As OP has conclusively proven that this is Pak's WC, I am beginning to get worried about the 16th of May.
 
Enough of these omen. We are not going to win anything. Accept it now, like i have and save yourself from the inevitable pain and disappointment when pak goes crashing out of this wc!

had so much hope even though we lost the England series that we will be able to turn up when the first match of the world cup comes around but not in my worse imagination did I think we would be humiliated by a very average west indies team
 
Would it help if India get thrashed in their opening match just to sooth your hearts?
 
I'm more heart broken coz my Friday has been wasted.
I was going to watch the match with my friends after Jummah but we barely watched anything.

relax guys:
a) its a game, not everything in life.
b) its the first game and only 1 out of 9 for this world cup
c) pakistan can still make it to semis if they win 5-6 other games, so all is not lost
d) we have made it to playoff stage multiple times after losing in such manner to WI and other teams in early phase of world tournamenets (92, 2015, etc.)
e) there have been much worse feeling heart breaking performances and losses in the past, think t20 world cup final vs india, 96 quarter final, 2011 semi final, 2015 quarter final (Rahat drop), sydney test loss, etc. In comparison this is just one game at beginning of tournament, so while it hurts, no need to feel so down.

lastly, i am honestly less bothered and sad about the loss itself, but more about the lack of fight and willing to play all 50 overs. i really hope there isn't any team spirit issue within team as that would be bigger issue and affect whole tournament besides dealing with cricketing skill gap between us and other teams.
 
Sad to see how Pakistani team has become a meme and laughing stock of the world.

Rain saved us in the 1992 World Cup while a no ball and a dropped catch saved us in the CT.

I suggest people to take this sport as a game, perhaps jump on the England train, they are the most deserving of this. England has worked for 4 years, they need to win in front of their countrymen and get back the viewers they lost to football, it could even put cricket back on free to watch TV.

If we manage to beat England in the final or semi final then it will certainly be bittersweet, but if we get to that point without luck then I will take it. I for once want to see some clean cricket from us, no chuckers, no luck, just a good ride.
 
Lol you can’t compare 1992 to now. Then we had match winners all round and our greatest captain who lead from the front. A street fighter vice captain, a great young fast bowler and some other greats making their marks. We were slow to start then because of injuries.

Now we have a rubbish captain, no real match winners and a pretty clueless spineless team. They can’t bat bowl field catch run and have no common sense. No mental toughness or temperament. This World Cup is doomed for Pakistan.

And even if he does, he does not send voices to others, telling them about results of Cricket World Cup.

Bro, god also spoke to me, told me Babar will become our best batsman of all time back in 2012, told me that I will become a millionaire and that Pakistan will left the World Cup trophy in 2023.
 
Lol by the logic of some we were going to win 2015 because it was played in Australia like 1992 and we wore the same colour kits.

Only way you will guys know when everyone has written off Pakistan, it is all doom and gloom for Pakistan, all of a sudden God changed the quadratics for Pakistan.

And what is so special about this World Cup that he is willing to change the quadratics?

Perhaps its Sarfraz that is more endearing to God than Wasim Akram, Inzimam Ul Haq, Misbah ul Haq etc.,?

It must be said that there are always going to be some bad games, I just didn't expect one this soon and this bad haha. Actually before today's game they were building it up, and mickey was saying in this recorded segment the distance between the good and the bad of this team has gone better, loooool. I had thought that too after hearing that, until today! lol
 
For us to go progress some of the of the major teams will have to lose to WI/AFGHAN/BANG/SL. And we must win some of our tough games lol.. I feel we may lose to bangla, possibly SL. It's going to be a tough world cup :D.

Nice fun this thread.

CWCs of the past had groups and a team had to scrape through a group to reach KO stage. But this time its 9 matches for each team b4 KO - and so consistency is the real key. By the end of 45 games each team woulda been crushed, filtered, distilled, hot iron pressed, drowned, asphyxiated... So is my fav team up for this challenge, each one of us needs to ponder..

Everything is going according to plan. Just as I predicted earlier, after losing to West Indies, we’ve won our second game. Now we need to lose our 3rd game against Sri Lanka in order to keep the pattern going. Let’s all pray for a loss

One more similarity : In 1992 a new country made its debut at world cup and had 'A' in its name( South africa). This world cup "A"fghanistan make its world cup debut.

Imran couldn't do it in 1983, 1987 and finally did it in 1992.

Wahab couldn't do it in 2011, 2015 and will finally do it in 2019

Pak won’t reach the final ( we all know they aren’t that good) but if they do and meet eng, Pak will probably beat eng again!
 
ICC should see this thread and should just hand over the trophy to Sarf, thats the only way Sarf can ever lift the trophy!

This team don't have wasim , inzi, and miandad but surely have better players than ramiz Sohail, Saleem, and aqib
 
In 1992 we beat Sri Lanka and the other weak side, Zimbabwe...

So there is absolutely no similarity whatsoever....

If there was, it’s been three games and really it’s time to move on from this superstitious garbage..

I don't believe in silly similarities like these ones. That team in 1992 had in IK, Wasim and Miandad three world class players. Conditions in Aus are different to England. This team has no world class players at all, not even one.
