We are finished as a bowling nation, no real quality in either pace or spin.

Sad times.
 
Lame bowling from Yasir, bowling way too fast, no flight, no dip and can't land the ball on the same spot twice.

Pakistan should be banned from touring Sri Lanka. Sick of the annual summer bashing.
 
Looks like BD is becoming another super power in cricket bashing India mercilessly. 93/0 in 12 overs.
 
We need to get better coaching staffs and selections of players. Waqar as a bowling/head coach is a hopeless so as luden as fielding coach. Selection of some of our players are questionable.
 
Very impressive field setting by Misbah so far! And the bowlers equally bowling well according to the field set!
 
Hafeez is finished as a bowler after remodeling his action, although far more useful than Ajmal. Nonetheless, his international career is drawing to a close.

Both batsmen should be nearing their tons by the close of play.

Woeful first day.
 
Its hard to believe that apart from Zimbabwe and Pakistan all other teams are making 300+ every often.
 
Unsurprising start by Pakistan based on their lack of quality players and the fact that the team itself is in decline, especially the bowling department.

2015, and we are still dropping catches more then any team.
 
We badly need some inspiration and a bucket full of wickets here!
 
Yasir is far from a finished article and continues to look pedestrian in the first innings. People need to stop overrating him just because Warne has a thing for him.

He's our best spinner at the moment but it doesn't say much when the others are mediocre.

name m e one spin bowler who has done the business against SL in SL on day 1 you will hardly find any. Not saying he is extra ordinary but cut the the boy some slack and stop being a sook just for the sake of it.

He hasn't looked threatening in the first innings most of the times, not just today. It's not sooking.

The fact that he is the best spinner in the country means that we are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
 
I know spinners usually thrive on 4th and 5th day... But in quality spinners, you still see their quality through-out the 5 day test... This is not the case with Yasir. Also, some say he is sharp in the field, but I have not seen any other player hyped so much in regards to fielding.

He's a pretty good fielder but Mamoon just overhypes him.

His first innings bowling figures are 607/18 average 33.7. I will gladly accept 100/3 anytime from my spinner in the first innings as I said you are just sooking for the sake of it.
 
He hasn't lived up to the expectations in the field, that is true.
 
The most depressing thing is that even if intend to rest one of the pacers, we don't have any other option which are on a complete different level; this shows two things... 1. lack of strength in depth and 2. Pakistan are in decline. On the positive side, we have promising crop of youngsters coming through (Usama Mir).

It is now people will finally realise the value of Danish Kaneria.
 
Good field setting for Sangakara by Misbah. Just a shame that none of our bowlers are good enough to get him out.

Look beyond numbers. He has played against Australia which is a poor spin playing team and New Zealand and Bangladesh.

I don't rate performances of subcontinent spinners vs. Australia on these pitches because they are terrible, that too when Clarke is out of form. Smith is the only other capable player of spin, that's it. Most domestic spinners in Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will do well vs. Australia on slow and dry pitches.

Against New Zealand, he took wickets in the first innings but went at over 4 runs per over both in first and third Tests, that is not good enough for me. If as a spinner you are getting milked at that rate against an over aggressive team, you are bound to take a few wickets here and there.

Against Bangladesh, he was again expensive in the first Test and didn't look threatening, but yes he did bowl well in the second Test throughout.

He bowls way too quick and short at times, which is why he's often expensive and less threatening in the first innings. If he bowls like this against teams like Sri Lanka, South Africa, India etc., he will not amount for much.

Asking him to improve on that front is not sooking, it's called constructive criticism. People need to stop going overboard by labeling him fantastic and best Test spinner after Herath just because Warne thinks he's great.

At this point, he's barely decent. Hopefully he will improve with time.
 
Everything I say will always be proved right eventually.

Zulfiqar is rubbish and past it.

Yasir is mediocre.

Wahab is playing too many games and is under a defensive captain

Junaid is better with the old ball, but sadly only gets to play on flattest decks ever.

This bowling attack is rubbish, Misbah is crazy and shows his negative mindset to bowl first. He simply wants a draw out of this game.
 
Massive wicket this. Wahab is the only bowler who has turned up today.
 
Wahab was underrated by many when he is considered a pathetic bowler while Junaid was hyped as a future legend, but now Wahab is overrated by many after a few good spells and labeled as a future great.

Got to love the mentality of our people.

He's a good bowler, who blows hot and cold and isn't very smart either, but he does have that X factor to produce something out of nothing.

In simpler terms, poor man's Johnson.

Terrible shot by Thirimanne, 155/3 isn't terrible, but Mathews will be key here.
 
junaid is bowling b kumar pace and he also cant swing new ball
 
We need atleast another 2 wickets before close of play to make it an even days play.

Silva is being a nuisance here and needs to be got out.

Herath must be licking his lips seeing the sharp turn Yasir is getting.
 
Almost 1 bad ball an over been bowled here. need to dry up the runs and apply pressure to the batsmen.
 
Silva can become Sri Lanka's Azhar, he has great patience and temparement. Rarely gets dismissed cheaply.
 
SL day only just, we will need to get early wickets tomorrow and do some damage with new ball once we get it during 1st session.
 
Missed the entire inning, as I turn on my streaming, the umpires call it a day :facepalm:. Decent day. SIlva should get a hundred from here.
