The BCCI-PCB MoU Battle : Pakistan’s case is strong but the ICC is unlikely to rule in their favour

PCB has a no case and it should not be given any compensation at all.Why should PCB get rewarded for not doing anything, relationship between countries come first and unless they are settled there is no point in bilateral series.

PCB is free to boycott any matches against India in multi nation tournaments if it feels it has been wronged but India will continue to play Pakistan only in multinational tournament until Border situation improves.

PCB is not responsible for relations between 2 countries. Its job is cricket.

Similarly it is not BCCI's fault if govt of India does not give permission to the series.

People are pointing it out unless Border tensions are removed, no cricket. So BCCI should know, the issue is not smaller one, this issue might not even resolved in our lifetime. BCCI must be clear on that cricket or NO cricket unless Kashmir issue gets resolved. Its because of their dishonesty and lies that PCB had to adopt legal channels. Why to commit on something if you think Govt. would interfere.

True, PCB was opportunistic during Big 3 vote. But, at that time nobody forced BCCI to sign the letter, they should have said NO, and should have made it clear at ICC level that they can not engage in any cricketing event with Pakistan until this Kashmir dispute gets resolved. Making equivocal statements like "We want to play?", "Now we don't want to play?", "We now need govt. clearance? " , "They can come to India, we cant send our team outside India" forced PCB to file the case.

Soldiers die from both sides. No soldier is bigger than the others.

It is not BCCI's fault if PCB does not understand that every series that is played by Indian test team has to be approved by Govt of India. Like any other Government which give their respective boards a permission before series is actually played, FTP has nothing to do with Govts.

ICC and Boards create FTP and each tour is then given persmission by their respective boards a green signal just before series is played. So PCB is trying to be too smart to dictate BCCI terms.

Make things clear. Cricket or NO cricket. Sitting on the fence never helps. Have you ever done a business deal with someone who says, ok I will commit, then says we can't, we probably will.. this hurts business interests.

After all boards primary target is to generate revenues for development of cricket. And if some board does this nonsense of giving false commitments, it hurts them financially.

Boards are not ultimate authority to decide if the series is played or not why can't you get that simple fact. You are going on and on about some irrelvant things.

So you mean PCB should write letter to GoI to give BCCI permission. Just like your employer does not care if you family members are sick or not, or whether you had your lunch or not. They just want to get the job done.

Then why they sign it? Why not host ICC meetings in parliament..

If they don't sign it they cannot go to govt for seeking permission, is that so hard to understand.

FTP is drawn for four years and every board signs it, does it mean every series will be played like in FTP.The answer is no, that FTP is just basic frame work upon which actual series and their itineraries are created.

Bangladesh was supposed to host Australia in 2015 but Australian govt did not give permission so that tour did not happen, it happened on in 2017 after Australian govt gave them green signal.

Bangladesh was supposed to travel Australia as per FTP but Australian board cancelled it , is BCB going to court for it.Atleast it has case since no govt is involved in it.

PCB wants Bangladesh to tour Pakistan instead of hosting in UAE, so how is that correct atleast no govt is involved there, it is utter disrespect to BCB's players that their lives matter less that players from Australia or England.

PCB is not employer of BCCI.So your argument is invalid.

But that is not written in the letter, is it hard to read and understand

Let the verdict come and everyone knows which way it will go and then ppl can show their legal knowledge and give tons of logic which will be ultimately irrelevant as the ppl at ICC wont go as per what pper's have to say. Even Nazam Sethi can make a hue and cry through his media after that. Some ppl r not satisfied even with Supreme court's verdict and this is just a matter in the ICC.

The verdict is not likely to happen very soon. I am guessing that there will be a lot of behind the scenes type thing and maybe a face-saving thing will come out.

Forget Indo-pak series for a minute, just give us Indians-Mohammad Abbas, the guy is a brilliant bowler. The guy can swing the ball on an unhelpful pitch with deadly accuracy. He was the main destroyer in England with the duke ball but on a Dubai track he has shown what a class act he is. It defies logic for him not to be included in their limited overs setup. He will be a handful in English conditions for the World Cup next year.

So do their lives matter more than Zimbabwe or West Indian players? Or how about the players involved in World xi? BCB's stance is disrespect to those players as well.
FYI prominent Bangladeshi players play in the PSL and have no problem touring Pakistan

Guys stay on topic pls

Let's see what the outcome is.

I'd be surprised if the ICC rules against BCCI.

When is the last time India fulfill its promise to Pakistan?

Oh!!! We already have a conspiracy thread!!!

So Pakistan was right and all the decision makers did not spell it out because it is the mighty Indians.

Pathetic even by Pakistani conspiracy theories standards.

Oh we have been away from the forum for a while and didnt read this thread which was made weeks ago

How are people coming to conclusion without even reading the verdict of Committee. The committee verdict is in 26 pages which gives reasons for their verdict. Please go through the 26 pages and understand the content before commenting. If one comments without reading and understanding the finding then that comment is of little merit.

They are certainly taking their time. Serious disagreements within the panel perhaps, or case more technical than what it appeared on the face of it?

Check out BCCI's website, they have paid an astonishing 4 million USD to Herbert Smith.

Pakistan's case has been dismissed.

It was expected really. "Promises" and "understanding" dont mean anything in legal world. BCCI has won the battle even if they were unethical about the whole thing.

Yet another dispute between PCB and BCCI. Last time it did not go well for the PCB.

PCB should be careful with a legal battle this time.
If Pakistan/ PCB only take decision based on emotions rather ground realities than don't think they will gain anything.
