Sledger said:No surprise. Some things never change, Pakistan can't chase whether it's 30 or 300.
Agree with this. The loss doesn't really matter.. it's all about England. A win against India is the only thing Pakistan should want from this tourny.Abdullah22 said:Ah from 34-4 to this not bad, don't care about the cup, just win against India
Poison said:Razzaq's fault, he saw Malinga reversing it, he knows Asif is a bunny, caved under pressure.
He tried to protect Asif but Asif was running and Razzaq had no choice but to get through for the leg-byeCpt. Rishwat said:Like I was saying, Razzaq has looked after himself first and failed to protect the tail. Not great.
Yeah, but what was he to do when Asif was half way down?Poison said:Razzaq's fault, he saw Malinga reversing it, he knows Asif is a bunny, caved under pressure.
ahmed16 said:You cant just blame Razzaq, he required Asif to play 1 ball, whats to say that he would have not got a single off that last ball.
Blaming mentality has to stop.
This is the mentality that causes us Pakistani's to go backwards, why dont you want to win every single cupSledger said:Agree with this. The loss doesn't really matter.. it's all about England. A win against India is the only thing Pakistan should want from this tourny.![]()
Momo said:Razzaq needs to take responsibility for this loss. Can't understand the point of exposing Asif to malinga.
A shame we lost despite Afridi's brilliance.
There have been many positives for Pakistan though. The bowling was good, the fielding great (mainly), and Afridi and Akmal Jr played well. But in the end, some very mediocre Cricket, mainly by Razzaq.
Man,we deserved to be on the winning side due to one man's brilliance..I am really hurt that his spectacular inns couldnt win us the match unfortunately...Poison said:To be fair this is different, GOOD fight shown by Pakistan and AfridiFrom 32-4 we could've collapsed to <100 all out, well done Pakistan.

Yes, and that was not intelligent Cricket. Intelligent Cricket would have been, Razzaq telling Asif there was no be no single before the last ball.ahmed16 said:blaming mentality has to stop, if anything Asif pushed Razzaq for the run.

Subir: "How easy it is commenting. You say Razzaq should have taken initiative. If Razzaq HAD taken initiative when Afridi was wobbling you'd say - "Why did he need to do it. Afridi was hitting. He only needed to get support""
I am sure there are going to be tons of people saying its Razzaq's fault and this and that, but if anyone is to be blamed for this loss its Salman Butt and all the 'youngsters'.
Spot on.I want Ajmal in the next match instead of Asif...Khabri420 said:This is why we can't afford to go in with a #11 like this.

I agree they both shouldn't have been allowed to bat together, but this was there chance to prove themselves. And they both threw their wickets away.IMMY69 said:well two rookies, making their debuts, should never have been allowed to bat together...
Once Butt got out, a more experienced batsman should have been sent in at number 3.
Its easy to blame the youngsters, but people should remember that the new ball, under lights, was doing all sorts..Thats when experience was required...
ShaazE said:Great debuts by the youngsters; Shahzaib and Umar Amin. They really outperformed the senior players like Afridi and Akhter. I think it's about time we replace them with other great youngsters.
We clearly need more young Butt(s) in the team to quench the thirst of some members here at pp.
Could not have agreed more. Youngsters are very much needed but you can't throw your wickets away and then expect to be given more chances.ShaazE said:Nah, I'm all for giving youngsters chances to come up. Just tired of peoples obsession with having nothing but youngsters as if Pakistan's team was a catholic church.
Does razzaq not have amind of his own! He is the senior player in the teamahmed16 said:blaming mentality has to stop, if anything Asif pushed Razzaq for the run.
