I know it's banned in Pakistan but it'd be great to compare the pace of the bowlers to PSL
 
First match was all about spin. Huge turn for all spinners. Even Raina was getting massive turn. Haven’t seen many surfaces like this in IPL. Loved it
 
One praise worthy thing the IPL has done is professionalized Indian Cricket at all levels from grass roots to the top. Consistently playing alongside and against the best players, sharing a dressing room year after year with the best players, best foreign coaches and support staff does that eventually. You now have youngsters coming in where they have the bases and basics covered.

This is sadly where Pakistan lags behind and will be a good 10 years before we can catch up.
 
LOL ** this Mohammad siraj guy bowls 140kph. He was trundling in at 130kph in international cricket and getting hit to all parts.

Mid to early 130s.

Navdeep Saini was between 135-140 aswell, with only a handful deliveries crossing 140 kph.
 
Today, there'll be Rabada, Ferguson, Russell and Bumrah in action. Let's see who can get to 150kph
 
Don’t think most international fast bowlers will be pushing themselves too hard this IPL on the Indian pitches given CWC is just around the corner.
 
The speesguns in Aus and India are very friendly to pacers.

He had a major surgery last year. Hasn't yet recovered fully from that. Some athletes recover slower than others and as a fast bowler he puts a lot of stress on his young back.

I wanted to see him bowling last year but got disappointed. same this year :(

I see. 153.6 KPH would put him among some of the fastest bowlers in the world!

I expect Bumrah to hover somewhere around those speeds this IPL however. Love to see some pace on the ball.

Whatever happened to Varun Aaron? Is he not playing for RCB anymore?

Varun plays for RR now.

If Prasidh clocked 153ks error free it would on the ipl website.
 
Varun Aaron was probably the only Indian bowler who striked fear in the batsman. Singlehandedly ended Stuart Broad's batting career.

Keep your eye on Navdeep Saini. He is 90mph and gets bounce. ABD said that Saini hit Virat on the helmet in the nets. He hit watson in the match as well.

Anyone who takes Indian speed guns seriously after the likes of vinay kumar hit 148 kph is kidding himself.
 
I'm interested in average speed. That's gives a clearer picture of pace.

It certainly does in tests but in t20s, bowlers deliberately very their speeds besides the slower one all the time. At least smart ones do.
 
A bunch of domestic bowlers who can touch 150kph, just like it was expected of them. Good signs.

You don't need to trust them.

The guy who kept up with Rabada and Starc with three gentle hops last year has been outpaced by 4-5 domestic bowlers so far. That's enough to judge what we are seeing.

Bumrah, shami are not going to go all out before world cup. However new comers like Prasidh and Saini are already bowling at 149, 147, 146
 
I think Wahab Riaz, Haris Rauf, M hasnain were faster than the Indian lot of bowlers. Hassan Ali, Faheem Ashraf and M Musa are on par with India's fastest.
 
Navdeep Saini this over.

147 kmph and 149 kmph. Real good stuff and had Rohit sharma hurried on to his shots.

Like they were bowling 150ks before this. I have never seen them touched 150ks.maybe ugly action bowler has done it once or twice
