too many sweep shots by sarfraz, yea he is good at it, but he should remember that the bounce is very uneven on this ground.

Its all good and valid point except they are devoid of ground realities.
1 - Pak is not playing intl cricket at home for a long while that something PCB has no control over. Without intl cricket at home its hard to develop players specially debutantes.
2 - The county cricket will help batsman no doubt abt it. Unfortunately we don't have any batsman good enuff to play in county and those who had potentials like inzi, yosef and YK didn't play that much.
3 - County cricket helps some seamers but hurts pakistan development of fast bowlers at home as e.g W & W went to play county on cost of domestic hence deprived us with development of fast bowlers. To certain extent same goes with batting, where our best were playing county and were not playing domestic to develop the pak batting.
4 - IMHO, the only thing that needs to be fixed is domestic cricket, (i dun mean pitches etc that need tweaking not fixing) I mean structure of domestic. To run them professionally, appointing coaches, physio etc. Payment and make sure every one play domestic, the players can't go and play T20 league on the expense of domestic. Unless we do that we will never have development cuz we not having intl cricket. Players r right to say they earn more but then once a player chose that we all know where his heart lies i.e make money of his skills.
Misbah **** yourself ur defensive approach is costing Pakistan big time![]()
what difference would it make if Sarfraz was to score a 50? He's been absolute bullocks throughout the series.
right, so is azhar ali, jamshed, hafeez, misbah etc
I am not sure if not playing international cricket at home has such a large impact. To me much bigger impact is not playing test cricket (50% less than ENG). For example in this tour we could have squeezed 4 tests but we went for useless ODIs...
We need to have two prong approach.
1. Focus on developing players locally but changing the fundamental of domestic cricket. Play we either two new balls or change the bowl after 40 overs.
2. Develop tear way fast bowlers, don't over coach team. Coaching is over rated in cricket, playing tougher cricket is the best coach.
3. Make tough pitches... I am not sure if it is possible to play on two pitches to make sure you have lively surface.
Clive Loyld was determinted to find fast bowlers in small caribian lslands, he found them.... Why we cannot do the same?? - The will and determination is not there... I don't care about the stats, I want to see aggression on the fields... These guys Adil, Rahat,GUL are lambs not tigers, completely dis gracefull bowling unit... What the ^$$#%# has gone to the 180 M population, we don't have any one to bowl fast ????

This commie Wessels keeps talking about when the second new ball is due. Just shows how desperate he is, SA are bowling to tailenders man.
When's it due anyway ?
Anyone watching is it out or not?
I just wish for a team of Ajmal's. This lad has heart.
ehsan should stay with Srafrz...
I believe lack of intl cricket is big hindrance, it doesn't allow you to develop players providing them debut in familiar surroundings. Doesn't allow you to have A team/gov XI etc to try players against visiting teams in practice matches.
Pak always had fast bowlers but unfortunately we mismanaged them, due to politics, lack of infrastructure etc. Plus game has changed days of Saying I dun care how many no balls and runs u get hit 4, i want u to bowl fast and furious are long gone, batsman well protected most pitches too flat all contribute against it. If one has no control dun matter how fast they get discarded. Sami e.g.
I suggested sometime ago, a minimum requirement should be 140 kph, if u can't bowl 140 kph continuously or close to it u shouldn't get looked into unless u can swing a mile or seam like asif.
Giving chances to medium pacers is one thing and picking all medium pacers (Adil,Rahat,Tanvir) is another. Why in the world you will do that??? - Bowler of Asif quality is very hard to produce, I don't see even a glimpse of it in anybody...
Future looks more gloomy, because we have T20 distraction as well. The kind of focus and investment needed to flourish in Test Cricket, we don't have stomach for that...
I am afraid that Cricket could go the route of Hockey down the road... People and fans will loose interest and so does the next generation, nobody would like to play the sports. Imran, Wasim,Waqar, Akthar (even Asif and Amir), inspired the next generation with the game. Right now other than Ajmal, nobody is their to keep that juice going in the fans :-((
Also hit some magnficient sixes against India.
I think he's as much a bowling all-rounder as Anwar Ali or Sohail Tanvir. Which is not much to say, but PCB still considers their batting, so why not Ehsan's?
