only hope for opposition is to trap them in the 1st eliminator itself through some individual performance.

Damn i brought two tickets of RCB vs LSG match ( Tommorow) but due to urgent works I'm unable to go :kp

Mumbai is not that team anymore which cannot lose in playoffs. Only Ambani can make them win this ipl.
Take ss of this Either GT or Punjab is winning this trophy.
If RCB was not rcb i would have rooted for them. But as I say it's rcb at the end.

Only Ambani can make them win this ipl.

Even that can work! (If that's the way it is!) CSK & MI have that kind of strangle hold over IPL once they enter playoffs... I am always scared of them! I agree with your RCB analogy, even I don't have any hopes with them! (A proper South Africa at IPL level) Punjab winning it could be really refreshing (at least a new team winning it) and if GT wins they will reach the level of SRH/KKR (2nd tier dominant team in IPL, that too they are a new team out of 8 regular teams, so their progress is astonishing!)

Feel MI have enough on the board... They will seal Top 2 slot if they win this!

KKR has won thrice .

KKR has won thrice .
Yes, they are slightly above the level of SRH (remember DC the old Hyderabad team have also won once), so technically Hyderabad has a consolidated trophy count of 2. So they are better than RR & GT in that regard who have won just once! (If Bangalore had one trophy with some other name/owner at least they would have taken it :-) )

Exactly GT has been such a consistent team and that at such a short period of time.
Coming back to MI you should understand that they under Rohit were different. Hardik has different approach and is too aggressive that can cost them.
Mumbai Indians under Rohit used to defend scores like 130 140 that is not case with this team and you will get some glimpses in today's match only which is going on with punjab where they have to defend 190 something.
Mumbai Indians after winning that 2020 ipl has been completely different.

As I said Bumrah is Only threat and he takes wickets in his 2nd ball of the spell . :kp

There is Deepak Chahar, Mukesh Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, and then there is Bumrah always looking dangerous every single ball he bowls.

Just 5 runs from Bumrah over. Now bumrah 2 over left . Good thinking by PBKS batters to negotiate Bumrah overs. :kp

PBKS need 61 runs in 47 balls.

Punjab on top here , MI need couple of quick wickets to spice up the game.

Game is over for MI. What a extraordinary calculate chase by PBKS so far. Negotiated bumrah over and attack's rest of the attack .:kp

One of the most underpaid players in IPL history.

Among foreign left-arm pace bowlers in IPL history who have taken at least 50 wickets, Mustafizur Rahman (Bangladesh) is the most economical. Mustafizur has maintained an economy rate of around 7.7 runs per over while surpassing the 50-wicket milestone. Other foreign left-arm pacers like Trent Boult (New Zealand) and Jason Behrendorff (Australia) have also crossed 50 wickets, but their economy rates are slightly higher than Mustafizur's.

Punjab tops the table 🫡 💪🏻

Let’s win the next one and reach the final

RCB is likely to lose today match

Qualifier 1 - PBKS vs GT
Eliminator - MI vs RCB

:kp

RCB won the toss and opt to bowl first.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (Playing XI): Philip Salt, Virat Kohli, Mayank Agarawal, Rajat Patidar, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma(w/c), Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, Nuwan Thushara

Lucknow Super Giants (Playing XI): Mitchell Marsh, Matthew Breetzke, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant(w/c), Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad, Himmat Singh, Shahbaz Ahmed, Digvesh Singh Rathi, Avesh Khan, William ORourke

:kp

Hazelwood is not playing today , means he will available for The entire playoff. :kp

Every out of form player gets back to track playing against RCB (Pant this time)

In fact RCB bowling (famous for being spineless) for once looked formidable this season, they are back to their own self now!

Don't care about pant IPL performance , just need pant to back to the form before England series. :kp

Punjab-19
GT-18
RCB-17
Mumbai-16
DC-15
Lucknow-14
SRH-13
KKR-12

This is going to be the Points Table after this match! Wow, proper descending order/series of numbers!

He was never out of form in Test.
He was not at his best in Australia! Given his standards he should have won at least 1 game on his own (he is capable of that, I know others also need to contribute, but if he had stepped up I am sure others would have also got inspired as it happened prior to his injury)

Looking at Thushara, he must play now even if Hazlewood returns... RCB should drop Livingston and include an Indian Batter... It is all about strengthening the bowling... Spinners are not looking comfortable this season, so drop Suyash and play only Krunal as the lone spinner...

Quality Century by Pant! Hopefully LSG Owner will persist with him (and his captaincy). Finishing with 14 points (I am sure LSG will win this game) is a good achievement compared to what happened last time...
