Dont go yet yaaar! One more wicket to go!

I go away for a while and 5 wickets have fallen!

Some v bad news for UK watchers....NO highlights on Sky Sports! Just checked the scedule online :( I hope I am wrong, maybe they have not updated the schedule.

There were highlights on for the previous semi-final when India was playing against England....even though England got hammered.

Gonna be a good match hopefully - would LOVE it just LOVE it if we could beat them BUT i have to admit their side looks better than ours BUT anything can happen

ppl were saying this is an average Pakistan team and leading up to the tournament they were average so its pretty amazing they are in the final, would be amazing if we can win back to back U19 World Cups

There is no doubt that this Pak side was EXTREMELY weak GA, none of our batsmen were even in top 25 highest scorers in WC before this game. Like always, we did have 2 bowlers in top 5-7 bowlers. Jamshed is now next only to Henriques in the wickets tally, Anwar is also right up there.

inshAllah..........listen GA.......you should know...compare it to real madrid they have world class players all 11 of em........but no team work......all play for indidual performances not as a part of the team......results , we all know.....you put together not world class players but hard working individuals who are willing to fight it out no matter what and they will deliver you the goods ...im saying that for our under 19 cricket team......remember where therez a will therez a way...we have beaten austrailia who are meant to be the best in young talent (Wheres that thread now).........i just wish on sunday both are teams win........i would be more then happy to throw all of you a party :DinshAllah

Pak are improving game by game...inshallah we will do our best.

India's danger batsmen is their sehwag clone Dhiman.
Pujara is their Dravid.

Also, their opening bowlers were right on the money.

If Pak are gonna win this, they need to bat first.

your spot on - if we bat first and we can put up a competitive total up then it gives our bowlers a chance cos our bowling attack does look impressive

Either aslong as they give 100% on sunday thats all you can ask really

congrats pak!! they have a good w/k captain who doesnt stop talking, constantly encouraging his players!

If we bat well we will inshallah win on sunday but we will have to do well to beat india!!

Congratz Pakistan!

They recovered very well today and were exceptional in the field.

I'm sure the likes of Moyo, Razzaq, Kaneria etc, can learn a thing or two about fielding from these kids.

Good game saw the bowling from 23rd over the captain is sure a character always shouting encouraging. I like hes appealing
was very funny.

gonna be another epic and good match between India and Pak. InshAllah Pak will come out top once again and gonna win the title for the second time!

Congratz Pakistan! Indeed!

Your defntly correct on the above bold text, these guys have good legs i remember Micheal holding was saying about National team looked like U19 out the the field instead its the oppsite after watching the Semi's today!!

Shame on the national team - they should be ahead of the game! :30:

I was just checking Cricinfo for the ages of the players - most of the Aus team was 19 whilst the Pak players were around 17

yeah very promising performance. Good fielding and bowling. Only concern is the top order. If top order click inshallah we'll win

Congrats to Pakistan, India are the clear favourites but Pakistan are a dangerous team, I cant wait for it, India batting, bowling and fiedling are on top form, I'm confident if India bats or bowl first they will win.

I'm gonna follow the under19 world cup final, as India already won the odi series in Pakistan in seniors cricket.

saw the end of the game! That Sarfraz wicky/captain of ours seems like a character!

Had me in hysterics!

Wow! I thought the Aussies were going to win the WC but the way they got thrashed by Pakistan it seems India might have a trashing awaiting them as well. Indian batting against Pak bowling - should be a good contest - although the Pak boys seem to be in a dangerous mood so India beware.

The perfect final PAK vs INDIA WOW...
BTW you have some young guns who copy sehwag/dhoni style of batting......and are preety effective....but im not sure whether they are well equipped like sehwag/dhoni will find out on sunday under pressure cooker situation esp thay lad dhani was it..he impressed me!...
anyways couldnt have asked for a better sunday :D

much better runup, action and gets some spin straight away.........micheal beaven like action peeps........or you can say mohd hussain type action if anyone remembers him?
outtttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Imad reminds me of Mohammad Rafique.

