People were getting giddy with the Ukrainian nato application. Jake sullivan responded diplomatically, now is not the time.
Can't both happen? In March this year, Liz Truss said our sanctions will crash the Russian economy. This week she said Putin invasion is the cause of inflation in the UK.
The west preaches about democracy but says nothing about what Zelensky is doing inside Ukraine with the opposition.

In one area of kherson ukraine has advanced 40 km + and broken the russiann defence
Russia has even admitted they are outnumbered by the Ukrainians and are struggling to resupply and get the adequate reinforcements it's only a matter of time when they push back over the dnipro or fall back to shore up just kherson itself.
Ever since ukraine has used drones and precisionn artillery they have changed their fortunes on the battlefield in kherson they have managed this by blowing up all bridges that resupply the Russian frontline.
It's now pretty much clear russia doesn't have enough men they have become overstretched and they can't remobilie proper fighting men to get to the frontline they simply don't have them .
It's very telling that prominent Russian twitter accts etc are pushing the Elon musk peace plan...
Sounds like a massive collpase around Kherson
*withdrawal.
mazkhan - Try reading material from both sides and look at maps from all sources. Yes the Russians are down on men, but that will soon change. These Ukrainian gains, do you have any idea the losses they are suffering for them? In kherson oblast the Ukrainians suffered more than 10k kia in just September.
As for the airforce not doing anything. Simple reason is the sheer volume of anti-air shoulder launchers that there are. Why risk $10million jets up against $200k missiles that every company has? Neither side is that stupid. The Russians at the start were performing 300+ sorties a day, now that's come down to around 150 according to Rybar.
Final point, the gloves haven't come off yet. We are all waiting for the Russians to give the order to their men to fight without an arm tied behind their back. Once that happens things will change very quickly.
Quoting you and others elsewhere in a few months will be lots of fun.
More and more PR wins for the Ukrainians. Do you guys have any comments on the losses being suffered by them to make these gains?

This is a weird way of arguing, its Ukrainian homeland so they will obviously fight it out and have more numbers to lose to free themselves.
It's kinda like in saying Middle-east wars of US that just because the number of US soldiers died were low means they were winning it.
But it is not Ukraine that is fighting it out, it is Ukraine plus NATO. Ukraine did sweet FA when Russia annexed Crimea.

Keep telling yourself that.... NATO hasn't got a single boot on the ground.
Thankfully for Russia
No you keep telling yourself UK is in 2 Billion debt and NATO doesn't fund or arm Ukraine.
Oh and Ukraine has never applied to join NATO.
I am not interested in the Tik Tok Flop generation.

NATO may fund Ukraine, but its has no soldiers there. So you are wrong again.
Keep flip flopping, no idea what the UK debt has got to do with the Russia war
Yeah but Russia went full berzerk, my point is on comparison, I think middleast wars were costly and mistake from US, but from bones logic just because US had less casualties and occupied the entire land, it was a victory? Those are double standards.

Russia didn’t go berserk in Crimea. They covertly supported an insurrection by ethnic Russian militia groups n response to the Euromaidan. The Night Wolves motorcycle club (Russian paramilitary group) assisted. Russian special forces seized the Crimean parliament building and “green men” -Russian soldiers without insignia - seized other facilities such as news broadcasters and power stations.
The Ukraine army was in a “decrepit” state in 2014 but has been transformed into the much larger and more resilient force of today by a combination of mass volunteering, giving junior officers the authority to act on their own initiative, and heavy investment by USA.

Please tell us whats happening?
*withdrawal.
I would expect special forces from NATO member states and aligned countries to be there as trainers.

