South Africa won last series between the two at home 3-2 (Including the famous 434 run Chase to win the series) and beat Aussies 4-1 in Australia a few months back. They will start series as Favourites!

Phew!!! What a game!!!

Anyway, back to this series.

So far the sa vs aus "series" of summer action has the tests at 3-3. the T20 at 2-2 and the odi's at 4-1 (sa favour).

Perhaps a fitting end to the summer would be aus to win 4-1?

Has been a splendid summer for supporters, not only from sa and aus but cricket lovers the world over.

Thanx to both sides for providing some wonderful entertainment.

I can see S.A winning whis series 4-1 as well! The symmetry will end!

Aussies off to a sluggish start 14/1 after 6 overs...

Haddin looks out of touch here, but Punter looks in good nick!

Consecative fours for punter off Ntini...

Pace been lifted here by Aussies 49/1.... after 11 overs

Thunderous strike by Haddin for Six off Albie morkel off a free hit!

..But bye bye ponting

Aussies 94/2 - Still going here at a cracking rate!

when's the last time SAfrica lost an ODI series at home, must be against Australia way back.

Yes and they'll probably lose this one the way the pattern of the tour has gone.

20.3 JA Morkel to Haddin, OUT, Horrendous, horrendous mix-up, Hussey's run out, Albie sends down a good yorker, Haddin jabs that towards backward point and took one step before deciding against the run, Hussey was charging down and kept running, both batsmen were nearly at the same end when de Villiers lobbed the ball to Albie, who breaks the stumps at the non-striker's end

DJ Hussey run out 18 (20b 2x4 0x6) SR: 90.00

Haddin 53(60) - M Hussey 0(1)
Aus 114-3 after 21.4 overs @ 5.26

21.5 Botha to MEK Hussey, 1 run, OUT, What is going on here? Another run out, full outside off, Hussey stretches and steers it towards third man, Haddin sets off for the second, Hussey's not interested, Albie throws it from the deep to Boucher, Haddin is yards out of his crease when Boucher breaks the stumps

BJ Haddin run out 53 (60b 6x4 1x6) SR: 88.33

Aus 115-4 after 21.5 overs
Last 5 ovs 21/2 RR 4.20

M Hussey 22(24) - Ferguson 12(27)
Current partnership 34 runs, 8.1 overs, RR: 4.16 (MEK Hussey 21, Ferguson 12)
Aus 149-4 after 30 overs @ 4.96
last 5 overs 25-0

34.1 Steyn to Ferguson, OUT, Steyn strikes, short and pretty wide, Ferguson slashes at it, gets a top edge which flies to Johan Botha at third man, Botha back pedals a few steps to complete that catch, making sure that he doesn't cross the boundary
CJ Ferguson c Botha b Steyn 25 (44b 2x4 0x6) SR: 56.81

Aus 168-5 after 34.1 overs @ 4.91

Who is the host broadcaster for this ODI?

Different commentators from the rest of the series - and they are terible, as are the OSG...

Aus 212/5 after 42.3 overs

275-80 would be decent total here!

Hope is gone.

Steyn gets him

235-6 off 45.3 overs

Is Geoff Lawson commentating?

Just tuned in, very interesting battle here, OZ in with a chance getting 250 here.

Batting track this one, but Steyn here is getting some seroius speed here, wonder how Johson will bring.

Australia 250/7 (47.0 ov)

Should get 270 here... MR Cricket still there....!

Par total here looks about 265-70. Aussies have gifted alot of wickets in middle overs.

Same issues as last series!

46.6 Steyn to Hauritz, 1 run, length ball outside off, 152kmph, Hauritz jabs it towards towards point for a single and keeps the strike

46.3 Steyn to Hauritz, FOUR, scorcher of a delivery first up, 151.1 kmph, that was short, Hauritz manages to get his bat in the way, a thin edge goes past the keeper and runs away for four

Mr Cricket ain't playin against us!!! So form only for this series.

Speed guns were messed up. No way in hell was Steyn bowling at 152 km/hr, it just did not look quick enough out of his hand.

18 runs in last over
Hussey 83(79) - Hauritz 20(11)
Current partnership 43 runs, 3.4 overs, RR: 11.72 (MEK Hussey 23, Hauritz 20)
Last 5 ovs 53/2 RR 10.60
Aus 286-7 after 50 overs @ 5.72

Hauritz played a handy knock at the end, Mr Cricket showing us what a fine tunned batsman at the end and Austrailia have got a decent score here to defend.

