In odi's number 8 is vital, we have seen Plunkett in the world cup final hitting that much needed boundary over midwicket, H Singh hitting some blows in the 2002 natwest series final, Bichal staying there with Bevan in the 2003 World Cup

1) Pollock
2) Wasim
3) Warne
4) Plunkett
5) Bichal
6) Vettori
7) Vass
8) Agarkar-thinking of his sixes in the TV5 2003 final, 2004 CT vs Pak
9) Qadir
10) H Singh

Who are according to you?

I think Vettori and Vass should be higher.

Chris Woakes deserves to be mentioned as well. He is a proper batsman.

IF we ae talking about test cricket then it has to be mark boucher or daniel vettori, both did significantly better at number 8 compared to their overall careers.

Ashwin, if we're including tests?

We saw a fair bit of Razzaq in at 8 iirc. Though he did float around and come up the order depending on the situation.

And look at impact innings like the 1992 world cup final with Wasim batting 6. I’ll take Akram any day.

Sorry, was thinking about test cricket. In ODI very close for me, Akram more explosive but Vettori better at building a partnership
