What's new

South Africa [189/4] beat India [188/4] by 6 wickets in 2nd T20I to level series

Chahal getting phainty. DOn't think he really think he knew what that felt like up till now

23 runs of that over.... but but but this guy is better than Shadab :sree

I know the ball is wet and difficult to grip, but Chahal is brainlessly tossing up the ball. Klassen is happy to slog them.

Tricky for SA, they will have to try to get 8 an over and also not lose a wicket due to the DLS

No. You can have a bad day but THIS bad.

yes bowler can have a bad day but its captain who gave him an over in cruiciap stage to new batsman and also 4 pace overs were left... poor decision by kohli thats all even if he wanted finsh spinners ,raina was must....

All of a sudden they are doing tuk tuk.... man these Saffers really hate winning

Need 10 off this over atleast, otherwise they will choke.

Chump level captaincy from Kohli, giving chahal a 4th over and now bowling unadkat ahead of bhuvi.

Kuch pata nahi SA and BD are two teams that can lose from this situation :))

cricketjoshila I told you a reality check was looming. Not every team will play spin as bad as SA did in the ODI series.

Chalo good game. Always nice to see India lose, but more importantly our number one ranking in T20s cannot be challenged atleast in this series.

Lets see if ABDV and others will come back for the final now that the momentum us with SA.

This is the good old Indian bowling we are so familiar with. They rely too much om Bumrah these days.

Chahal cannot bowl with wet ball. He got destroyed in one of the Rahane n effected odi’s too just like today.

SA won both matches when it Rained. Just shows SA are a great team whof n spinners are nullified.

This should be the end of Unadkat. What a dud this guy is.
Lol at the IPL team that paid million dollars for this mediocre trundler. Every year one useless player gets rich due to IPL.

Say what you will about Kohlis on field antics, he does give credit where its due. Really liked his post CT final interview too.

For a T20I? No thanks. See my posts elsewhere. Don't about T20 internationals.

I am truly cheesed off about not winning the Test series, which was certainly do-able this time.

Yes, that was a missed opportunity. SA’s batting line-up is poor after Kallis and Smith. Amla is on decline. But their bowling is still very good, even with out Steyn. India could have bowled them even more cheaply snd won the series 2-1.

Good chase SA. Great hitting by Klassen. Exciting addition to interntaional cricket. Hope to see him more. De Kock will be under hot seat when he returns

Was it he who was at the receiving end when Pandya and Kohli was really angry after poor fielding (according to them)?

Losing to this second string South African team is shameful for this Indian team

In T20 there is no second string, third string. Just couple of individuals can take the game away. Duminy is a second string player? Infact unkonwn players are more dangerous in this format. Before you devise a plan they would have done the damage already.

SA have found a very good LOI player in Klaassen. Nobody knew who he was until the last 3 days.

Indian selectors shuld learn to blood in youngsters to see if any of them click in these meaningless bilateral T20's.

Oh bugger off...
South Africa is missing literally half of their first choice players, AB, Amla, Faf, deKock, Steyn etc.

A maiden 50 by Heinrich Klaasen and an excellent finishing job by JP Duminy paved the way for the Standard Bank Proteas to level their KFC T20 International Series 1-1 against India after a six-wicket win at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Wednesday night.

Chasing a tough 189 for victory, the hosts reached their target with eight deliveries to spare and in the process ensured that Saturday’s final match of the tour will decide the outcome of the three-match contest.

Rookie Klaasen and captain Duminy were key to ensuring that their side avoided too many bumps along the way in wet conditions on the Highveld, with the former blasting a fearless 69 off 30 balls (3 fours, 7 sixes) and the latter completing the job with an unbeaten 64 off 40 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes).

It was a fine chase and came after the South Africans conceded 188 for four after winning the toss and bowling first.

They opted for an unchanged line-up from the first game, but apart from the first two overs that cost eight, the tourists then started to pile on the pressure.

Two quick wickets, including that of in-form skipper Virat Kohli for a rare duck to Junior Dala (2/28), did help pull India back to 45 for three at the end of the powerplay overs, but that was as good as it got for the home side.

A career-best 79 not out (48 balls, 6 fours, 3 sixes) by Manish Pandey and a dazzling 52 (28 balls, 4 fours, 3 sixes) by MS Dhoni helped India end with a flourish as the pair added an unbroken 98 for the fifth wicket.

Dala was the pick of the bowlers for the Proteas.

India began strongly by removing Jon-Jon Smuts (2) cheaply, but Reeza Hendricks provided a bit of momentum with his 26.

Klaasen, a revelation since taking the gloves from the injured Quinton de Kock, once again stepped up to the plate by planting the visiting attack all around his home ground.

He was especially harsh on one of South Africa’s chief tormenters in the limited-overs series, Yuzvendra Chahal, taking him for five sixes as he travelled for a costly 64 in four overs.

Along with Duminy, the pair put on 93 for the third wicket and by the time Klaasen fell, just over 50 were needed.

Behardien (16) helped his skipper to get most of them in steady drizzle and draw the series level ahead of the trip to Cape Town.

Amla, dekock and steyn are first choice players for t20s?

Wow didnt know that

while dekock and amla doesnt perform well in t20s steyn is of age and havent shown any good perfomance in t20s in a while (tho all of these are good for odi

But yes ABD and faf are first choice t20 anyday, yet given current form in test and odi series,, even u may not think they could have performed better than kalseen and hendricks

And alos this new saf bowlers seems good in speed and line, with some more work they will come out in open soon

For all those people showcasing This saf team comparable to SL, BAN is outrageous, this still is very good team for t20s and can defeat or give hard time to anyteam currently

Given india did try shardul and unadkat and putting out bumrah, this loss isnt out of blue and totally acceptable

Only point one can critisize india on is virat kohli keep giving chahal bowling knowing any other bowler even raina or himself could have done better...

Instead of putting down team, why can't everyone just appreciate the team that did well. They batted fabulously with intent. Klassen will be a hit in the IPL next season.

AB was in o so great form in the ODI lol AMla would have been helpful for India. STeyn is a T20 legend? If De kock had played in place of Klassen India would have won handsomely. we missed him badly lol

Good performance from SA. Seems like "Rain" is the key word they need to hear to come up with good performances.

23 runs of that over.... but but but this guy is better than Shadab :sree

no bowler can be comfortable in wet conditions if it's drizzling consistently, he is better than shadab we will talk when shadab out performs them in their performance in South Africa
