I know the South has many good actors, but i have a question:
Why are so many South Cinemas full of people doing exageratted expressions, cheesy dialogues/dancing, wobbling heads while smiling, and overall seems cheesier and weirder than mainstream Bollywood movies. Even the latter get very cheesy, but Tamil stuff just feels cheesier

@ vcool
you are right about the past politics about TN but not about the current scenario .. in TN fan clubs are not formed but they are created ..
IIRC stars pay money to maintain these clubs and most of the members of these fan clubs are half literates
in age old days regional parties ( read DMK ) were formed mostly on the basis of anti-hindi , anti-north propaganda and movies played a key role in it..
and it wass natural for the them to succeed in politics ( anna , karunanidhi are not heros but diretors and writers ) and the tradition continued till MGR and JJ..
and i am sure film stars now wont have any direct entry towards power ( aka Rajnikanth had no real effect )
think Chiranjeevi should be a lession to all these movies stars aspiring to get into politics...the guy went from a legend to a no body..while he is still a legend cinema as considered...he is effing joke as a person and as a political leader..and the respect is as close to zero anything can get.
one of my telugu friend in korea wanted to watch this trailer release in online streaming , first time got the real feel of how telugu people r craze abt movies![]()

Yes navroks123, Ajith is famous for his negative characters, you should see Vaali where he plays a (deaf and mute) negative character, simply awesome.

A film like #Eega sets new benchmarks. Takes Indian cinema forward. Kudos to everyone associated with this fantabulous film.
#Eega Any amount of praise will not do justice. All I can say is that it makes me proud that we live in the times of the genius @ssrajamouli
Komal Nehta
Rajamouli's telugu film, Eega, releasd today, headed to be blockbuster of epic proportions.Public mesmerised.Hindi dubbed version to follow
Rana
Wouldn't put #Eega down by calling it a "great film" it is not a film but an extraordinary experience that @ssrajamouli has created.
EEGA" One of the Greatest...movies I have ever Seen.... Hats off to Rajamouli.gaaru.for taking tollywood 2 Next level;
Many included Anurag Kashyap, ritesh deshmukh,...
And Ajay Devgan's , Abhishek Bachan's Bol Bachan's collection has been affected by "Eega" !!!
see tweets of #eega to see the response..me going 2marrow..
At a time when logic is found to be amiss in supposedly serious dramas and potboilers, SS Rajamouli has achieved something remarkable. He has made the impossible possible, without kissing goodbye to logic. The film would have well bordered on the fairy tale, but for his eye to inventive commercial cinema. Had Eega been made as merely multiplex film, it would have been injustice. The sheer scale and range of the film will awe the adults and entice the children alike. The story is not about how a good samaritan is killed and he reincarnates as an omniscient being to redeem his tribe from Evil. The strength of the film for an Indian audience is that the story mixes elements that can captivate the kids (the fly and its mind-blowing acts) and keep the elderly hooked (a believable murderous story with a romantic angle).
Rajamouli has not only created an outstanding piece of cinema, but one that is entertaining and keeps audience glued to the screen. The technical brilliance of the film speaks volumes for the hard work that has gone into its making.
http://movies.ndtv.com/movie_story....yword=regional&subcatg=MOVIESINDIA&nid=240362Last but not the least, hats off to director SS Rajamouli. Eega is a must-watch.
Review written by a non-telugu.There is a reason that S.S. Rajamouli is considered the most innovative director in the Telugu film industry, and Eega is the perfect illustration of why he deserves to wear that crown. The film is completely insane, endlessly enjoyable, and absolutely unique. Eega is the best film about a man reincarnated as a housefly avenging his own murder that you will ever see. It isn't easy to find, but I highly recommend looking through the list of theaters linked below for a screening near you, you'll come out of the auditorium a changed person.
I happen to know for a fact that there are forty seven screens in the USA showing Eega this weekend, and only about ten of them will have subtitles. If you are near one of those ten, I will punch you in the throat if you miss this film. If you aren't near a theater with subs, don't be a [censored] , you don't need them to enjoy this remarkable piece of work. Eega is a winner, plain and simple.
anybody want to translate this for me

Found this gem over Twitter (i know its old) People behind it are quite good in making parody songs (try their soundcloud account for many remixes). This is one of the fine comic remix of T.Rajendar, Cricketer Sidhu, Cheekah, Ravi Motormouth Shastri. Band behind this is called Parodesy Noise

yeah i am a strange individual who listens to nearly every type of music from around the world
but pashto, farsi, urdu , telegu and tamil in particular
if you want to learn pashto feel free to drop by the pashto language thread, it is laying dormant
it looked pretty active but most of the posters are no longer active it would seem
Whats with those bobbing heads in the music videos? Looks ridiculous
pistah song looks cool with that dappankuthu style dancing, but i liked jagathy's version more becoz of the funny dialogues between the actors nedumudi venu, sukumaran and mala aravind.i don't understand the meaning of lyrics.definitely not malayalam.