3.3 Bracken to Amla, OUT, Amla's walked, extraordinary scenes here, it was wide outside off, Amla opened the face to glide it to third man, it goes through to the keeper, who puts in a muted appeal, there's a half-hearted shout from first slip as well, Amla didn't wait for the verdict, he took his gloves off and set of for the pavilion

HM Amla c Haddin b Bracken 7 (14b 1x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

SA 17-1 after 3.3 overs @ 4.85 - need 270 more @ 5.8

Gibbs in

7.6 Bracken to Gibbs, no run, Bracken keeps pegging away around that offstump, Gibbs leaves that one alone, replays suggest there could have been a faint nick, but there wasn't much of an appeal from the Australians

Gibbs 17(21) - Smith 31(32)
SA 58-1 after 11.1 overs - need 229 more @ 5.89

Don't think we have enough runs in the bank. Dubya has been in very ordinary form.

15.3 Hopes to Gibbs, OUT, Gibbs falls, not exactly the best of deliveries, short if a length and outside off, Gibbs throws his bat at that, hits it very well but Michale Clarke at point takes a good diving catch, that's the breakthrough Australia needed
HH Gibbs c Clarke b Hopes 33 (37b 5x4 0x6) SR: 89.18

SA 91-2 after 15.3 overs - need 196 more @ 5.68
Smith 45(42)

Game can go either way but the Proteas are favourites at this stage

16.5 Johnson to de Villiers, OUT, de Villiers goes lbw, Asoka de Silva rules de Villiers out, there was a big inside edge on that one, it was a back of a length delivery, hit his pads in front of middle but there was bat involved before the ball hit pads, de Villiers can't believe the decision, he shakes his head as he walks off
AB de Villiers lbw b Johnson 2 (6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

SA 94-3 after 16.5 overs - need 193 more @ 5.81

Typical bonehead call from Ashocka De Silva lol.

Shocker de silva, why does this fool continue to be allowed to umpire?

S.A 98/3 after 18 overs...

Smith gone caught and bowled to hauritz!

Huge wicket for Aussies!

110/4

Now 5 down and the Proteas look like a beaten outfit.

Albie Morkel may get a quick 30 or 40 and than its all over

Hauritz bowling well and giving ball plenty of Air! He has two wickets already!

Unless morkel twins get stuck in Aussies should win this!

Botha has come in, i guess Morkel twins been held back just in case!

Proteas should get AB de Villiers to keep, drop the old man Boucher and get an additional specialist batsman

Final nails been hammered into S.A coffin here!

S.A 6 down now!

7 down for Saffers.... All down to morkel twins now....!

Proteas are poor against spin bowling. I saw Duminy get totally bamboozled by spin in s.A's domestic league

Hmm. We seem to have induced a collapse. Boucher and Smiffy need to slap themselves after letting Horroritz take their wickets. Can big hitting Alby smack them to victory?

Morkel twins both trying to impersonate Geoff Boycott and Chris Tavare

This was a good delivery from MJ eh.

Good strike from Johnson on return. One Morkel joins the other. Australia are all over this.
28.2 Johnson to Botha, OUT, ripping short delivery gets Botha! Johnson steams in and bangs in a brute of a short one that fairly kicks up off the track and though an airborne Botha rears his head out of harm's way he cannot drop the hands in time and the ball kisses his gloves before settling in the fielder's hands at gully ... there really wasn't much he could do about that ball .. absolutely vicious snorter
J Botha c MEK Hussey b Johnson 8 (11b 1x4 0x6) SR: 72.72

LOL Horroritz keeps taking wickets

31.5 Hauritz to JA Morkel, OUT, nicely tossed up by Hauritz, Albie was charging down the track, tried to loft it over mid-on, misses the ball and Haddin has an easy stumping
JA Morkel st wicketkeeperHaddin b Hauritz 14 (19b 2x4 0x6) SR: 73.68

Yarpies 8/142 now, fat lady clearing her throat

Steyn gone. Fat lady walking to centre stage

32.1 Laughlin to Steyn, OUT, starts off yet another of his overs with a slower ball, full ball and pretty wide, Steyn was onto his shot early, checks and can only spoon it to Michael Hussey at short cover, that's Laughlin's first wicket in ODIs
DW Steyn c MEK Hussey b Laughlin 1 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Laughlin comes back into the attack

ntini stranded at the wicket as south africa collapse and fold. absolutley murdered by australia in the second innings.

convincing, convincing, victory.

And the fat lady has sung.

33.1 Hauritz to M Morkel, OUT, this match is over, Australia have walloped South Africa by 141 runs, another flighted delivery from Hauritz, very full, Morne tries to slam it over mid-on, doesn't quite get hold of it, it goes high and gives Laughlin at mid-on a catch , Hauritz finishes with four wickets
M Morkel c Laughlin b Hauritz 2 (10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.00

Can't believe Horroritz got 4 wickets. He's a hack!

SA will be kicking themselves, this was a very gettable target.

Pleased to see that some of the new blokes (Ferguson, Laughlin, etc) didn't embarrass themselves.
