You can see why Shafiq is going to struggle - everything angles straight to slip as if he is trying to give catching practice. He needs to learn to hold a straight bat.
 
Tough for Sarfraz got debut in Hobart and now Joburg....really where as Adnan played 15 on the trot in pre decent batting conditions............
 
He played really well, that was a stupid dismissal.
 
dale steyn and philly ... they are outswing bowlers .. 90% deliveries are leaving

one simple thing you need to do if you dont take two steps in initial movement then take a middle leg guard so that you get close to the ball which is going awAY from the body .... chances of edge minimizes

as it can be seen shafiq middle and offstump is cleary seen when he play away from the body ..

HAfeez has the same prb as an opener..
 
Pakistan need to keep fighting and extend this match for as long as possible. Another 100 runs and a couple of sessions will help confidence for the next test.

Good innings by Shafiq but what a poor shot against the new ball.

Why do we have to bat .. we should have a bowl only format !
 
Really why the hell whe've selected ridiculous Test bowlers like GUlly n Co......these are ideal conditions are for pacers to make debut.......but poor Rahat
 
Gul should swing his bat no point hanging like a statute...........try to cross 250

not about averaging 40+ ....please show me where i said that? as i said even in 3 innings averaging 2.67 shows what a bog standard player he is....lets see how quickly he is back in the hutch here....
 
The ball is doing no more than a new ball is supposed to do. In fact, it's rubbish to say that this is a bowler's pitch. It's not.

not every player gets a flying start and that in tests

Agreed This game is a collective failure on part of both batters and bowlers

Yes agree, but what they are trying to do is play inside the line which works well for full pitched bowls, lets accept that We don't have technique to play swing very few have today
 
21.3 overs 27 runs ....................really even Left arm spinners struggle to achieve this econ. rate.......................
 
If Gul is looking to swing his bat.....then he should do this whole heartedly no point in half shots

wow sarfaraz did better then YK who atleast just nicked it to keeper this guy brought it into stumps LOL
 
Sarfaraz been exposed for the mediocre batsmen he is at this level.

Good fight shown earlier by Misbah/Asad atleast it shows we can fight in these conditions.

The shambolic and shameful 1st inns pretty much cost us any chance of competing in this match.
 
We just don't have the righttechnique to play good fast bowling , heck we even struggled against b.kumar and kulasakera who are no where near steyn's level. We seriously need some consideration in our bastmens technique to counter a swinging/seaming bowl.
