Despite what was predicted, right-wing extremists are not taking over Europe and the rest of the West. Extremist parties did poke their heads out of their caves for a little bit but not a day goes by without news of another bigoted and xenophobic political party getting swept aside in favor of more inclusive and liberal options. Canada leading the charge, followed by Austria, the Netherlands and now France and England. Polls also predict that Germany will not embrace the shadows either.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump continues to show everyone why electing bigots like him to public office is a bad, bad idea. Sad!

The irony from the OP is at all time levels. Considering your own views on society this is pretty funny on how you're celebrating right wing 'extremists' losing. Anyways they're not losing completely yet but they are starting to realise that a well educated society isn't easy to fool for too long. Eventually it was going to fall like we are seeing now.

Unfortunately, they have won comprehensively here in the east especially Muslim majority states like Pakistan but then I'm assuming right wing Islamic extremists don't get lumped in the same bracket as the likes of Le Pen, Trump and Farage despite the former being ten times worse.

Love and Hope will always win over Hate and Fear because the latter always end up consuming their purveyors.

As an illustration I campaigned on behalf of Eleanor Smith the new black female Labour MP representing Wolverhampton South West. For those of you who don't know Wolverhampton South West was the old constituency of the racist Enoch Powell who made the infamous 'rivers of blood' speech. Many people have commented how poignant it is that that constituency now has a Black female MP. Old Enoch would be spinning in his grave. His small band of followers know they have lost and will keep on losing.

Europe has experience with Nazism. Most Europeans are good people with a conscience.

The world is moving to the right.

The far right and extreme right dominate the Muslim world, with large swaths of support.

The right is also prevalent in Asia and Africa.

In that context Europe doesn't seem so bad. But make no mistake about it, Europe is drifting further and further to the right and we're probably not far off from a genocide.

It's not really a surprise to see the right wing losing support throughout Europe, Britain looks like suffering the fallout of Brexit over the longer term, and other countries are probably pulling back from the brink if they've seen the negative vibes it has caused after the initial euphoria wore off. This is the first world, the developed nations have too much to lose by going backwards, I think it is wrong to compare them with third world countries which have never reached the heights of multicultural vanguard nations.

The white far rightwingers gained momentum in South Africa during the last 3 years but most whites openly became racists after Trump became president

Today large number of white South Africans are proud and openly racist towards blacks and non Christians

Rightwing military camps are starting up all over South Africa

The video below is 2 years old but that racist camp was one of the first of the many rightwing camps we have today

Same as every desi in the east if elections in India are anything to go by. Can't really speak for Pakistan as I'm not really sure there's an alternative.

Definitely.
Although many supported Trump in the US elections this time so maybe things are changing from Indian perspective. For bad.

The cognitive dissonance in many aspects is alarming to say the least.

This :))

This is the same OP who yesterday was calling me intolerant for defending the person sentenced to death in Pakistan for alleged blasphemy and the same OP who yesterday was telling others how the ''convict'' shouldn't be killed but should be jailed for a ''bit'' and given a ''dhulai'', which he later clarified as being ''roughed up''. And the same OP now claiming the right-wing extremists are losing, when he is one of them.

You couldn't make this up. :))

This post needs a medal for truth. :))
