South Africa vs India | 3rd test Day 2 | Kanpur| 12/4/2008

Any runs india get here will deflate S.A confidence . Another 30 runs or more and this is india's game. You heard it here first .

so u do beleive yuvraj has got the talent???never seen ya post sumthin slightly positive about yuvraj...

If you had asked me before the Australian tour I would have said lots of positive things about Yuvraj. He looked like a fantastic prospect whenever I watched him, brilliant footwork, technique (especially the cross bat shots). I kept asking friends of mine from India why he was not an automatic selection.....saw he hit 6 sixes, didn't surprise me.

Then he rolled into Australia, looked absolutely clueless against every bowler, gave his wicket away when the Test series was on the line, was out of shape, fielded like Ganguly when he is supposed to be a star in the field...fortunately for India they dropped him for Sehwag and did much better from then on.

Then the Yuvi has the nerve before the 2020 game to say they are going to take it up to Australia and "be aggressive with body language" etc. Fails in the 2020 game and then fails in every single game against Australia before making some consolation runs against Sri Lanka. His most useful contribution was being a tough guy and faking that he was gonna throw the stumps down every time he fielded the ball in gully.

And I tune into PakPassion to discover India think the above run of form is good enough to pick him in the Test team for a must win game against a very good side :20: As I posted before what sort of message does this send to the other Indian batsman trying to get a Test spot? That a bloke who averaged 5 on his most recent tour gets picked?

There you go - that is what I think of the Yuvi. :D

Sky sports isn't showing it anaymore what channel is showing it now???in Europe

spot on.

the most annoying thing about Yuvi is the popularity he enjoys amongst the kids who make up India's cricket watching population.
for fans like these, who've never ever gone to a test match, cricket is all about hitting sixes, cheerleaders and twenty20 cricket.

most of these guys would rather have 6-sixes-in-an-over than a 2-day atherton special.

Games evenly balanced. i dont think india will want to be chasing more than 250 in 4th inns. A big day for the indian bowlers tomorrow.

india with a great chance.
would love to see Ishant pull off a Javagal here.

my predictions - saffers collapse for 197 and Ganguly scores a 50 to lead India to win.

ill say ishant will get a fifer and saf will collapse for less than 150 :D

My guess, Ishant will get 3-4 (top order wickets) and Bhajji running through the side.

My prediction.....
India to win easily.... with Chawla taking bulk of the wickets!

i think his best contribution was kick boxing with bhajji after they got haydunce out in the first final which we won.

this statement suits afridi and his fans perfectly..

Sachin and Dhoni have more fans and more popular than yuvi in india.

I think they were doing shadow boxing instead of kick boxing.

Hope it comes true. Gangu played superb today. Hopefully the tyrant bhajji and novice chawla will spin a web for the SA batsmen.

Hah, someone (2 people) actually read that.

It's going to be tricky for S.A that's for sure . I look forward to tyhe challenge ....for a moment there I was "worried" that S.a would win this series without much effort....well...if they are going to win it now..they need to earn it . I won't miss a ball from here on..that's for sure !

well let's see if they choke or not

Guys the match is still and truly in favour of SA as we have seen that their bowlers have the ability to nip the ball into the batsmen.
What a different outlook this indian team has compared to the 2nd test and probably due to Dhoni being the captain..Hopefully India can win but this will be a huge test of their nerves

Opening stand is key for SA. Our new ball bowlers haven't troubled them at all so far in this series

well my moneys on ishant

i expect him to get early breakthroughs

he looked out of sorts on the first session, but he was very dangerous afterwards

Well , we definitely have a result on the cards here. It is highly unlikely for Saffies to take the series by forcing a draw . They have win here.
I would say India are the favorites here, though i would love to proved wrong. Go Smith ! Go Kallis ! Go South Africa !!

Oh yes I forgot to mention how well Ganguly played today. Ever since I was a kid I have enjoyed watching him jump down the track to spinners and seamers alike and hit them for sixes. A real comeback story , this guy is !!

yea he used to do a lot of those after having like 10 dot balls in a row to make the crowd happy :pissed:

This looks to be a pretty gripping match eh. I reckon SA absolutely need to prevent India from getting to 300. Then they need to bat out some overs - I think a lead of about 150-200 might be enough on the last day on this pitch.

I also rated Yuvraj until the OZ tour when he completely failed to rise to the occasion - I didn't see any positiveness in his body language at all. He looked like he was just there to enjoy the bars and nightclubs (which I'm sure he did). He's a Z-rater and minnow basher. Occasionally he'll get his runs by fluke but I don't think he's a Test or even ODI level batsman. There are much better Indian players around than this bloke.

Even if the last day happens to be day 3 or the morning of day 4?

Well I'll forgive them for not scoring huge on this pitch. India are loaded with spinners who are used to bowling on this type of track. I hope south africa are positive against the spinners...they might lose wickets that way , but it's their best chance to put up a lead of 150 plus ....which could be enough .

India can knock off anything less than 270.

This pitch isnt half as bad as some others I've seen. Low bouncing, but not too variable. A Lankan wicket, actually. Donnyboy should open with Bhajji to tie them down from the get go.

This is a big opportunity for Kallis to strut his stuff. Lets see what the big man is made of.

The probem is that S.A CAN NOT bat on slow and low wickets . A target of 200 will be an amazing performance by them relatively speaking and I think India could chase that down. Anyway....it should be interesting and a huge challenge .

Nice little partnership here for india for the last wicket...28 now the lead....I said earlier anything over or around 50 would be huge .

india riding a lot of luck here...last 4 boundaries have been edges past slips .
