So we all had high hopes for some players based on hype/expectation/personal likes etc but they didnt do as well.

A few examples

Mohammad Amir
Sharjeel Khan
Mohammad Hafeez
Martin Guptill
Azam Khan
Faf du Plessis
Fakhar Zaman

....

So who makes it to your list of flop-masters of PSL 6?

Rossouw has been way below par but he still has 1 more chance of making it a good season for him.

Another one is Haris Rauf.

Azam Khan and Haider Ali. Both got plenty of chances but couldn’t even play one innings of substance.

Haider and Azam Khan. Both picked for the national team, both have completely flopped. Haider to the point where he’s not even in the playing XI any longer.

Amir took 1 wicket in the UAE leg of the tournament. And that too came when the game was essentially done and dusted and Karachi were on their way out. The only way he could have made a worse case for World Cup selection was if he took zero wickets...and he wasn't far off!

Haider Ali for me. I can remember a couple of years ago debating about the merits of a batsman (can't remember who it was now) and Mamoon offered Ali as a better alternative. I had my doubts having watched him in the PSL 2nd season and those doubts have proven justified. All hype and no end product.

I think it’s easier to list players who didn’t flop.

Shoaib Maqsood
Shoaib Malik
Hazratullah Zazai
Babar Azam (to some extent)
Mohammad Rizwan
Noor Ahmed
Rashid Khan
Shahnawaz Dahani
Shaheen Afridi (Although a crap death over bowler)
Colin Munro
Wahab Riaz

The rest were crap.

Mohammad Amir who had an average of 69.8 and went 169 deliveries without taking a wicket has to be up there.

Haider Ali personally was the biggest let down.

Don't think anyone with slight amount of cricket knowledge was expecting Azam Khan lighting up the tournament.
Fakhar did well in the first leg of the tournament though.

1. Shimron Hetmyer
2. Rohail Nazir(was expecting him to do well)
3. Zahid Mehmood (thankfully the bubble of him being a good leggie burst up)
4. Shadab (it's become irritating seeing him lead the side. Hides out when the batting side is on top, and is always promoting himself at no.3 or no.4 without being a credible batter)
5. Waqas Maqsood (Had a poor tournament after having a good previous season)
6. Amir
7. Imad (awful tournament)
8.Ben Dunk (Was painful wathing him bat)
9. Colin Ingram

Imran Khan was beyond impressive.
No one expected Irfan to be this economical at this stage of his career.
Hassan Ali has been very good as well.
Asif Ali exceeded expectations.
Iftikhar has been quite consistent.
Imran Tahir has been on fire.
Tim David (probably the most consistent batter of the second leg)
James Faulkner (bowled impressive spells)
Alex Hales was the guy during the first leg.

Some big names flopped badly didn't they.

The worrying thing is that most of them were Pakistani and in the current T20 squad.

Mohammad Nawaz : Managed to pick up only 6 wickets in 9 games and scored 109 runs at an average of 15.

Should have done better.

Some of the flops were on the fringes too which is great news. No more endless Amir threads or discussions about Haider Ali's potential.

If we can get rid of the deadwood (Sharjeel, Azam Khan, Shadab, Mehmood) from the squad before the WC, the team will start looking ok.

Hafeez - especially as given his successful track record in previous PSL tournaments and ICC T20 events , most fans including myself had expected at least a couple of centuries and four or five 50s..

In the end it was all a bit disappointing for us Hafeez fans - his stats are definitely an underachievement for a player of his class.

Dale Steyn. Economy rate of 9.18 for QG. Smashed around with ease.

Ben Cutting. Economy rate of 12.68 and a batting average of 9.80.
