Looking at the way WI are batting and Pakistan are bowling these days, I can see a 10 wicket thrashing coming Pakistan’s way this Friday (1992 style).

Hahaha. While other teams plan on winning the world cup through their skills, Pakistan always hopes on winning through Ramazan, numerology and history. Amazing.

The 1999 team was the best on that tournament and should have won the event. They collapsed in the final with a dodgy batting innings. Probably the best squad assembled by Pakistan in the World Cup ever. Waqar was 12thman. A team that had Wasim Shoaib Saqlain inzamam Afridi and Razaq.

To give an validity to similarity to 1992, for Pakistan, it is imperative to go through 10 wicket loss in the first game. Anyone want that? :)) :))

No.. this is a good way to soothe the heart, but we will lose all matches. Maybe eek out a win against Afg and SL.
 
That was a 10 wicket defeat if I remember correctly! Pakistan was meant to win that World Cup as the divine interventions were beyond belief!

All the way from the rained out match when shot out for 74 to Australia beating West Indies in their last game to put Pakistan in the semifinals
 
Next match is England, I wonder what will be the reasoning once we get the eventual thrashing :jk
 
I already told you that God spoke to me and Pakistan would lift the world cup. Also, there was a thread that was asking for a result between Pakistan vs West Indies. I said it did not matter as Pakistan was going to lift the world cup anyway and Wahab Riaz was going to be the cornerstone of delivering a final punch when it mattered. I still stick to my voice.

It is just one match.

I think Pakistan scored 220 in that game? This one is much worse in this day and age of 350 par pitches. Also, the team had way more quality back then with some ATG players and captain.
 
I don't believe in such silly omen's. In the WC the West Indies have a brilliant record against us then why only mention 1992?. They have beaten us about six or seven times, we have a few wins over them as well.

you are aware that team was a winning side..they were almost unbeatable at times..when they lost to the windies it was surprise and we were blighted by injuries...imran, waqar, miandad etc..plus we had a captain who was a winner..this team is a soft marshmallow team..i mean Imad and haris are marshmallow players..soft pudgy and weak..

That team was leader and bowler like Imran Khan followed by our best fast bowler W Akram. Then Aquib , Mishtaq and batsman like S Malik, Miandad and M Khan as wicket keeper. This team doesn't have anyone to match them.
We will loose all the matches.

Strange thing is "We came here a month earlier played 9 matches which include team like England where most of the team played highest 2 matches with few days stays still we don't familiar with the condition. This team doesn't have any merit."
 
OP is fishing. However for those who actually believe the 92 rhetoric that'll inevitably be spouted by the pundits:

Difference is we had Imran, Inzamam, Wasim, Sohail, Salim etc playing then...
 
Pakistan are slow starters specially in major tournaments.. if they can gather momentum as we go along it will be better than stating hot and cooling down as we progress..
 
We lost our first match in 2007 as well which was also against the West Indies

Let me quote another recent example so you guys understand that I am not making things up.

I am a full time student in Germany. I am going to do a three week exchange program in NYC. My visa at US consulate was scheduled on May 17. I would also need to renew my resident permit card. Local immigration office sent me the letter to come with my blocked account information, original passport, insurance proof etc. It was scheduled on May 20.

I was studying in the library on May 10 , I am quoting exact words " Gye Aapka visa lag gya hai apnee appointment date change ker wa lein " I heard this voice on a very subtle subconscious level(very hiss thing voice) so then I called local immigration office here in Soest, germany to change my date to May 14 (as I was sure that US Consulate in Frankfurt would keep my passport as per the instructions of this voice).

I had my family immigration filed so I had to mention it on a visa application and all my brothers emmigfrated there on student visas.

The interview day came, Visa officer asked me 20 questions, 5-6 questions were full of traps. At the end of the interview she did not make an eye contact with me. While I was speaking her head was down, totally submissive.

For just a three week short course on digital marketing she granted me "five years f-1 visa".

Do you say that it is all hogwash that I am speaking out? I am a muslim so I do not even know what Christian pastors beleive in or what kinds of religious acts they pull off in churches or elsewhere. I have zero information about other religions.

I can quote a lot of example sof this voice speaking to me.....but it is very personal and I can not be open about it with everyone.

This is what people do in desperation, clutch on to staws, coincidences. Even in the 1992 WC, that team was in very red hot form, it had faced the best teams in the world in the form of West Indies, Australia, won many close die hard games and by the time it arrived in the 1992 WC it was battle hardened. Plus that team had IK leading it, there is no one in the present team with such aura, personality

Whatever man. I am an average Joe then you are casting doubts on my ability. However, if a Prophet had forcasted thousand years ago how world would be ending up. Even though you did not see him in reality, what kind of world has existed during those times but still you believe in his words blindly as a follower.

That windies loss had a lot to do with Ramiz's selfish century but yes that was still a way way better squad than this. More importantly ODI cricket was a lot different back then and both that style of game and the conditions in Aus/NZ suited our strengths. And of course there was Imran and his relentless even pigheaded self-belief that made a huge difference. A softer captain like Sarfaraz or even someone more logical or less stubborn than Imran might have failed to lift the team from such a situation.
 
All these 92 superstitions are cringeworthy. Imran Khan was the captain in 92, we also had Inzi,Wasim,and Miandad. I can't think of a WC winning teams in recent years who didn't have 4/5 world class players.
