There is a good chance of us losing the game today if our problems with the spinner continues'

That would be some comeback on part of the Lankans

Junaid Khan to Chameera, 1 run, Shehzad at square leg allows the ball to go through his legs and gives a free run to Chameera

Shehzad and his extraordinary dives..:))):)))

Pakistan have to bat positively otherwise they'll bundle out cheaply. Maintain a good run rate need atleast 200 lead to give it a shot in 4th innings

Here we go, we're gonna need two big innings. Who will step up to the challenge?

Pakistan need to get a 400+ score here...Nothing in the pitch really

predict how many balls will Ahmed Shehzad last? I think 5-15.

Mathews  With a lead of 177 this is prime time to let your genuine pacer let loose. A couple of wickets here and Pakistan will crumble.

a dark cloud on horizon and wind picked up a rain interruption on cards.

Shahzad need to score big not having a good series at all

Pakistan's highest 3rd. Innings score is 320 at Colombo in 2009, if Pakistan Repeat that performance today, their bowler has some adventures otherwise home team will squares the series.

Pakistan one down for 9. HafeEz out off Angelo m.

We need a Misbah Younis special today and spend 2-3 sessions minimum at the crease

Hopefully Shehzad can get a 50 or more today though going by history he is likely to follow Hafeez sooj

Pakistan clearly on the backfoot, I was expecting a good opening partnership but unlike other teams Pakistan's middle order is the best in world cricket right now - Misbah, Younis, Sarfaraz, Shafiq.

Hafeez I hope doesn't clear his bowling action as he is simply not good enough

What opener doesn't know which ball to play at and which one to leave? Time and time again, Hafeez gets out in the same way. If his action gets banned, then he must be dropped or at least not have him open.

MoHa 'll be opening as long as Misbah is Captain, plain & simple - Ramiz couldn't answer, why with that sort of technique oHa is persisted with opening all these years.

Hafeez having another failure. Just when our opening problems looked solve they comeback with a bang.

Matter of time before hafeez and shehzad will be dropped from the team

Misbah really does love him and rates him highly..when he was struggling as an opener in the ODIs Misbah moved him down to no.3 which was a very surprising move..It only shows how much Misbah has trust on Hafeez as a batsman.

Come On guys was anyone expecting a century opening stand of 100+ from Shehzad and Hafeez. Neither of them is top level and atleast one is bound to go before score crosses 25 nine out of 10 times

Even a part time bowler like Matthews is able to generate swing but our main bowlers can't seem to move the ball even an inch. How we have fallen from days of Wasim and Waqar.

We need Babar Azam as an opener in the team. He should open with Azhar. Hafeez should be dropped for good and Shahzad should be dropped and only brought back when he sorts out his weaknesses.

yaar tu hamari side pe ha ya un ki?:13:

Just watching cricket. Tests matches are nothing without good captaincy so I criticize when such basic mistakes are made. Obviously I'd always want Pakistan to win.

I think, Misbah's personality trait is "loyalist". He is someone who 'll never confront, never take the tough call & never proactive. These type of leaders actually feels comfortable with "own man" around. It's not than Misbah doesn't care for the team, but he probably feels more comfortable with trusted players around - had his performance been remotely better, Ajmal would have continued for PAK in both format that Misbah led, MoHa, YK (in ODI), Asad, Azhar actually feel into that criteria.

One thing wanted to ask you is if you were watching they showed Hafeez Azhar and selfi in same frame..One thing which I noted was Selfie's bat comming from almost gully..

Is that an area of concern?? Or some batsman tend to do that and be successful?

I think, it hardly matters from where the bat comes, as long as at the contact point it's perpendicular to the bowling line (for maximum bat surface). Back lift is some thing for the power, but the placement comes from top hand & head position, while the timing from the coordination & balance - free swing of bat hitting the ball at perfect time, angle & spot; feet position & perfect transfer of body weight. I have seen lot of players for whom the bat comes not from a perfect position (Lara & now Smith comes to mind, Gilly as well & probably Panta at his prime), but these players had perfect balance & steady head at the time of contact. As I am typing, Ahmad probably played the shot of the match - a vertical bat squire drive on back foot.

Huh? He was your top scorer in the first innings.

But for hi, Pakistan would have faced a 200+ run lead.

I know that. But lets be honest. He has been getting out in similar fashion in most tests. he isnt a test match opener and good teams would exploit his weakness again and again regardless of the pitch. Plus he isnt bowling now .
