Yeah , but its not the moisture though .

Steyn bowled a similar spell before it was called off yesterday . The ball has been reversing for 20 overs now . its the dryness in the pitch which is helping
 
That was a comical leave from Nohit. Left a straight ball on middle stump. No wonder he is called Nohit.
 
Lol at some of the poster knowledge about the pitch over here. It certainly makes a difference even if the pitch is covered. Similarly as a 40 degree sun will bake the pitch even if it is covered

The pitch has some movement in it today. Yesterday there was no movement off the pitch.

It was almost like he decided to leave the ball from the dressing room.
Had he gone blindfolded in the middle,it would not have made a difference!

Only if wickets fall you feel it's swinging and when batsmen score you think it's flat!

On comes Peterson, easy runs for 3/4 overs for India.

If this was Pakistan, he would get a wicket
 
What a spell by Steyn and Morkel. Brilliant

This track will produce a result even with bad weather affecting the game. 300 will be a good 1st innings total.
 
Pollock predicted some swing today because of wind's direction. That maybe playing a part too.

In Rohit's defense, perhaps he left it thinking it will bounce over the stumps given how Vijay got out.

Yeah those sweaty moisture from the cover up getting the ball to have tennis ball bounce all of a sudden... That's a good one kid... :))
 
Tough choice for these two. Should they attack the spinner before the new ball which could be even more deadly on this track?
 
Rohit seems to be complacent with his spot in the team. He don't have the hunger to score

There is always a possibility of the unplayable outswinger with the new ball especially since Steyn has found some rhythm. Besides attack Peterson and Smith will overbowl and tire out his pacers. Happened in the last Test.
 
Hopefully India bundles out under 250 and then SA make sure they bat once.
