The bridges are not destroyed. I've just seen so.e footage. They are repairable but I think the Russians won't repair the surface because they will get hit again. Bridges are structurally very very strong. They are built to withstand forces like earthquakes and Tsunamis.
Regarding the kherson counter offensive, we have been hearing about it since April. It's not happening. Even western MSM is accepting it's unlikely see the links I posted in my previous posts.
As for the himars, 16 were sent to Ukraine and at least 6 have been destroyed. The Americans usually have 8-10 himars in a single battery and they are supported by air and multiple ground units. They also have logistics for the maintenance and resupply. Right now the Ukrainians have to send the himars and m177 and lots of European equipment to Poland for repairs and maintenance because the Ukrainians don't have the tools or skills. Therefore it's difficult for them to hide from satellite surveillance.
General krivinos of the Ukrainian armed forces on a YouTube interview said that the supply is slowing from the west. In some cases countries are reaching into their reserves.

The Donbas militias report that the Ukrainian troops have retreated from Soledar. The Russians of course will perform a sweep which could take a few days. After that they'll probably have to head south towards Bakhmut and start the encirclement. My guess is Bakhmut will fall in the next 2-3 weeks.

Correct but dont forget the Russians feel now there is no rush. The longer this plays out, the worse for Europe. In fact this military operation has changed Russia forever, its prospering better than ever and is now seen as a world superpower.
If Russia breaks the western economy , it will break western hegemony too. Putin will be up there with the likes of Napoleon.

I deplore this thread's descent into people arguing like this is a spectator sport. Come on chaps - people are dying, millions of refugees are fleeing, women are being raped. This is horrible.
The Russians are not like the Ukranians, the majority of their units don't have phones so the footage we see is mostly from Ukranians or the Russian MoD when they release it. They didn't release footage of of the capture of so many Ukranian PoWs, does it mean they weren't captured? Of course it doesn't because several weeks later we see them in captivity.
I found it very interesting how for months the sheep have kept quiet as the Russians destroys ammunition and weapon depos/factories all over Ukraine, but the moment the Ukranians hit them in return, these are gaming changing incidents.
The Ukranians are bound to land some blows, they of course have many many soldiers on the frontline and have some artillery. The question is can they land enough blows to mount any counter offensives? The answer so far is a decisive no.
Please provide a source for these rumours - because there is no way Russia are going to negotiate whilst they are winning and winning so easily.
Perhaps from the Ukranian nationalist forces but not the Russians or Ukranian main army. Please provide verified information before making such claims.

You can’t blame the Ukrainians for wanting prosperity as part of EU and security as part of NATO. Perhaps they should have waited ten years for Putin to die, though he did immanentise their lean west by invading Crimea in 2014.

The UK government has to take action to prevent another fuel price hike or some British people really will die of cold this winter. Already people are taking only fresh food from food banks because they cannot afford to turn the gas or electricity on to cook a meal. I think power cuts are coming this winter.
I would renationalise electricity and gas.
The average German obviously does enjoy a much higher standard of living than the average Russian and Italy is a warm place so nobody there will freeze.

The Ukrainians haven't been able to launch a BTG level counter offensive since 2015. According to military leaders who are not paid sills, the Ukrainians don't have the ability to. We are 6 months in the war, give us a single example of a single BTG level counter offensive.
You are right it does feel different now, the west and their proxy are getting more and more desperate. Also did you see Putin and Shoigu in their recent security meeting? Compare that to Joe Biden and Zelensky.
You are conflating two separate issues.
The first is Ukraine’s ability to regain control over its occupied sovereign territory, which is what you are discussing.
The second is the progressive degradation of Russia’s conventional military power with every week that this war drags on. Already we are at a point where Russia could no longer concurrently maintain its military occupation of parts of Georgia and Moldova at the same time as fighting against Ukraine.
Six months ago, Russia would have been capable of holding its own if it attacked a country like Finland or Sweden. Now they would be wiped out in an afternoon by either of those countries, but what’s more they would find themselves at war with NATO!
For the record, Finland has 55 F/A18C Hornets with 64 F35’s on order.
Sweden has 80 active Gripen fighters with another 20 to be reactivated.
Not only are both countries doubling their defence budget in response to Russian aggression against Ukraine, but also an attack against either in the future will lead to a NATO military response.

