I've already explained my stance to you. I see greentops and rank turners as pretty much the same. Rank turners give the side batting first an advantage and greentops for the side bowling first. Both tracks are okay for 1 or even 2 matches in a 5 match series. Flat tracks are the ones which kill Test cricket imo.

How do rank turners give the side batting first an advantage? The ones in the recent SA series spun throughout the test. Worsening each day. Nothing in it for the batsmen nor seamers.

Least with green tracks, once you play out the new ball it gets easier and you can pile on the runs as Root did in England against Aus. There's also some turn towards the end. With flat tracks (ie UAE), the pitch is horrid for seamers, but at least it provides assistance for spinners and also batsmen.
