Broken down

Can you win from this position, has anyone pulled that off (Maybe yess, very difficult)

Can you draw from this position, has anyone pulled that off (maybe yes, very difficult, rare)

Ok, lets get the first objective, of diminishing the lead, further broken down by 50 runs each, then we plan ahead

Fine, in a day we look to get 250 atleast, last 10 overs, run rate is slowing down, bowlers are starting to dominate, anything short outside off, is considered a bad delivery and should be scored off

and it didnt happen :)

Khuda ke liye, jo kaam hai hamara, hum agar us mein apni expertise dikhayein, to achay bhi lagtay hain :)

I dun know abt alam and Amin has not been alighting the domestic circuit one would have to drop YK to bring another new batsman. Personally speaking I would never ever hesitate to drop YK anyone would do I dun want YK in team but his fan base would go medieval on me so for peace I included him. :)

The biggest problem is that everybody else has to perform to be in the side... Hafeez has a free pass. Where as he is worse of all. If you don't fix your opening you have no chance as a team. We have a long tail and openers, how you can win???

Dude.. you aren't living in this world... There are lot more potentials players like Harris Sohail, Umar Amin,Fawad alam, Ali waqas,... Who are young and talented than these tried and tested failures like Farhath, Malik etc... They are not given a long run.. A failure in 1 tests means they are out of international team.. NAd what has happened to jamshed.. jamshed played a wonderfull 45 in the first test,.. And he failed a little in second tests... Does that mean he should be dropped suddenly and give chance to tried and tested farhath..??? Wierd..
 
I won't be surprised if Virat Kohli and gang are sitting around a TV in the team hotel right now and chortling to themselves.

Abbott to Imran Farhat, OUT, the appeal lasted an entire day and Bowden finally raises the crooked finger! Farhat doesn't challenge it, Abbott bowled it short and a touch too wide outside off, not exactly a wicket-taking delivery but Farhat's lack of footwork made it one, he was back at the crease and slashing awya from the body, AB and the restknew he edged it

And why do you guys, just to prove your point, go to the level of downgrading a batsmen, was too close to the off stump and he shouldnt have played it

ajmal in danger of fetting a higher average than hafeez this series... or has that already happeneded?

if so, ajmal could be the pakistan "all rounder"
 
So how much will Sarfraz make in this innings?

He is playing for his place in this....

Pakistan has not performed well in SA/AUS ever in last 60 years. The problem is not necessary with the players, since the same issue has remain across generation.

You have to build and train team for these kinds of tour in mind. Why some of the below things cannot happen?

1. Why we cannot play with two new balls (50% of the time) in Pakistan, specially when we play in north. We want to develop spinners too that's why we need old ball too..
2. Why we cannot sponsor 10 batsmen to play their first class in SA/AUS/ENG??
3. Our bowlers are not experienced in these conditions as well, they have to be playing in these conditions as well.

In past our bowlers have performed in seaming/swinging conditions because of county cricket experience. None of our bowlers play (except probably Junaid and maybe Gul, but Gul is not a bowler

Why Pakistan did not plan for 4 test and 3 ODIs??? - You need to focus on test cricket to improve... One thing England under Andy has done very well is their focus on test, they lost 3-0 to us, but they went played two more series the same year in those conditions and last one they won against India after 28 years. We don't have will to win overseas

mate u r not understanding me. I never said drop jamshed I would have taken his failures and played him all matches cuz its learning curve for him that can never be provided again. Point was and once again Jamshed comes out as one of best opener we have had in some time and yet even his technique/temperament wasn't good enough. We are tlking once again in context of this test series. Farhat scored as per his potential and didn't look troubled he didn't show fear and scored runs he should be given his due. Does this mean he should play for pak, ofcoz no. But u can't just single him out when he scored more then everyone in this test. Hope I have explained.

Totally agree with this. Teams like Australia, South Africa, England take their international assignments very seriously. Yes our domestic cricket is terrible but you give yourself the best chance to compete by making the best preparation possible and that is something we did not do.

Its all good and valid point except they are devoid of ground realities.

1 - Pak is not playing intl cricket at home for a long while that something PCB has no control over. Without intl cricket at home its hard to develop players specially debutantes.

2 - The county cricket will help batsman no doubt abt it. Unfortunately we don't have any batsman good enuff to play in county and those who had potentials like inzi, yosef and YK didn't play that much.

3 - County cricket helps some seamers but hurts pakistan development of fast bowlers at home as e.g W & W went to play county on cost of domestic hence deprived us with development of fast bowlers. To certain extent same goes with batting, where our best were playing county and were not playing domestic to develop the pak batting.

4 - IMHO, the only thing that needs to be fixed is domestic cricket, (i dun mean pitches etc that need tweaking not fixing) I mean structure of domestic. To run them professionally, appointing coaches, physio etc. Payment and make sure every one play domestic, the players can't go and play T20 league on the expense of domestic. Unless we do that we will never have development cuz we not having intl cricket. Players r right to say they earn more but then once a player chose that we all know where his heart lies i.e make money of his skills.
 
If that was Davis the finger would have been up even before any appeal.
