Similarities between 1992 and 2019 | Are we winning again?

There’s even an article about it on a very famous website.

If we chase this down by 7 wickets, it will be another similarity.
 
just checked wc 92. PAK won by 7 wickets against? HOw is this similarities possible to the dot :O

I mean look at the details. Same batting 1st and bowling. Same losing by wickets and runs. And a rain out game at exactly the same match.

Nope. The way Guptil ran out Haris, it had shades of Jhonty running out Inzi in 92. Hopefully Haris will play match winning knocks in semi final and final.

* Pakistan actress Anjuman got married in 1992, she did it again a few days ago in 2019.

* Pakistan become the first team to beat New Zealand in the World Cup 1992, and in 2019.

* Pakistan, back then too, beat New Zealand on a Wednesday - as was the case yesterday.

The Anjuman one and the one about Zardari being in jail even now takes the cake! :)) :)) :))) :)))

* In World Cup 1992, Jonty Rhodes ran out Inzamam exactly the same way as Guptill ran out Haris Sohail yesterday. I know [MENTION=133760]Abdullah719[/MENTION] has posted this above already, but this is just not fair! I said this to my sister even before the decision was referred to the third umpire, and even messaged @UP right away. So I take this!

* In the 1992 and in the 2019 World Cup, the Man of the Match award from the India-Pakistan match went to a Brahmin, Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma respectively.

* In 1992, it was England´s Botham´s all-round display which was making all the headlines, in 2019 it is Ben Stokes.

* 1992 was the last time that England were strong contenders to win the World Cup, and they´re again so in 2019 after so many years. In between these editions, no one even took a look at England.

* In 1992, New Zealand had a player named Martin (Crowe), and in 2019 they´ve Martin Guptill. It´s all in the Martins, fellows!

* In 1992, Australia´s captain´s first name began with an A (Allan Border), in 2019 they´ve Aaron Finch as captain, and again the first name starts with an A.

Okay, this is stretching is a bit. You need to take a chill pill. This is like saying in the 1992 world cup we had a player named Amir and we have one now as well. Also, Malik. .. I mean there could be so many more but these could also be for other world cups.

It isn't actually. India and NZ would have to lose both of their matches so England would get to 12, then Pakistan has to win both of their matches to draw even at 11 and qualify on NRR, which I don't see happening given India's positive NRR.

Pakistan could make semis but highly doubt they will win it.
Unless the pitch is a dry turner they will be the weakest of the 4 teams in all 3 departments of cricket.

So I´ve confirmed this from a highly reputable source that Tendulkar is indeed a Brahmin surname, and actually, even my Google search suggested the same.

I suppose Sarfaraz got bored with all these similarities, so he yawned - something which Imran Khan didn´t. Now, the next world cup winning captain will yawn to bring in a similarity with Sarfaraz. It´s all scripted you know, with minor changes to the flow.

I´ve been mentioning this at home since yesterday, and this scares me a little. A ninth group stage match is just not part of the pre-laid plans. So we´ve to be careful here.

I think if Bangladesh wins versus India then they have a good chance of knocking us out.

I had a dream as well, Babar scored 153 yet we still lost... Similarities ended.

Guys, I read somewhere that in 1992 too, an Indian opener got injured and was ruled out of the rest of the tournament. Is it true?

The similarity here obviously would be with Dhawan having got injured and subsequently being ruled out of the tournament after two-three matches.
