Its easier to get a spot in a 6th or 7th ranked team than a 2nd ranked team.

Indian selection works on a system. Kaul and Thakur performed well in the domestics and Siraj in the India A series to get a call up.

Rest have to do the same.

It must be really embarassing that you claim to have a factory of fast bowlers yet your captain claims they are slow.

but you claim to have 5 bowler who can bowl close to 150 which is extra ordinary and rare in current cricket .it is odd that none is quality enough to play ahead of medicore bowler like kumar.either they are not good enough with other skill or there fitness is just like khaleel who is trundling at 130 kph who was 150 bowler

T20 is cricket future and last time i checked you full squad team was playing against aus so don,t lie about team don,t take t20 seriously .anything that losing his charm is bilateral odis which is replaced by t20s.obviously why would you care about t20 when your team is neither number 1 or batsmen or bowler in top 2 ranking

150k is fine. But Bhuvi has bowled well at death and his only the third choice bowler who will not be in the playing 11. Saini is at number 4 and has been kept as standby. He doesnot have enough India A experience yet. He is surely next in line.

Yadav was in the test team in australia and england. Aaron is coming back fron injury and Prasidh is yet to play a full FC season.

And Indian team is not in a desperate situation.

So players have to come in via the established system.

Lol. Abbas is a one trick one format bowler. His effectiveness was seen when he struggled againist NZ and then SA.

Performing againist WI Ireland etc is no big deal.

Why is this better than Bumrah Shami bowler not in the WC squad?

Just because pakistan plays a lot of T20 doesnot mean its the future and rest of the cricket is losing its charm.

My team is no.1 of no.2 in all formats. Its not languishing at no.6 or 7 in any format.

Pakistan team is mediocre in 2 out of 3 formats. What are you boasting about?

how many regular matches shami have played in t20i for india ?he is not regular.Whether played one match or three they have played with full strength available side so your excuse is laughable .there were part of series and selected for t20 series .isnot that enough?

What did Abbas do in SA? Avgd 45? Your team couldnot win anything.

Shami was a regular till his knee surgery. After which he was being preserved for tests. Now that he is bowling fine he is back in all 3 sides.

You understand the meaning of team not playing full side in T20s. It means they rest them. Doesnot matter if they are available for selection or not.

What is the bowling avg of Abbas vs SA and NZ?

Just at the start of his career Bumrah has won a test series in Aus and won his team a test in SA, when was the last time Pakistan won a test in SA or Aus? Or even draw one?

SL beat Pak in UAE. If they are mediocre, what is pakistan?

injury lay off .he was not ready for Sa series due to injury ,If you answer my question about bumrah and shami bowling average in eng compare to abbas i will answer yours.SL is better side than pakistan but not near to india why they did beat sa and india with all time great bumrah and shami could not?

abbas have won us test at lords and instrumental to series draw .is not a great acheivement at so early in career .when steyn already predicted he will be number 1 soon:ua

If injury layoff is the reason for Abbas then same for Bumrah as he missed two tests with injury.

Speed guns have shown 5 Indians clocking above 150ks. Seems some Pakistanis cant accept that.

Some Pakistani posters brought in the world cup squad selection theory since they cant beat the speed gun.

SL IS currently BETTER TEST team than pakistan .No shame in admitting that ,infact they are best asian team to win two test series in sena countries in last ten years :srt.Shame same cannot be said for number one test side:broad

so predictable so the trend of Sena countries from indian fan have vanished quickly when it don,t favor them.i wish they could have visit Aus like certain team .I am lost for numbers how many a certain team have to visit to aus to win a series .Sl could have easily edit aus series win by visiting them regularly

Where does a SENA team or an Asian team come into the equation? The debate is about Sri Lanka and India. India came to Sri Lanka and then white washed them in Tests, ODI's and T20's. What does that prove?

Sri Lanka can win 100 more series in SENA, but they got their nose rubbed in the dust at their home by India.

A debate between the superiority of 2 teams is based on their head to head performance, not how they did against other countries. If they don't go head to head, then their performance against other countries becomes the criteria.

Bilateral series of asian countries in test is least important compare to win in away series like eng,sa .obviously you guys don,t like to bring back the memory of 27-4 in aus,sa,nz and eng:srt

145ks are effortlessly achieved by many bowlers. Some are harder to face. I guess it comes down to release, length they hit, channel they bowl at. Not all 145 k bowlers are treated the same. Dhoni absolutely destroyed Umesh yadav's 148k balls.

No, they won't have gone to WC, because they are not 29 (at least) yet - unless they have close relatives at key positions. But I get your point - 3 players officially 29 with that caliber would start every game for PAK, in every format.
 
