Shaheen Shah Afridi replaces Mohammad Rizwan as Pakistan's new ODI captain

Is Shaheen Shah Afridi the right choice to lead Pakistan in ODIs?

Can you stop crying about what’s happened?

Rizwan knew he was being replaced well before the Test series. It’s not like he has suddenly been told he is being replaced.

I don't buy this. Samaa TV is propogating that he approached Mike Hesson and requested him to appoint a new captain after the CT Fiasco, if that is the case why would he not resign publically?

We will know the details soon enough. Here are some facts however…

10 people sat in the consultation meeting, all 10 voted against Rizwan and in favour of Shaheen as captain.

What does that suggest?

To me, given what I have observed about a chaotic PCB over the years, all it suggests is that the same 10 people may well turn around and vote against Shaheen and again in favour of Rizwan tomorrow.

Or maybe the meeting was a smoke screen and the decision had already been made.

Misbah is the biggest beghairat insaan you will find, on tv he talks about systems, processes, preperation and that a captain needs to be given a long run, should have a say in team selection but he has already backstabbed Mickey Arthur, Sarfaraz Ahmed and now Mohd Rizwan. On top of that he is getting Rs 5 million as a mentor from the PCB for doing nothing and isn't even willing to resign now that the system has been scrapped. This guy will do anything and everything to get a paycheque from the PCB.

Sarfaraz Ahmed on the other hand is probably bitter and upset that Rizwan took over his spot and ended his career therefore not surprised to see him settling scores by getting Rizwan axed and eventually booted out from the team.

Forget everything, after our diabolical home tournament with the CT which was a once in a generation opportunity, how can anybody who genuinely wishes well for Pakistan Cricket be upset with Rizwan’s sacking?

If you’re advocating for someone, then be objective with what they’ve actually achieved as a leader and what sort of long term vision / talent growth initiatives have they employed?

There are players such as Jimmy Anderson who have been asked to step aside for the long term benefit of English cricket, that’s Jimmy Anderson who earned the right to do as he pleased really, what have these blokes you worship actually done for Pakistan, it’s nothing except serious damage.
No captain could had anything with that pathetic squad forced on to them.

Rashid gets it anyway, some very strong hints there about the removal of Rizwan, clearly religious and ethnic reasoning. Shaheen is lucky he is a Lahore Qalandar player, lives in Lahore and has connections to Shahid Afridi otherwise he would have been long scapegoated and booted out
Can’t see much difference between Shaheen afridi and Imran khan in terms of their Lahore background although I think Imran was actually born in lahore

Hopefully Shaheen can emulate the great man

Personally not a fan of having a fast bowler as a captain for many reasons

I feel with shaheen or fast bowler they will take bad reviews in particular off there own bowling
Shaheen considers himself as a all arounder, granted he can hit some big shots but he is not a full on proper all arounder, feel he might just promote himself up the order when not always necessary

Him playing most of the matches and lead to injury and we would need him to avoid injuries as much as possible, speaking on injuries, i do not know if it is announced but who is the vice captain of the ODI side, in the event Shaheen gets injured or rested who is the vice captain.

ODI is long game, i do not think Shaheen is a good thinking captain, I can be wrong, but I do not think he is fit for ODI captain

Regardless, we will have to back him and hopefully he gets a proper chance, to captain the side.

Yes, because you are dishonest

So we need proof to take you seriously. We have established you are not trustworthy with your claims but you assert them with real conviction

Where has Kirsten openly blamed Aqib for his exit??
You sure love using the word “lying,” don’t you? You throw it around every time you reply to my posts, probably hoping it’ll somehow make your own trolling less obvious. Hate to break it to you, but it’s not working and you must be talking about yourself, probably thinking about how I exposed you recently for your nonstop trolling and made-up stories. Should I send you the links to those threads where you completely lost it and started imagining things I never even said?

And what’s this “we” nonsense? You mean you and your imaginary friends? Or that same little group of trolls who show up to echo your nonsense and think they’re being clever? Lmao.

By the way, in June, Gary was on the Wisden podcast, yes, the same one you’re pretending doesn’t exist and he said plenty. Try googling it (if that’s not too much effort for you) along with all the other clowns claiming Gary never spoke about his resignation. He made things quite clear in that interview.

The fact is, Gary resigned because Naqvi and Aaqib were busy playing politics and came across as corrupt individuals who’d go to any length to push Gary and Gillespie out of Pakistan cricket.

Anyway, no more replies from me, you keep replying to my posts and quoting me every time just to get my attention. I get it, you’re obsessed. But sorry, not feeding that anymore. Carry on with your usual nonsense.
