What's new

South Africa vs Pakistan | 3rd ODI | Centurion | Jan 25, 2019 | Pakistan Innings Thread

How does it matter if he won us one game? Shouldn't matter at all. He's an opening batsman playing on a peach of a pitch who has been out there for over an hour and a half played some 50 odd balls and is still struggling to middle it.

I have nothing against him. Just think he should contribute. There's no room for passengers

Yes sure, a newbie winning you a game chasing a 250+ total overseas is nothing, shouldn't matter at all!!

Imam already has shown more character and mental fortitude than most of your stalwarts in the past. Give him time, don't hate for the sake of hating.

This is why babar is your gun player! Dot balls tally building up and the guy effortlesly clears the boundary to rectify that!

Imam has increased his SR from 40-sonen to 70s. Needs to come close to 90 and he has done well.

Misbah-esque half century from Imam. I doubt he will convert it to a ton.

If we somehow score 270 plus, everybody will forget Imam’s contribution without realizing that establishing a base is the most improved part of the innings.

He is nowhere as good as Babar, but we dont have another Babar and Imam will only improve from here.

Good recovery, PAK has scored like 85/0 in last 14 overs.

Rohit is now 32 and knows his game while Imam is still learning his craft.

Yes its true but Rohit was always good against the short ball and his game against Spin is also better. Plus also has more power to clear the ropes. Imam is young but has a long way to go I dont think his ceiling is as high as Rohit.

Our XI is almost set, now just need two backup batsman in the squas. They should be -25. Definitely Saud Shakeel should be one of them.

Imam playing like Rohit, but the difference is ***** catches up with his strike rate.

He learned all that after playing for few years, cant expect Imam to know all that from day one.

Of all the iPhones I have had, hate this XR, so many spelling mistakes, especially when I am not already fluent.

It's not about hating. I don't understand why you can't get that. Why would I hate Imam? All I'm saying is that at the time he wasn't contributing enough. Now, he's trying to change that.

Every game is different. We can't let someone who won us one game stay in the team for the next 20 games just because he performed well in one.

He used to average 29 in his earlier middle order days. Cricket brings a lot of surprises, nobody ever thought that at 32 Rohir will be a top ODI player who will still be struggling to find his feet in test. So one can never know where Imam’s ceiling will be or how long will he play for Pak.

I expect Imam to free his arms a bit more now that he's got a 50.

He has too much hate because of his uncle and nepotism charges. Now that he's got a second 50 in 3 innings, he should be more confident and cut loose a bit.

Yes Rameez, the PM has nothing better to do than to be watching a JAMODI.

Imam will get better and play for a long time for Pakistan as long as he keeps working hard. But I dont think he will ever become a player Rohit is.

Pakistan batsmen are too selfish when it comes to these reviews. Either that or they are just thick.

There was a time when SA used to set very high standard for fielding. They are absolute trash now. Slow to take off, slow to collect, slow to throw. Then the drop

The key man gone. Good innings but needed him to carry on. Steyn finally gets one on Babar. And now comes his bunny!

It his the outside of his left leg and he might not have known how far across he was. In other words, he might have thought it was going down leg. Still, bad review.
