I'll say it before anyone else gets in there...

Wow look at those stills of him batting, it's just like Tendulker in his early days! :inti

Nobody knows he is good or not. First still looks good though...

I think he is enjoying being sachin's son ..travelling and playing cricket at places normal people wont be allowed..

practising at lords at the age of 12?

I have a feeling that this dude might end up like Rohan Gavaskar... Decent cricketer, but no where near as talented as his dad...

Rarely do famous cricketer's sons pan out the way media and people like them to be....

But if he does have talent like his dad, then he is gonna be rocking the world :sachin

India might throw a surprise by opening the innings with Jr.

Lol Imagine if he turned out like his father, the world would have to praise a player named Tendulkar for the next 35 years. :))

^ no hate, it's all in good fun

Tendu is hardly an unlikable personality.

Too much pressure on the kid. Will probably end up like Rohan Gavaskar. or Chris Cowdrey.

That said, what a lucky kid being able to practice with the likes of Rahul and Sachin.

Sachin will retire only after his son gets the opening slot in ODI's.

The kid's first shot looks picture perfect:)

Will be immense pressure on the kid, if he pursues cricketing career.

i know being harsh on the kid.......but his bowl barely reaches Raina ..

but i've seen quite pacey 12-13 year olds in Pakistan Village cricket.......:akhtar

Perfect technique in that first pic.

Looks like a left handed Tendulkar.

Sadly, the expectations that will be placed on his shoulders (if he goes all the way) will be unlike anything anyone has seen.

He is likely to fail due to that pressure. If he still makes it big then it'll show that he's true class like his father.

These mum/dad kids from karachi to Mumbai don't even get the time to refer to the coaching tips given by their expensive coaches like Rashid latif, Prasad etc, the moment a paindu kid like Aamir starts bruising their fragile bodies by throwing rockets towards them while bowling.

The only thing such kids are good at is to eat your brains out by trying to impress you with the geeky knowledge that they have managed to collect from their thousands rupees / month coaches :D

Respect to the raw talent found in the down to earth northern areas of Pakistan!

i think it has to more with cricketing culture also..

first of all we play very limited over (5-10 0vers) tape-ball cricket....

now the batsmen are trying to slog every ball for a SIX :afridi....and since its a tape ball, so no seam movement, the bowlers are trying to bowl as fast as they can (and the bowlers know that fielders mostly sucks so they try to clean bowl the batsmen :waqar)

typical bowler to basten banter would be "TU meere saamne aa main teerian lattan panna" (come and see how i break ur legs).........and ofcourse u need pace to do that

these culture translate perfectly into the national team...........lack of patient/technically sound batsmen :moyo......good sloggers :afridi :razzaq........poor fielding :kaneria and running between wicket :inzi..........and endless supply of pacemen :akhtar :amir

Also, endless swagger and x-factor wether it's the fast bowling or slogging, something that you rarely find with the other lot

comp agreed- in fact thats how I have always seen pak cricket. Once I saw videos of tape ball tournament etc on youtube and saw how big it is in Pak - it all makes perfect sense!

Its good if Sachin is trying to groom him and hopefully he'll inherit Sachin's spirit and love for the game. He can get the skills but unless he has that he won't make it Internationally.

but he looks quite big to his age unlike Tendulkar who looked very boyish at 16. Probably the effect of modern day fast food :) :)

Children of Legendary Sportsmen rarely follow their parents in terms of quality ...

Pele & Cryuff 's sons were mediocre .

Sachin was a middle class kid - his son is filthy rich- Personally I think that makes a big difference as well.

Sachin used to do 4-5 batting sessions in one go (as practice), spending whole days playing cricket.

Can someone rich like his son do the same?

too many other distractions for his son as well- hanging out with gf/friends- too much money to burn etc.

might be getting ready for IPL.

Whats Azhar's son doing? he was meant to be a fast hitter as well?

Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun displays skills at Bradman Oval

The son of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and was in action on Thursday at Bradman Oval in Bowral for the Cricket Club of India and by all accounts the Tendulkar junior can play.

Arjun Tendulkar,18, took part in the Spirit of Cricket Global Challenge against the Hong Kong Cricket club with onlookers impressed with the skills on display by the youngster.

The teenager showed promise with bat and ball, smacking numerous boundaries and taking three wickets in the final over of the day.

And Tendulkar’s boy appears to have just as much grace as his old man, with Arjun making time to sign autographs for junior fans at the game.

Tendulkar’s son will line up for the Cricket Club of India in a Twenty20 match as part of the same round robin competition at the SCG on Sunday.

There are rumours that his father may be make the long trip from India just to see his son play at the ground.

Tendulkar is the first overseas player to be given an honorary life membership of the SCG and the legend’s name is all over the honour boards at the ground.

It’s said the Tendulkar family is extremely protective of junior’s privacy with his father making the final decision on interview and photo requests.

Arjun Tendulkar is 18 years old, not even considered for U19 Indian team. Is he not good enough?

If he was any good, wouldn’t he be in the U19 WC squad for India?

Considering the dearth of pace bowling allrounders in India, this guy would have been spotted by Dravid if Arjun was any good.

Steve Waugh’s Son is playing in U19 WC for Aus.

Even Makhaya Ntini's son is playing U 19 WC.

I think Jr.Tendulkar is not good enough.

Nagarkoti and Mavi are very talented pace bowlers and are handy batters. SRT's spawn was not a regular for Mumbai age group teams. So he certainly is not good enough.

Played against our U17 team at our club 2 years back I think. Good lad, good attitude, arrived atleast an hour before his team mates and went through the warm ups with his trainer.

During the match he was decent but there were better players in his team and one from our side. Not surprised he's not made it. One of his team mate now plays for England U19 I think.

Kid shouldn't ever had touched cricket bat - he'll be hunted for rest of his life; should have gone to other career or different sports, tennis may be, his dad used to like that (though this days, it sounds he is more focused in Hockey :) ).

There is something in it - I have seen siblings doing great in sports, but hardly father-son. May be father started from walking on street (often), and son goes to practice driving BMW ............ Pele's son used to be a GK for a 2nd division club.

From what I read, he is talented. Can bowl medium pace and can hit some big shots coming down the order.

He is unfortunate that his dad is Sachin. He will always be compared to his dad and any selection to U17 or U19 or Ranji team or National team will always be questoined as he will be considered a Sifarish guy.

I hope he makes it big. Pace bowling all rounders are a rare breed in India. We almost always produce spinners who can bat.

Rohan Gavaskar probably would have played more for IND, had his surname not been Gavaskar. Richards, Lloyd, Botham's sons all were talented at junior level; but once you are constantly compared with one of the ATGs, probably at one point, failing to match breaks you from inside.

May be not as dedicated as his dad. Didn't we see that with Rohan Gavaskar. OFcourse some did better. Mohinder Amarnath is one. Manju had some decent start. Stuart Binny below average. Stuart Broad has surpassed his dad. Shaun/Mitch M arsh are doing well

He’s had some of the best coaching all around the world from a young age however at 18 you would expect him, if he had real potential, to at least be selected by a domestic side and be playing list A or first class cricket by now. The fact that he hasn’t suggests that he’s not quite good enough. Sure some players develop later than others but those are the exceptions to the rule.
