Smith 50*
Clarke 92*

How much can the OZ get? Will Steyn be able to bowl? At least the Yarps still have 3 seamers in their team.

I have a feeling this thread will be very quiet today :D

All the talk on cricinfo was that Steyn probably wouldn't bowl again all innings. I'm not sure about that.

Philander
Morkel
Abbott
JP Duminy
Elgar

As far as test quality attacks go, on a flat pitch (I think we can put the myth of all South African pitches being viciously bouncy greentops to rest for some time after this series), that's not too much better than Sri Lanka or India. Australia should look to pile on the runs.

Surely Steyn needs to spend x-amount of time on the field before he can bowl again?

Going to be very difficult this morning. Looks wicked dark and windy and heaps of clouds. Cloudlander is going to go into god mode today

He's not bowling today at all so not sure if he will bowl the rest of the match.

It's cloudy?

Disregard my last post about the South African attack being weak. They're going to shred Australia.

It's very dark and windy and huge cloud cover over the ground and Table Mountain.

Kyle Abbott to open the bowling

Let's see if we turn into bunnies against the moving ball

The clouds hanging over the ground. Cloudlander about to press his IWIN button

Cloudlander getting some outswing already

Cloudlander off cutting it off the seam

Abbott appealing for everything.

Cloudlander strays on to the pads and is driven away through mid on for 4

Cloudlander making the most of the overcast conditions making the ball squirm around

Wonder why Cloudlander is bowling from the end where the wind completely nullifies his swing

Smiffy looks like he is doing it tough at the wicket atm. Doesn't look comfortable

Smiffy gets a single to open his account this morning and keeps the strike

EDIT actually 2 runs

Keep the pressure on Abbott with no wickets so far

They can't break the shackles at the moment

OMG left a ball that went 2 inches over the stumps

Cloudlander too straight again and flicked to the legside for 4 by Smith

I thought Cloudlander would be swinging it more consistently with the overcast conditions, or jagging it off the seam more

Sarthak: "Abott has bowled 4 consecutive maidens since the start of day's play. Clarke has had a nervous stay on 99... Hope he makes a hundred!!"

They really don't want to get Pup his ton

4 for Smiffy

Punishing Cloudlander now, overpitched and driven thru covers

Pup's not going to take any 50-50 shots

Pup is determined not to get out trying to get to his ton

Well deserved century. Now the pressure is off Clarke's primed for a big one.

Aussies dont respect Philander and are not going to let a military medium pacer take their wickets.

ton up for Pup, 27th Test ton well played

Actually they respect Cloudlander which is why they won't let him take any wickets if at all possible. When the cloud cover passes so will the danger I think

Pup smacking Cloudlander around now :four through long on

Mornezilla coming on now to replace the wicketless Kyle Abbott

Smith crunches Mornezilla for :6

Nice and bright and sunny now

Yarpies have wasted the cloud cover

Commie just said "I am surprised SA didn't start with Morkel today - I think they missed a trick"

Why didn't the commies say that at start of the day if they really felt that? Why wait for an hour ?

Cloudlander has raised his ton. Well played mate

South Africa are already in a lot of trouble in this Test IMO.

Suspected the Aussies would do well in this series, if not win it, and that's looking like (rarely for me) a credible prediction.

Because they wanted to see Cloudlander and Abbott fail to take wickets first. Hindsight 20-20 and all that

Morkel going for some bodyline with Clarke

Looks like a crushing defeat is looming for the top ranked side. Again :D

Smith scoring pretty freely now that was a beautiful lofted drive

Get 500-550 then declare I reckon
