South Africa end Day 3 of the 3rd Test at Newlands at 101/2, needing 111 more runs to win the series

Rishabh Pant (100*) is now the highest by an Indian wicket-keeper in South Africa!
MS Dhoni had made 90 at Centurion in 2010
Pant also has the highest score by an Indian keeper in England (114) and in Australia (159*)
 
Elgar should be the decisive batsman. If he stays there, South Africa should win it.

If not, India should win it.
 
Only asian wicketkeeper to score centuries in Australia, England and now in South Africa.
Still some people won't include him in Asia's all time XI in SENA.

I think he is too new to be in the all time XI.

He may make the list after a few years. But, not now.

Pant alone has three tons in three different countries.

He is undoubtedly the best ever wicketkeeper batsman coming from Asia in tests.

Run scored by a batsman other than Pant after 11 overs and out on next ball. Comical batting.
 
Must say we've thrown if not blown a golden oppurtunity to dust off Saffers. But it still aint over yet.
Expect fireworks when our guys come out with the ball in hand

India will not reach its potential as a team if the management keeps playing Rahane and Pujara. Kohli is a stubborn guy.
 
Very poor batting from India here. If one SA batsman gets going, the game is done. SA has a decent chance to chase this.
 
ATG knock by Pant.

Tough wicket to bat and with SA's thin + inexperienced batting line-up, you have to fancy India to clinch the series.

Poppadums will be flipped up and down from Mumbai to Chennai to rejoice their first series win in SA.

I just hope the call centres will still be functioning as I have some calls to make later this week.
 
20-25 runs extra here by not trying to slog by the tail would have helped India, I think SA has a great chance to chase this if one top-order batsman can stay long enough.
 
What a terrible batting performance this (except for Pant). Our top order without Rohit and Gill are almost non existent.

Pant is Sehwag + street smartness.

Look at the way he build this inning and played so smartly. Amazing.

As I type, I hear the loud annoying noise of Gambhir in commies lol.
 
Below names in Indian team have proved to be nothing more than home track bullies.

Ravichandran Ashwin
Cheteshwar Pujara
Mayank Agarwal

And then there is a no track bully in Ajinkya Rahane.

Time is normally not a factor in most SA tests. Same here, it is a question of getting 200 odd runs here. If one batsman can stay on one end and others chip in, these runs can be chased.

Fantastic performance by SA bowlers. I would have liked them to not bowl so many wides. They should have tried to get Pant out rather than deny him runs. Anyway, the target is not too high.
 
SA is going to win the series, thanks to the splendid batting by the Indian top order.....

But Pant's 100 was great to watch, played all the shots, hooks, cuts, drives...

Elgar looks very determined, this means a lot to SA too so they will give it their all to win. Unfortunately our batsmen have let down our bowlers yet again

Well Sir that is not going to make my day. My day ll be made if Proteas chase 212 down with 2/3 wickets left. And put a stamp on this serirs as victors.
 
I think SA is going to chase this down. It's not like that the pitch is unplayable. It's just that brainless batting from both the top and the lower order batsmen. Rahul's 10 runs is the 3rd highest score in this innings.

When we had the batting, back during SRT's days we did not have the bowling.. Now the bowling is firing the batting lets you down, can never strike that sweet balance.....
 
100 runs for 2-3 wickets and SA series victory in sight.

Only a matter of time before India wins a series in SA. Too much young talent. If not this series, then a future one soon. Kohli has proven to be a bad captain with his insistence on playing the veteran batsmen.

There's going to be a mass exodus of several similar aged guys soon. Hopefully the new comers are of similar/better standards. Else we will be evenly balanced, equally useless in both disciplines.

They will in future. World needs Proteas win here because Cricket needs bit of competitiveness otherwise Aus/Ind/Eng will keep having stranglehold on lesser playing nations

Last evening i thot indian batters going to finally step up and seize the moment but they've once again been aweful except pant. SA still in the game it has ensured

Only due to Kohli's stubbornness.

But what can he do! He himself is so dire with bat, how can he crack the whip on Pujara and Rahane?
 
212 is not enough. This is what happens when you play the TTFs like Pujara and Rahane regularly.

Also, Jadeja was missed. Ashwin has proved to be an ordinary cricketer in SENA with no impact. An apology must be served to PP owners for the overhyping of Ashwin as ATG cricketers.
