Tasmania v Pakistan | Tour Match | Hobart | 19-21 Dec 09

aaaaaaand there it is, 1st session comes to a close

the opening pair remains unbeaten on 47...plenty of nervy moments for both batsmen, but they've stuck to the task and have not thrown it away just yet, albeit with some assistance from the Tasmanian fielders

Let's hope they can step it up a bit after lunch.

The last over was a good one.

Were they sprinting to the dressing room or busy giving high fives to everyone?

I dont see the problem with thi. Let them play, stay at the crease. SO what if the RR is slow, who cares? Our bowlers are already tired. Let the batters play as much as they can

I heard they both bowed 3 times in Chris Gayle style.

Tasmania would be pretty unhappy with that session, they would have expected a few wickets in the conditions against Asian batsmen.

Yeah I was a bit surprised to see those stats. Pretty decent.
That is what you get for batting on pan cake pitches. But its not their fault they get to bat on such lousy pitches.

Have you ever heard the score - 25 overs and 35 runs? (4-8 runs coming from edges going by commentary here)

Australian first class teams have been exposed :inti
Who is next

Exactly, they need to be out there as long as possible.

let's just lock the pavilion doors and tell them they'll only get to eat if they make 100 each

agar saary run ab bana liyai to test main kiya hoga? Batsmen and management has to be carefull. 30 runs by a player is something to cheer about and not wasted and abused. Did this commentary discuss the jubilation when they (meaning partnership) passed 30 run mark.

Consecutive triples.

I like where this is going.

RR gone up from 1.42 to 1.85 in the last 6 overs.

This is really great stuff from the Pak openers, I am quite excited for Salman Butt hope he can replicate his previous tour here...

Over 32.6: Geeves to Farhat, four runs, full, whipped off the pads through wide mid on, batsmen run four

:))) :))) That must be a huge ground that Butt and Farhat ran four.

Wicket: Imran Farhat replicates his average (or near enough).

Out for 32. Faisal Iqbal in.
Are you watching the stream? Cricinfo is still at 62 for 0

Please there is some serious research and development going on here. Dressing room is confused right now and they are waiting for the Ufone Rs 2.99 deal to kick in to get info. Sab kahe do

Over 35.5: MacDonald to Iqbal, FOUR, glorious off drive, smashed through the line

Over 35.3: MacDonald to Iqbal, SIX, Loads up and swings hard and high over cover, tremendous strike hits the fence on the full

Faisal opening up it seems

It looks like Yousuf is sitting this one out to give Fawad an opportunity to bat at #4 and get some time in the middle.

Over 35.4: MacDonald to Iqbal, no run, withdraws the bat outside off but it was already past the edge when he did

85-1 (36)

I think he should have played.

MacDonalds giving big macs to bhanja. Is this guy a spinner?

Naw fast medium bowler. shocking that Bhanja hit him for a six!!

I think alot of poster on PP have never played any decent cricket. Therefore the unncessary criticism...I think the time batsmen spend in the middle is crucial. Runs and RR are irrelevent in this game

First they thought it was Fawad Alam, then they changed it to Misbah...

Over 44.4: Drew to Khan Niazi, three runs, whipped through mid wicket
Over 44.3: Drew to Khan Niazi, no run
Over 44.2: Drew to Khan Niazi, no run
Over 44.1: Drew to Khan Niazi, no run
:)))

Over 45.3: Krejza to Khan Niazi, SIX, lofted high over mid wicket, lands on the hill in frontg of the scoreboard

:six for :misbah

I say we draft Khan Niazi into the team. He can't be worse then Misbah. :)))

Where the heck did they get that name from? Random.

I never knew that was his full name. Although it seems the commentators are completely out of touch with how everyone else says his name. :)))

Perhaps this "name change" will make him a better player?

The NZ commentators pronounced it...

Miss-baaiiiiiih :misbah

For a minute I got excited. Khan Niazi, new batting sensation flown in from Pakistan like Inzi and Waqar were included in the team.

:))) :)) :))

I knew Aus commentators would make such a stupid mistake like this, and I didn't get excited cuz I had looked at his CI profile before and knew his full name :misbah

Something always wierd happens to Misbah!

Remember that practise match against SL in CT? Where CI was saying that Misbah was bowling the 1st over and getting hit. And it was actually Rana Naved wearing his jumper!

:)))

Over 49.4: Krejza to Butt, FOUR, slog sweep over mid wicket, skied high but still has enough legs to roll into the rope

What the heck is that supposed to mean?
