:D Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke

:))

if any one want to know why

Swann to Dilshan, OUT, 83.8 kph, Caught-behind given but Dilshan reviews it, turning in from outside off, gets forward and tries to defend, replays are not conclusive, the bat hits the ground and the ball goes off the pads towards slip, there is no definite evidence of an inside edge, Dilshan reviewed it immediately, was there a slight contact with the bat after the ball struck the pad? The replays can't prove anything. There's no Hot Spot. You just can't be definite. England were confident, they went up spontaneously. In the absence of Hot Spot, it's really hard to tell. The third umpire is trying every possible angle. The original decision is upheld. But since the on-field umpire had given it out, the third umpire didn't have conclusive evidence that he didn't hit it! There was no conclusive evidence that he did either! Tricky situation, but a decision's been made and Dilshan has to walk back

It brushed the back of his bat IMO, could see it on the front-left camera.

Been an abysmal innings from Sangakkara, not gone yet but it's only a matter of time. On Mahela and Samara to save this.

About time England dropped Morgan, I would pick an all rounder over Morgan, Samit isn't the answer though.

Dilshan fined for excessive appealing

Tillakaratne Dilshan has been fined 10% of his match fee for excessive appealing during the third day of the second Test against England at the P Sara Oval in Colombo.

The incident which brought the charge occurred at 88.2 overs, when Dilshan appealed for a bat-pad catch at short leg against Jonathan Trott. The ICC statement said Dilshan ran through in celebration before a decision was given, then turned around and appealed repeatedly.

Dilshan was charged with a Level 1 offence, contrary to clause 2.1.5 which covers "excessive appealing and excessive shall include a) repeated appeal of the same decision/appeal and b) celebrating a dismissal before the decision has been given."

He pleaded guilty to the offence and Javagal Srinath, the match referee, said: "Dilshan accepted the charge and the penalty imposed without qualms and so there was no need for a formal hearing."

Dilshan was often at the centre of the action on the third day and was bowling the over during which Kevin Pietersen was given an official warning for preparing to play the switch hit before the bowler was in his delivery stride. Dilshan twice aborted a delivery when he saw Pietersen changing his grip before the warning was given to the batsman.

Some are texting in to say a red mark appears on Dilshan's bat after the ball passed it :P

it looks as if dilshan was out you can see the ball leaving a smudge on the bat edge

England should look at someone entirely new for the number six position. Patel isn't test class, Bopara is a dud, Morgan needs more first-class cricket before he can come back. Bet they feel a bit bad now for mistreating Collingwood.

Morgan ain't that bad when in full form..:9:

He is a quality T20 and an ODI player, but not Test worthy. There are better batsmen than him in the English county surely. Averaging 30 + and he looks very fragile every time at the beginning of his innings.

Terrible against spin :rehman :ajmal

Never seen Sanga in form like this. Looks like a number 8 at the moment.

Number six is always a headache, you expect only a certain but they still end up below that.

Sri Lanka batting on the edge, If one of these two gets out now, England will win.

If England manage to somehow not win this match, Strauss will be kicking himself for not including Monty. One of those decisions which can haunt him as England loses its No.1 ranking :)

YES! Swanny you beauty. Sangakkara has been very poor.

Timely end to a village innings.

England getting closer to the SL tail now. Very very poor show from SL to say the least.

They've let England sniff some blood now. And I can see that England will be a completely different side in the next match. SL have no one to blame but themselves.

England needs to be on full flow before the India series, don't want to see the number 1 team getting white washed again.

Shame there's no third test because I reckon we'd win the series. Despite our atrocious batting in the first test we weren't too far off really. England are getting back into form and are the better team here, hopefully will hit top gear next season.

Sri Lanka have to bat for atleast 100 more overs if they want to avoid a defeat here.

^^Haha, you want Sri Lanka to win only because you want your point about England not being true number 1 justified. :yk

Sl shld try to get a lead of atleast 150 and that would make the march very intresting

@JA, I want this test to end in a draw. A win win situation!:yk
@Romalli, I never said said that,it would be better to evaluate England's performance once they finish their whole tour of Asia.

I just explained the reason behind JA supporting Sri Lanka.

They are really playing very slowly... as I say that jayawerdena hits a four

Come on England, another 1 or 2 before parity is reached

Yup , draw will do the job beautifully.

Sri lanka effectively 153/3. Dunno how prasad got 34. But three of the main batsmen are gone. Don't think Matthews or HAPW Jayawardene are capable of bailing sri lanka out, just comes down to these two now, jaywardene and Samweera. Get these two (or even one of these two) cheaply and England will win (providing they won't collapse in the second innings as they will have a target to chase now).

Still think it was a mistake not to go with 2 spinners. Monty would have been useful about now.

get Taylor in, your most promising young batsman.

He might like batting higher up, so demote Bell down to six if needs be and play Taylor at four/five.

Er Prasad has a first-class hundred, he counts as a wicket.

ah my mistake, thought the guy was just a no.10 batsman, and a night watchman. Guy's actually got decent batting stats for a bowler.

little jaya has saved match for srilanka with sanga against pakistan. There is no reason he can't do it here.

A target of around 120-140 for England in two sessions would be interesting to see.

However, I do not see that happening. England are a wicket away from trigerring a SL collapse.

SL trail by 13 runs..
Biggest of the HTBs need to do more to save the game

how does jayawardene keep scoring in this test series? It's not fair :(

Good game this. SL almost level with close to 4 sessions left. England will feel gutted to let this slip away esp cook. Swann's being tested here again against rhb.
