The stage is set for the Pakistan vs England 3-Test Match series 2024

The grass is back, and it's looking lush! Will this green track prove advantageous for Pakistan's pace attack or will England's batters rise to the challenge?

Lets not be fooled by subcontinent grass. It usually burns off quickly under sun.

Anyway the only decision for Pak is Shaheen vs Mir Hamza.

England has a non-existent bowling. Woakes poor bowler in these parts. Then three noobs. England will rely on scoring quickly and use that as a pressure.

Pak should have let eng in for batting. Eng will beat the crap out of any team on batting pitches.multan will not detoriate much to put eng in trouble

Pakistan may be worried about getting outbatted. ALso will have to bat last.

If England wants to draw inspiration they have to draw from Bangladesh who stuk to their line and length.

Shan Masood said, on the eve of the toss of 1st Test:

"We asked for a good cricket wicket."

"Looking at a pitch with a noticeably green tine."

"Like you see with both XIs, everyone's stacked in the batting department. We want to change things, we want to get back on track - we're looking to do so with this group of players."

Ollie Pope: "The conditions are probably the hottest I've played in! We would have had a bat too - but there's a little bit of moisture in the pitch so we're hoping to make the most of it first."

Fake "green pitch" It is a placid wicket by the look of it. Batsmen just hit through the line already.

If pak continues with these kind of atrocious pitches, teams should play with hard leather ball for more bounce and excitement .it's beyond ridiculous see that bounce on a green tinged pitch in first few overs

It's Pakistan. The pitch is going to be flat. The only hope is that it starts to deteriorate by Day 4 and 5.

Apparently, the grass was shaved off before the toss and I assume this pitch will start turning after two days.

Bazid Khan during commentary on Day 1 of 1st Test between Pakistan and England:

"The last Test played here was Pakistan v England, and Abrar got a 11-fer. But it's a different look to the pitch this time. There's a lot of grass But if you have a closer look, it's still quite dry. That means the grass is there to help the pitch remain intact. There might be seam, swing up front. But I reckon spinners will have a role to play".

I think we need to wicket till England innings to really ascertain the real nature of pitch.

how can curators not figure it out, grass does not make a pitch conducive to seam bowling, grass on a hard surface makes it conducive as the ball bounces with true pace. you put grass on a road and it only makes it better to bat on as a low bouncing track becomes true paced, and does not deteriorate like a non-grassy pitch.

pakistan never had pitches conducive to fast bowling, it had rough bare pitches, with rough bare squares and reverse swing until the pitches fell apart, somewhat, and some spin came into the game. without reverse swing you cannot have test cricket in Pakistan. you can make the flattest pitch in the world, but replace the boundary Toblerone with some bricks and you'll have way better test cricket.
