What's new

Sri Lanka v Pakistan | 1st ODI | Dambulla | 30/7/09 [PAK inns]

i predict 5-0 white wash in this series. it pretty seems all i trusted on yunus ability is foolishness, now he doesnt behave like a mature captain. it was terrible from the very beginning to see such selection, good for him, that he wants the team to be decorated with famous names, but the bitter reality of team strength, ability and the willingness to give a good contest is pretty much clear now.

umpteen times they lose but yeh nahi sudhrain ge....

almost as i had predicted, they will lose by a huge margin :14:

Lack of proactiveness of Younis Khan in utilizing Batting Power Plays.

Well...Pakistan have opted for the batting power play after 38 overs and 8 wickets down and when only tailenders are batting at the crease.....I think when Fawad and Razzak were at the crease we could have better utilized batting power play as the last resort.... whats your thoughts...

Gul 'slightly' making up for his rubbish bowling with his hit and miss batting

Yawn!!..consolation fireworks??

This should shame the so called seniors even more...if only i had some jootian to throw here...

This is entertaining and fighting stuff from Pakistan..Mighty pleased!

20 runs of Lasith Malinga...unbelievable stuff! Terrific fight back. Go Pakistan:)

Aamir batting like Wasim used to in the early days of his career. Can certainly become an all rounder.

End of over 43 (20 runs) Pakistan 187/8 (46 runs required from 42 balls, RR: 4.34, RRR: 6.57) Mohammad Aamer 18* (19b 1x4) SL Malinga 8-0-49-0
Umar Gul 31* (18b 6x4) M Muralitharan 10-0-46-2

Some treatment for Gul, who was hit on the elbow by Malinga in the previous over. Gul is now the joint highest scorer of the innings, and this is his highest ODI scorer

42.6
Malinga to Mohammad Aamer, 1 run, back of length, on the leg stump, turned to fine leg for a single

42.5
Malinga to Umar Gul, 1 leg bye, another bouncer, Gul goes for the pull and misses, is hit on the body and runs away to fine leg

42.5
Malinga to Umar Gul, 1 wide, short and very wide outside off, Malinga will have to bowl that again

42.4
Malinga to Umar Gul, FOUR, more frustration for Sri Lanka, slower ball on a length, heading for offstump, Gul gets an outside edge past the keeper and too fine for the third man, that's the 50 partnership

42.4
Malinga to Umar Gul, (no ball) FOUR, Gul plays the sort of shot that got led to Afridi's dismissal, a bouncer outside off, Gul cheekily upper cuts it over short third man and that's the third boundary of the over, and that's a no-ball as it's the second high bouncer of the over

42.3
Malinga to Umar Gul, no run, Malinga replies with the quick bouncer, it's outside off and Gul is not bothered by that one

Sangakkara lectures the bowler, six fielders in the ring on the off side

42.2
Malinga to Umar Gul, FOUR, another boundary for Gul, this time to the cover boundary, fullish ball outside off, Gul crashes it through the covers

42.1
Malinga to Umar Gul, FOUR, full toss on the pads, Gul flicks it to the square leg boundary, runs starting to flow now for Pakistan

This is amazing stuff from our bowlers. I hope the so called batsmen are sat in the pavilion feeliing throughly ashamed of themselves.

well who thought we would have been even near 200, when abdul razzaq fell, but we have :D

surely not................

Come on AaG (Amir and Gul) :)

singles, singles and singles.

No need to try anything silly here

just goes to show, should have won this easily, crappy batsmen!