You can say it’s a withdrawal if you have the troops, weapons and organisation to fight for another day.
However this isn’t a withdrawal but retreating from a certain strategic defeat because the Russians are getting outnumbered are are also being overpowered by much better weapons against a determined organised opposition.
Putin is now throwing his last ditch attempt to force the average Russian to fight this insane war of choice.
Winter is coming so this may stall the Ukraine advance in the medium term but at the moment the Russian forces are collapsing because their supply lines are also being shut down.
And we have stacked up our military with Soviet/Russian stuff for 75+ years. #Gulp
Well it seems Russia has more than a bloody nose. They have taken a beating last 2 days. Why do they keep leaving all the equipment behind. Makes no sense...![]()
Putin won't survive this loss its too humiliating for russia.
Have you seen footage or polls from the public in Russia? Putin is more popular now than before believe it or not. The political analysts believe that part of it is the west 's russophobia.
The Russians want to defeat nato...with Putin as their leader at the end.
By the way why does everyone think nsvalny would get a shot? The Russians would kick him out before a single western leaning policy was implemented. He has around 12% of the support compared to around 56% for Putin. It will be even more lopsided now given the response from the Russian public to the sanctions.
Have you?... i mean real ones NOT controlled by the Kremlin?
You haven't, so stop pretending you know anything about Russia
I certainly have. I've told you about the videos on social media, YouTube, rumble etc from the average Russian civilian. The average Russian was impartial to the west prior to the SMO. Thanks to the russophobia which I've explained numerous times, they are no longer impartial.
What exactly does banning Russian athletes and teams from events achieve? It builds anger in the average Russian towards those who ban them and not their leadership.
why should Russians enjoy all their freedoms whilst they are bombing and murdering Civillians?

The average Russian doesn't see it that way. They ask why we're American and British athletes allowed to participate during the Iraq war.
The west banned Russians from sporting events in the hope that somehow it would put pressure on the leadership. Instead the average Russian was coming on social media and asking why we're American athletes allowed to participate whilst they illegally invaded Iraq, Afghanistan?

Which is a fair question.
But Russia was thrown out by the IOC for mass state-sponsored cheating and blood-doping, not warfare.

Washington post reporting Ukraine have taken Nova Kakhovka...
Wow, that means thy have crossed the river!!!
I searched washington post but found no article regarding Nova Kakhovka.
Link please.
Seems like they're being beaten in Kherson.
I said before until they mobilise their proper army, this paper tiger won't win against Ukrainians wanting their country back armed to the teeth with NATO weapons.
You’re a smart lad, you can’t honestly be this naive.
Kherson is a city which hasnt fallen? A few villages with little to no soldiers have been entered.
I suggest to Nato war cheerleaders to provide sources for their news, as over this thread you guys have been made to look silly, time after time.
Russia continues to control approx 20% of Ukraine after 6 months, inc all the vital strategic areas.
Any areas Ukraine has retaken are a result of Russian strategy. But this will change soon when Russia starts its own offensive. Thousands of aircraft are parked on the border, ready to enter. Hundreds of thousands of troops are ready to enter with high tech equipment. Russia hasnt really started a war with Ukraine, its still in military operation stage but this will soon change.
I think its you who is naive. Putin has huge support in Russia while European governments are falling like cards because the people are waking up to realise their leaders are puppets.
Ukraine wants to join Nato, US, UK and others say NO. It has been clear all along the west do not care for Ukranians but want to use their blood for a proxy war.
I think once the Russian attack starts, many Ukranians will want an end and eventually Ukraine will be controlled by Russia.
Western policies have been the most idiotic in history.![]()
Do you actually believe what you've just typed?... Tens of thousands of aircraft?... What?? They don't even own a fraction of that.
Hundreds of thousands of troops? You mean old men and alcoholics....
The delusion is strong ... Oh btw Ukraine hasn't even committed most of its troops yet
Which European govs have fallen? What are u talking about???
Have you not read the news of Italy? It seems only the Brits like you are willing to suffer for some village in Eastern Ukraine.
The leader of the new government in Italy has also given her full support to Ukraine.
I think its you who is naive. Putin has huge support in Russia while European governments are falling like cards because the people are waking up to realise their leaders are puppets.
Please learn to read basic English before calling others deluded. I wrote thousands of aircraft.
Russian soldiers are braver and better fighters than British soldiers.
Youve been stating Ukraine have won for months now, yet Russia controls nearly 1/5th of their so called territory, while Ukraine is in ruins and perhaps your grandparents and those of many Brits are freezing in their homes.
Get with reality not fantasy.
Of course a despot who controls the media, doesn’t allow rivals to campaign, and assassinates hundreds of critical journalists is going to remain in power. Whereas democracies with freedom of their press change their leaders when their electorates change their minds.
Is this really the model of government that you want?