It's almost likely going around in circles. Did you bother to read the article by the the British organisation RUSI that I posted a few weeks ago? Also the one by the Washington Post where they explain how the Russians are operating. If you did you'd have seen that there is no degradation of the Russian military power.
1. The Russian MIC (military industrial complex) entered large scale production quite some time ago in preparation for this conflict. How else do you think they continue to use 50-60k shells every single day after 6 months?
2. The west are depleting their stocks, they don't have much to send over anymore without compromising their own combat capability. The west haven't entered in mass production like the Russians - this is details in that article I presented by the British RUSI.
3. The Russians are not only holding the territory captured they are are gaining more and more albeit slowly.
4. There is no stalemate. The Russians are in no hurry, this is obvious because of point 1 and also they want to minimise their own losses. They simply bombard the Ukranians with their overwhelming advantage in artillery and when the defences have crumbled they will go in and sweep the area slowly because the Ukranians have mined all these areas.

This week was the first time - after 8 long years - that the Russian Army realised that they are going to lose Crimea.

The higher levels of Russian Army clearly have not told Putin yet that Crimea cannot be held. And this is just a distraction while they try to put together some kind of plan.
The level of delusion here. The Ukranians haven't been able to launch any counter offensive since 2015 and back then the Russians didn't deploy the type of numbers they have now.
If the Ukranians have spent 6 months trying to and uncussefully launch an attack on Kherson, how in the name of mickey mouse will they ever get as far as crimea?
Those attacks in Crimea have been proven to be sabotage. Which of course shows a lapse or deficiency in Russian intel there but does not change the outcome of the war one iota.
The Russians have been launching missiles to Lviv, Kyiv and other big western ukranian cities, does that mean they're about to take control of it? You haven't a clue. But please carry on listening to BBC and CNN.

The Ukranians did not drive Russians back from anywhere. The Russians withdrew, they withdrew from several sides once they had established supply and logistic lines in the south.
None of you seem to understand the Russians used 200k forces for this operation that is one third of what they're up again. In a straight shoot out you lose always. But if you can split the troops and shape the battlefield to use your strenths you have a chance.

Ask yourself this simple question. If the Ukranians are winning so much, why are they still pleading for weapons and why go through the 8th wave of mobilisation? Russia haven't issued any mobilisation orders even once and throughout July the Russian main army were resting while the militias and mercenaries were fighting.
Who said cigarette? Please provide a source. The Russians did not say anything initially, after investigations they confirmed it was sabotage using homemade bombs on off the shelf drones. It's like a pin ***** in the grand scheme of things.
Can you explain to the rest of us, how exactly the Ukranians are going to capture/surround/conquer Crimea? They haven't been able to even start the counter offensive in Kherson.
Or should we expect some paratrooper flying in? Or perhaps they will perform an amphibious assault?

I don’t think that can happen.
The best that Ukraine can manage is to hold the line, not fall back further.
I’d like to think they could retake Kherson, cross the Dnipro river, while partisans continue to blow railways and substations up in the occupied territory.

Nah, they would be in huge trouble if the bridge goes. Ukraine has shown it can take out Russian ships, I'm not even sure the black sea fleet has left Sevastapol since the Moskva went down.
The bridge will get blown.
Unless Russia fully mobilises... they will be hopelessly outgunned and out numbered soon.

The number of petitions for insolvency has grown for a fourth consecutive quarter
Bankruptcy declarations in the EU increased by 2.2% in the April-June period of 2022, the latest data from the European statistics agency Eurostat shows.
“In the second quarter of 2022, the seasonally adjusted number of declarations of bankruptcies increased by 2.2% in the EU and by 2.5% in the euro area, compared with the first quarter of 2022,” the agency said in a report published on Wednesday.
The agency does not give the exact number of declarations, only the percentage. According to Eurostat, however, the number of bankruptcy filings has grown for a fourth quarter in a row.
Latvia observed the largest growth during the reporting period, with the number of companies filing for bankruptcy up by 74.4%. It was followed by Belgium, which saw a 14.7% increase, and Denmark (11.9%).
During this period, companies filed for bankruptcy in nearly all sectors of the EU economy, Eurostat says. Compared with the period before the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of declarations increased particularly in transportation, storage and accommodation, as well as food services.

Its blind supporters of Nato who are the ones wishing for a nuclear war.
You cannot defeat Russia, its a huge nation with huge natural resources, large army, the most advanced missiles in the world and allied with the likes of China.
Any sane people would make peace with such a power, not try to destroy in cowardly fashion relying on the blood of Ukrainians.