Stunning isn't it these boys seem to be humble boys with fire and motivated by a strong captain and don't have a super coach yet they put our senior team to shame.

Maybe the U-19 coach should coach Woolmer?

Did anyone see how they did sajda? It was damn funny, one player did it and then they all start going down, and the last world cup which pak won, one of the players went crazy- did sajda and them tumbled over on purpose haha.

Just seen the highlights of the Pak v Aus U19 semi final, mashallah.. like every Pakistani youth team, we have some real talented youngsters here too..

The players who impressed me were Riaz Kail (this kid easily looked the most talented batsman in this match, right from the 2nd ball he struck powerfully to the boundary), Ali Asad played well, but I liked the look of the new Rameez Raja (he looked a very stylish player and played some gorgeous strokes, until he got run out) .. and Nasir Jamshed also played one or two good looking strokes in his brief stay.

As for the bowling, Jamshed looks a real 'gem'.. far more impressive than left armers Mohammed Khalil or Zahid Saeed did at U19 level or senior level for Pakistan, who were both being tagged as 'the next Wasim Akram'... but Jamshed looks to have some real flare and skill in his bowling - what a prospect he could be for Pakistan.

I also liked Anwar Ali, anyone noticed how much swing he was getting with the new ball?? ! he was making the ball boomerang and that too at good pace!

Its a pity that we no longer have that old Pakistani approach of throwing in the youngsters at international level and letting them learn to swim in the deep end! just look at how well India has done in showing faith in the likes of Yuvraj and Kaif , then Pathan and now you have Suresh Raina -- all came more or less straight out of their U19 teams to play for the national team... and credit to India, they showed faith in their youngsters and today they're rewarding them.

Jamshed looks no less a bowler than Irfan Pathan did at U19 level, he could make a sensational debut against Sri Lanka next month on a helpful wicket if shown the faith, but maybe he will have to break his back for 2-3 years on the flat decks in domestic cricket, be forced to cut down on pace and remodel his action , before he finally gets noticed by our selectors.. :13:

Good analysis Majid, Jamshed is already playing domestic. In fact his bowling partner is Mohammad Irshad who he has outbowled in his short career so far. His form in domestic U19 has been EXCELLENT and bowled well at first class level too.

Waseem, I didn't realise Jamshed had already played domesitc cricket - good to hear that he's done well.

However, I believe some players are just 'made' for international cricket.. and we'll see countless examples of players who do nothing extraordinary at domestic level, but at international level they just look like they belong here and become assets for their teams.

Then there are also players like Graeme Hick, Mark Ramprakash or Misbah ul Haq, Naved Latif (who if I remember rightly, once struck 394 in a first class match) et al who look Bradman-esque at domestic level, but they just dont look 'at home' when they play international cricket.

Fazle Akbar is another case, he's taken stacks of wickets at domestic level but he looks all but mediocre when he's played for Pakistan at international level.

Then you have players who get a chance at international level despite having moderate records at domestic level, but they rise to the occasion and showcase their talents..

Its got a lot to do with motivation - and seriously, how much does it mean to any player to win a match for Habib Bank or Allied Bank ?? hardly something that would make anyone feel passionate or emotional , but when you are playing for your country and you realise it is a privilege that few get, suddenly winning and losing means everything!! especially in countries like India or Pakistan, the players know they are one good performance away from becoming a national hero! :)

Where as some players in domestic cricket feel no matter how well they perform, they will never earn any recongition for it and as for playing at the international level - well, even today many youngsters give up hope because they feel you need to have the right contacts more so than talent and skill, to play at national level..

I really think Pakistan should select young players on the basis of talent, technique, temperament ... and while good domestic performances are important and are evidence to show that a player has talent, these players have to be looked at indvidually for what they are.. just looking at CricInfo to see the list of averages of top run getters and top wicket takers in the Quaid e Azam trohpy which it seems is just what our selectors are doing these days, you won't always make the best judgements..
