100 for AB!

Has to be one of the best batsmen in world game right now!

AB only averages around 40 at home yet around 50 away from home. I guess Home conditions are alot tougher to bat in compared to rest of the places S.A tour.

South Africa | 1st Innings | 4/516 | 132 Overs | RR 3.90

De Villiers 116*

SA looking for 600 here!

AB opening up now and runs beginning to flow. I recon we will see a declaration at Tea time here by S.A

SL need Sangakara & Mahela to bat really well, I guess SL would need to reply with at least 500 in the first innings.

60 runs in last 10 overs. Things beggining to motor and SL have no way of stopping the run Flow here

ABs 100 came off 176 balls

Last 40 runs hes scored have come off just 21 balls!

At this rate we could even see a declaration before Tea and then a tricky small session for SL to get through.

SL will have to bat really well, Dilshan needs to play a captains knock to save this for SL. A draw from here would be big thing for SL.

South Africa 549/4

Still 44 overs left in days play as well.

South Africa | 1st Innings | 4/549 | 136 Overs | RR 4.03

De Villiers 140*

1 away from 550!

Drinks!

SA in firm grip over the match

SL need to play out of skins here to escape.

Perera and Matthews should not be playing together, both pretty much same kind of players, do not bring anything different to the table.

Stats Madhu says: "This is the first time that South Africa have had three century stands for wickets 3 to 5."

( cricinfo)

I wonder if SA are looking at 600 for declaration, its only 32 more runs, that is say another 6 overs max.

South Africa | 1st Innings | dec 4/580 | 139 Overs | RR 4.17

Petersen 109, Kallis 224, De Villiers 160*, Rudolph 51*

Innings Break!

Should have been scored 600 but nevertheless good performance after Durban Test defeat.

Sri Lanka | 1st Innings | 0/4 | 1 Overs | RR 4.00 | Trail by 576 runs

Sri Lanka mountain to claim

Declared too soon, its only day 2 and still plenty overs to go, should have let AB get his double ton and declare at 650-700

Lahiru needs to score here and seal a spot for himself in the XI , great opportunity for him to do so.

Dilshan 18 from 14 balls, he needs to stay till stumps, should not play rash shot here.

Sri Lanka | 1st Innings | 0/26 | 7 Overs | RR 3.71 | Trail by 554 runs

Sri Lanka | 1st Innings | 0/29 | 8 Overs | RR 3.62 | Trail by 551 runs

Tea - Day 2

SL 75/1 after 15 overs.. Trail by 505 runs

This be a draw, so annoying just as soon as we got the fifth ranking we're gonna lose it again

Sri Lanka | 1st Innings | 1/95 | 20 Overs | RR 4.75 | Trail by 485 runs

Strong Reply by Sri Lanka!

Dilshan needs to be patient here..... the pitch is full of runs, he should not throw it away

11 overs left in the day, SL should look to make sure they do not loose any more wickets and get around 30 , that would be 150 / 1 at the end of Day II

Sri Lanka | 1st Innings | 1/120 | 27 Overs | RR 4.44 | Trail by 460 runs

SA should get atleast 1 wicket!

Jayawardhane needs to score here, his average is falling fast, few more low scores it would be less than 50.

Sangakara is effortless player, one of the best timmers of the ball at the moment.
