The PakPassion debate - Put down your name to take part in one-on-one debates with other members

I wanted to see Mamoon and MMHS in these debates but I guess both of them are super busy during these troubled times.

Also, once debate ends might be a good idea to have a poll where others can vote who won in their opinion, just for bragging rights :). MenInG

Haha - yes should be some fun when things calm down

My stance is that Hasan Ali should be in the radar rather than sidelining him.

I worry about Hasan Ali.

He had a brief successful period with the white ball, but he was unable to consolidate that because a fast bowler who is 5’8 in height has no margin for error in terms of the length he bowls. Really every inch under 6’0 you need to be twice as skilled, and I can’t remember any successful Test fast bowler as short as him - he makes Steyn and Marshall look like Curtly Ambrose or Mohammad Irfan.

I don’t understand what is wrong in the junior coaching system in Pakistan that someone doesn’t take short men like Hasan Ali and Musa Khan to one side and tell them that they are wasting their time, they have no prospect of a successful international career.

Having said that, I don’t think that all is lost for Hasan Ali. In my opinion when Pakistan plays in SENA they will require 2 pace bowling all-rounders to support Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah. For me, Hasan Ali needs to work like a madman on his batting to compete with Faheem Ashraf, who is almost as short, for the Number 8 position. His potential role is as half a batsman and half a bowler, the fourth seamer.

Hasan Ali has obviously been excessively influenced by the slogging of Shahid Afridi. But if he can learn to knuckle down and defend properly he could be a decent Test number 8.

My mind is just not in right place for any debate now with the situation - our close family is spread out across globe - Toronto, NY, LA, Boston, London, Sydney and obviously Bangladesh. Each of these places are now in red zone .....

if you are 5'8n you need to bowl 135 plus no matter what with accuracy.

guys like jamieson can get away with bowling 130 but not guys under 5'11.

Guys this thread just to put down your names for debates etc.

Need more brave people to step up!

Just a personal point of view but you should let people chose their debate if none of those in the opening post interest them.

Some of them will never be debated I think, for example, Is VK an all time great, who do you think believe he isn't or he will not be? No one.
Is Saeed Anwar Pakistan best opener? I mean no one will come and say, no it's Imran Farhat. There is no other options in the last 60 years. So don't see anyone taking this debate either.

Same for some others on that list.

Then, I may be wrong, and these debate may be interesting, just that I don't find them interesting.

We will add some more topics later.

However as we can see, what one person feels is a good topic may not be one that other one wants, its difficult to match everyone's favourites

I would say you suggest a topic you like and we can see who else likes it then we can see how it goes?

Can you indicate are you against or for?

Apologies for the late reply chief, would like to argue AGAINST the Power of the Big 3 being justified. Would like to give the option of opening the debate to the other person