There was no desperation .Pak ignored shinwari who is a proven performer and went for hasnain because they saw potential in him, this is what Pak has done in past to with waseem And others . To say that Pak selected a teenager in desperation is plain stupid

Indeed it’s strange. WAseem akram described hasnain as a great find and he had him in his WC team, yet his selection is being termed desperate attempt by Pak. Waseem knows more about fast bowling than anyone else!

Btw have icc introduced new ranking particularly for joint three format .There official site is still showing all three format separately

The reason being Bumrah does not play too many T20Is. He gets rested for such games while Fahim plays almost all T20 games Pakistan play even when they are against Zimbabwe or Ireland or Scotland.

Ashraf has played 21 T20I's since January of 2018. In the same time Bumrah has played only 10. That is the reason for Bumrah not being able to break into top 10. There is no difference in performance of the two players over that time, in fact Bumrah's record is better.

Every time a player misses a t20i he loses 2% of his rating points. All Pakistani players play all their t20i matches. Good for them. :)

I know each and every thing .there are alot of flaws in icc ranking system but this is what it is whether you play against Papua Guinea or Eng it shows your consistent performances and fahim is there for reason .if we want to go by only against top team in t20i.Amir have better record than bumrah so if any one deserves to be on top in icc t20 ranking it should be amir .

The major point I made completely skipped you. The reason why Bumrah is not in top 10 is he does not play enough. He gets rested for T20I games most of the times.
 
Thankfully the admin has posted a warning for all the irrelevant jibberish. Every time there is a discussion involving India and Pakistan, things start to get sour very quickly from both sides. Pakistani side has their own few guys who will keep coming at them while India have a few who ensure it starts with a bang on every forum.
@bhagvirubhag and @freelancecricketer are two of my favorite posters from across the border who keep things calm and cool and avoid the so called banter.

However, worry not my brother's in green with the arrival of potential atgs like Shaheen, Hasnain and haris rauf , the days of your test attack trundling hopelessly may finally be over. :)

when they can outperformed the atg pacer like bumrah and shami in test from past one year then why do they need speed? they are doing there job .batsmen are not doing there job for pakistan in test.i have used filter only for top 7 .i have not included ireland to further boast pakistani pacer bowling average

Lol this thread is about bowling speeds. And calm down. Indian bowling attack performed much better in Australia and in SA. You don't need stats to see that.

This thread is about IPL and PSL. Why are you bringing up international cricket? The fact is 5 Indian bowlers + 2-3 international bowlers have touched 150k in IPL. That’s all what this thread is about.

If you want to compare international T20, then others have the right to bring in international LOI and test bowling too. Stick to the scope of the discussion and not change the topic since it suits you.

How long was the period when he were lacking genuine fast bowler? India has just started getting genuine fast bowler.one Indian here was saying that it must be embarrassing for Pakistan that they did not had a single speedster during Sa tour , by the same token for our neighbours it should be a lifetime of embarrassment

Don't mind these arrogant fans. We do have few 145k bowlers like Bumrah and they do take wickets but we don't have bowlers who can run through batting line ups like Akhtar, Akram, Younis used to do. They have bowled so many memorable spells and won matches for their side alone. Indian bowlers look up to them when they start their careers. :inti
 
Back on topic. Sandeep warrier who played for KKR other day clocked around 144 kph. Got a bit of movement. But he has missed his bus. He is like 27 now. Was a potential few years back. India is producing more and more fast bowlers who crank up speed.

Yes. But he was obviously at advantage pace wise as he had to bowl only one over that night :).

I was more impressed with his recovery after being clobbered in first 2 balls.

Not as quick as Saini this year but Wahab did clock 154kph last PSL - this years speeds for Pak bowlers are as follows (ones I recorded anyway for deliveries from 145kph/90mph)

Mohammed Husnain - 151kph (19 years old)
Wahab Riaz - 151kph
Haris Rauf - 149kph (not played any first class cricket - should have been in World Cup squad in my opinion)
Mohammed Irfan Snr - 148kph
Mohammed Musa - 148kph (18 years old)
Shaheen Shah Afridi - 147kph (19 years old)
Usman Shinwari - 146kph
Hassan Ali - 146kph
Sameen Gul - 146kph
Mohammed Amir - 145kph
 
I would not trust any of these IPL PSL speeds 100%. You can see Hasnain who easily clocked 150ks in PSL struggling to hit the 145k mark consistently in today’s game. When the going gets tough I would expect even further reduction in speeds.

dude this is his debut in t20 +his first ever game in english condition.btw in his fourth over 5 out of 6 was above 90 mph .
