Did anyone seriously think Modi was going to quit having been trounced in the opening spell? His reputation will stand or fall on a military victory. I said this as soon as the first skirmish happened and before any prisoner release which I feel made no difference other than it made Pakistan look more reasonable.

I know any death is sad but let’s have some confident in IK starting what appears to be resolution with the world watching.

We have acknowledged receipt of India’s dossier of evidence that came after the pilot was captured and not before. IK has also returned the pilot and he and his senior team have all been quoted globally as saying they want dialogue with India.

There is no doubt that we have the courage to retaliate against the Indians but I would encourage restraint if possible. The world is watching and India is under pressure to engage or they will lose global support and the battle of hearts and minds, which in the bigger picture is more important.

I understand you are upset about what has happened in the past but the point you are missing is IK is trying to change things for the future and has no control of what’s gone on before him. It’s harsh but you need to get over it the same way we’ve had to get over our losses.

I don’t know the answer but a logical explanation is that his hands are probably tied, I don’t know the ins and out but maybe this Azhar guy has intel on Pak or something. He can’t be blamed for past mistakes.

I am opposed to AFSPA.. but that's my personal viewpoint. I will talk about Army atrocities in not only Kashmir but NE and other areas too.. but then it's a separate topic.
