good move to have Sarfaraz do upto the ante

Hafeez looks good, Pakistan should be able to score something around 290 on such a flat belter and below par SL attack

320+ should be in mind. If Sarfraz and Hafeez get going then definitely 320+

Sarfraz to become the first Pakistani to score a double hundred in this match :afridi2

what makes you say that? Pak are well on their way to a 275+ target. Whatever the commies think batting will only get harder under lights. From here onwards the chance of an SL win is 35-40% i feel.

would still say 50-50. Azhar ali missing out don't help

See how charged up your fielders are. And dont be modest, you guys dont have a tail. even your 12th man can bat.

Plenty of time to go in the game. It was a close game by Pakistan despite the freak innings. If we field well and bowl better at kaushal, we should win this.

Sarfraz is good in middle overs keep on ticking the scoreboard

Had it been Sri Lanka batting, people would be complaining about giving easy singles

Pakistan lacks power hitters. Not a single genuine hitter in this Pak team, closest one is probably Hafeez.

But with this good start they might just inch towards 300.

In ODI actually, you don't need that level of power hitter (I am talking about 15-20 runs/over player). The key is to form partnership & shot productivity - any team going to 35th over with 8 wickets at hand & a shot productivity of 90%+ from there on 'll add another 130-140 even in revised playing condition.

Singles are very important - we actually don't have any brutal hitter, but can maintain a RR of 5~6 in first 40 overs with wickets at hand; almost every time teams 'll reach 300+ from there.

that would not be the best strategy. To think about targetting 320 would be suicidal as we have seen teams trying to score 350+ and falling well short. Look for 290 on an outfield this slow, and Pakistan will win 9 times out of 10.

Agree with this. Set batsmen at the 40th over will get you more than a basher coming in then.

Is it just me or hafeez is playing the ball that seam or cut quite comfortably today apart from this last delivery by perera.

I reckon we lack an "Afridi" or "Akmal" at the end of our lineup, otherwise outfield is irrelevant of a good batting track such as this when it comes to pinch hitting.

Such elegance from hafeez: both feet facing the bowler and stuck in cement while feeling around weakly his bat to a seaming delivery.

Rizwan will do it. Those two are theoretical power hitters.

Hafeez and Azhar's running reminded me of Yousuf and Inzi :)

Akmal clan should be kept from cricket as far as possible, I don't care who it is, they don't have the right attitude towards the game.

This is the longest I've ever seen Sarfy play without pummeling a four

Haven't really seen Rizwan power hitting, although he did pace himself well in 2nd ODI

Pakistan's power hitters flail around wasting balls playing his percentage cricket. Far better to to have 5 singles and a boundary.

After all these performances where ramizs darling sarfraz failed a few times even while opening he still insists azhar isnt a natural one day player. I like sarfraz but how can you say that about azhar

In this squad only bilal asif is capable of power hitting in the end overs.

Rameez goes by his narrative until a proper commentator comes and plants a different thought in him.

Not being modest..just honest..you saw how we struggled horribly even after a great start last match. You can't expect lightening to strike twice. If kusal fails our plethora of plodders in the top order will make sure that the target gets beyond the reach by the 30 th over. But let's see..
Is the newbie Imad an attacking, big spinner like Shah or is he just a darting container ?

Sarfraz needs to improve against pace! Not saying he needs to dominate pace as much as he dominates spin but still. And now ramiz admires a top edge!! That couldve been a damn catch and no he hasnt pulled it off ramiz

Hafeez is going to play a safe 50 and leave it for the others to do.

Imad is okay. Not what you would call a great wicket taker. His job would be to try to contain the batsman. He is more of an all rounder. Averages 41 in FC.

I might be too critical, but after 7 dots, a top edged 4 with a high risk shot in the 31st over, probably not the way Javed Miandad used to play...........................

Rameez tries so hard using difficult words to get his point across just to show he has grasp on English when in fact it makes him sound silly and his repetition doesn't help either.

Sri Lanka has two overs of spin and then it's all pacers (provided they don't bowl dilshan) and considering the aggressive lines they have bowled, all Pakistani batsmen are in for a challenge.

I swear ramiz praises sarfraz like the bengali commentators admire their players.

Just off track, BD boys have put 266/6 at Kingsmead & has got SAF boys 2/1 after 2 overs.

Sarfraz has been playing so effortlessly at almost 100 strike rate.

He's probably the best player of middle overs in the world and at rotating the strike.

Good to promote him.
