He has been included in the Pakistan squad for the 3-match T20I series vs England but to me that is madness. After this Test series, he should be rested and he should be preserved for the longer format of the game.

Shouldn't have been part of the squad in the first place & shouldn't get a game. He has played very little(almost nothing) LOs cricket, should be reserved for Tests only atleast for next couple of years

I think he should play. Needs experience and wickets under his belt which is important for his confidence. But monitor his workload and rest him from meaningless inconsequential games.

i think he has been added to make up the numbers. Misbah did say that the dvanage of having a big squad is to add more players.

By adding Naseem they are indicating that he is part of the plan for t20 in future but might not being playing t20 now as he is very down in the pecking order.

Why not? Just moniter his workload properly. He deserves to develope his LO game.

I wouldn't pick him. Even in PSL he was mediocre at best. Let him focus on tests.

No. We got Amir and Wahab for the format already.

Pak is putting too much pressure on Naseem's physique. Need to be careful.

I woukd say No, he has been targeted today by the English batsmen and he has not responded very well.

Lack of variation in his deliveries, inability to bowl a yorker or limit runs makes puts a serious question mark next to his name.

3 back to back Tests and then picked for the T20I series.

Ridiculous decision.

Naseem Shah should play T20 Cricket. Should he play after playing 3 tests in a row?

He should certainly not play the 1st T20.

The bigger question is why isn't Usman Khan Shinwari in this squad.

Besides Babar Azam, No one from the test team should or have been a part of the T20 team. As for Naseem I would rather see him play the longer formats personally.

But overall I think the coaching staff should have managed Shaheen and Naseem much better, specially since they played 3 tests in a number of days and not playing cricket for a couple of months.

Needs to get wickets. Wickets provide confidence.

I don’t think he will see fear in the eyes of English white ball batsmen who are monsters. So no I don’t think he should play.

If he wasn't quite ready for tests (think that is well established now) then there's no way he should play white ball cricket against England in England.

We've successfully ruined Musa's trajectory and the same will happen to Naseem very quickly if we keep dumping our 'potentials' in at the deepest end of cricket.

He looks mentally exhausted; 18/19 year old who's been away from his family, 4k miles away for 2+ months.

Send him home after the Tests. We have others like Rauf and Husnain who are fresh and ready to go (along with Amir and Shaheen)

As for playing T20Is which the title asks.

He should do in future, but shouldn't after playing 3 Tests in a short space of time.

They need to look after him. He is a rough diamond — let’s not ruin him by over-hyping him or over bowling him.
Holding said a good thing on commentary in one of the last matches— his coach wouldn’t let him bowl (or any other teenager) bowl more than five overs per innings. Whilst people comment on Naseem’s age, one thing that is clear is that he is young, very young

No way. I can’t believe the management has played him in back to back tests, then they have picked him T20’s. He should be kept out of this format for now.

I think he should be rested. His confidence will be low, a break will do him good and allow him to work on his deficiencies

He’s only taken 1 wicket hauls, struggled to bowl quick and also conceded a 100, and that’s in test matches after being hyped up as having genuine pace and as a potential match winner V England by Misbah and co.

After all this the last thing he needs is to face Butler, Hales and co in a T20 match to get whacked around for sixes and shatter whatever little confidence he has left.

I agree he should be rested, however, saying he should never play T20I cricket is a stretch. That’s his best format and if he’s going to play any format at the moment he should be playing T20I’s since that’s his best format, and he’s still got a lot to learn in Tests.

Well really more like only 2 test matches because he only bowled like 5 overs in that 120 over test match.
