Kusal's wicket is very important. Pakistan have to get rid of him early unless he can give the momentum to Srilanka by hitting an inning like he did in last match.
 
Unlucky Ali gets a direct hit but still concedes a single with the ricochet off the stumps. Poor guy. :mv
 
Just get kaushal before sri lanka total reach fifty, and we shall be fine, and than just hope it's not one of those days when thishara go crazy.

At least they opened with Anwar - he 'll take the ball away from Kushal, forcing him to play across.
 
I am yet to see kaushal hit a boundery on a proper full length ball. He is damn good against short pitch stuff and we keep serving him that.
 
Anwar needs stop bowling at Dilshan's pads. Will get milked all day.

You know what, kusal even picks up the good length deliveries very early and plays them like short deliveries. Need to bowl to him in the corridor of uncertainty.

If our batting is better than our bowling we'll win more games tbh. Batting is more important than bowling, more so in LOI. Which I'm not complaining it's understandable when 7 are chosen for batting and all 11 potentially bat. When just 5 usually bowl.
 
Waquar himself was outstanding in bringing the ball into batsmen, I see the same for every PAK bowlers, but WY did it at 145KM, these guys are doing at 130KM. I don't think any team concedes so high % runs through on-side. None of the bowlers are making Kushal drive through the off side on front foot .....

Batting should be a lot better than our bowling in order to win more games than we lose.

+1. Most if not all Kushal's runs come from the leg side.
 
The comparisons with Pakistan's innings at same stage will be ugly for a few overs: you know, when Ahmed Shehzad was 'playing with intent'

You can't compare our approach to Lanka's. They like to attack in the initial overs and try to keep the rate in tact whereas Pakistan has more of an old-school approach, not losing any wickets and going all out in the end.

I am not sure, Ahmed shehzad was doing his best to rotate the strike or bash the ball, just did not have the game for it.

Personally, I think we've paced our innings perfectly well. Our bowling is weak, we need to take wickets instead of trying to bowl dots. This is where Azhar goes wrong, I think. We need more confident and wicket taking bowlers to open the innings.

Our batting lineup is well polished and doing really well.
 
No wicket takers in the team.
Supposedly irfan and yasir are the wicket takers but they have been atrocious so far. Wahab had to get injured in this important series :mv
 
Irfan just doesn't look potent on these surfaces anymore. Can't fault the selectors for persisting with him given the lack of resources, we are down to bare bones when it comes to pacers.
 
Pakistan is bowling better than the last match. Its a shame they start with obligatory rubbish ball. Wickets will come, keep it tight.
 
Is this a 300 run pitch ? Usually 300+ runs aren't scored in SL odi pitches.

Good athletes we got out in the field. Rizwan, Malik, Shehzad, Yasir.
 
Intelligent bowling from Anwar, mixing it up with that slower ball. Need a couple of early wickets and stop the SL fast start. Let scoreboard pressure build on them so their batsmen will throw their wicket away.
 
To be honest Anwar Ali has more potential than Irfan in Pakistan team.

Poster's have a self proclaimed dilemma that PAK bowling is good, it's the batting that let's them don't. Completely opposite - batsmen did enough in last 5/6 matches; it's the bowling that is been utter rubbish. MoHa had been the best bowler by some distance since WC. BD smashed 250s score inside 40 overs with 7/8 wickets at hand & even a depleted ZIM side posted 330, then was on their way to chase 300 in 3rd ODI.

What I see is utter rubbish bowling - no swing, no variation & no intelligence - OK Anwar just got one from a slower ball.
 
Imad might get tonked here you know, I've seen him bowl against Zim
 
Ramiz unaware that Kaushal is not "building a platform"
he is simply not getting the line this match to attack
 
Both the teams' bowling has been rubbish this series. We need Aamir and Ajmal back.

He's bowling wicket to wicket. People moan about him being a trundler but he does bowl a good line.
