What's new

South Africa end Day 3 of the 1st Test on 187/4 with a lead of 29 runs

Dar gave de Villiers not out against India in an ODI when he edged it to second slip.

He has made some brilliant decisions over the years but his bad ones are so bad that even a 10 year old would do better.

From no where faheem is troubling the batsman this is not good for out batters...

At this point all you can do is laugh. The script is so predictable now, expect Rabada and Nortje to blow these away in the 4th inns.

Crucial day in whole match tomorrow now that S.A have gone back on par, Pakistan dont want to be chasing to many on day 5.

Pak just don't know how to dominate test anymore. The amount of times they have blown things from winning positions is all too common now

South Africa needs to bat until Tea tomorrow to win this test match. I'm enjoying their display of resilience and batting.

The end is near for Misbah and Waqar.

The next 18 overs will decide the game. If South Africa is only 1-2 down by the time we take the second new ball, they are going to score quickly against Shaheen and Hassan and take the game away from Pakistan.

Pakistan needs a collapse with the old ball here.

Looks like a final nail in coffin for this coaching team lol. Babar is the biggest culprit of this game tho imo, should’ve stood up on Day 1 and that catch earlier today really should’ve been taken. Oh well

Very much on the back foot now, Pakistan. Babar's drop is proving to be very costly.

We’re close to minnow level SA gifted half their wickets first time around or the match would already be beyond our reach Yasir has to do something quickly.

Who dropped it?

Come on you know it very well too that they will be getting 350 lead by tea tomorrow and declaring.

Nauman is bowling to the same rough as Yasir. That's why you needed Sajid to create a different offie angle. And he's got a unique action too. Nauman is easier to negotiate.

I don’t think Nauman’s wickets tally will reach his official age of 34.

But I am happy for him that he can now retire and call himself a Test cricketer. It took him about 45 years of his life to get there but he did it in the end.

They will take their lead well above 200, and Rabada and Nortje will very likely blow us away in the 4th innings. How have we thrown away such a great position :facepalm

Nauman Ali looks more like 44 than 34. The new chacha on the block.

The way Yassir shah batted shows there’s nothing in the pitch, we should be able to chase 250 realistically

About 12 overs are remaining today.

Pakistan can be back in the game if they get 2 more wickets by today.

The guy seriously looks like in his 40s :))

south africa is a better team , pakistans bowling is very very average. They should win this easily.

These two are set, but Faf is the only important wicket after them.

The others won’t survive against spin/reverse swing.

Flat wicket, ordinary bowling and not much planning. Last two are the controllable factors which Pak has been messing up for sometime now.

Nauman looks older than Zulfiqar a younger spinner should be in line how long will he last doesn’t turn it much as well.

As I have said before, preparing proper turners, the type India produced for South Africa in 2015 is the only way forward for us as long as Yasir is around.

Any other type of pitch and we are severely handicapped.

Aggressive batsmen are more key wickets De Kock and Linde are the batsmen who can score quickly.

The skill gap between Nauman and Jadeja makes me uncomfortable.

Good from Faheem, he is getting some bite from the pitch and unlike Hasan and Shaheen, he can hit the ball hard into the pitch and extract some uneven bounce. I think he is also bowling a few cutters out there. Babar needs to help by setting some inventive fields here.

This obsession with age should stop. The country's best players should PLAY. Doesn't matter if they're 15 or 50. Yes, there needs to be young players development but that is what Shaheen tours are for. Nauman should be judged after the match.

It's not nice to rub it in when your team is on a high. But can't help thinking back to some of the arrogant statements over the years by some posters here. Imagine an Indian bowler who turned up looking like that :))) And the comments here

Shaheen is bekaar with old ball

Nauman Ali or Dr Nauman Niaz.

Both look the same age to me.

Please, no. A nice fast bowling showcase for the next match would be great.

If South Africa are 1 or 2 out by the end of the day , they will be extremely happy. Once SA get over 100 run lead with wickets in hand , I will be extremely worried.

He does look old but tbf looks like he’s in the same bracket as Prithvi Shaw minus the pot belly

We will bat at a run rate of 0.89 in the fourth innings before we die, and fans will open 20 threads to celebrate 150 ball 25 by Fawad Alam and once again tell everyone how he has treated unfairly.

Rizwan will also do his little hit and run game where a mouse creeps into his pants.

That would be the highlight of our fourth innings I think.

Had a feeling this would happen after seeing how easily our tail was batting.

South Africa lead by 16 runs.

Current partnership: 126 runs (303 balls).

9 more overs to go.

We are awful lead of 158 and SA are playing like they are 400 ahead no plan B relying on Yasir to do something.
