Early days but if he continues like this 4-5 years he could definitely be an all time great.anyone whos hating on pant is a pure HATER. Probably the biggest match winner in test cricket ATM.
Hes gonna end up being an ATG is things keep going this way.

And that's not how things work in life. He is in good form and making the most of it currently.![]()
Long way away for ATG but as of now he and Rohit are performing better than Rahane, Pujara and Kohli
If* key word lol.

Safe to say Pant is a product of IPL? I mean Ranji can't teach you the audacity of reverse sweeping Jimmy Anderson with new ball. This mindet and fearlesness is what IPL has infused among young cricketers. Just brilliant.
Pant's innings always leaves me with a feeling of 'Why did you have to do that !!!" regardless of single digit score or a ton. Had an opportunity to kill off Eng but now left with match still in balance. If anything Eng is shading. Still a breathtaking innings under pressure. India owes a lot to him for atleast being in this position.

How many subcontinental batsmen struck centuries on their first tours of England and Australia? Exactly.
He'll be a monster in subcontinent and well above average elsewhere. A 45+ test average bat, but most importantly, his runs will be impactful.
We were also told by Pant fans that he can play as a batsman alone.![]()
)
This guy. How's he *always* wrong?
but he cant bowl so his batting doesnt count
He has to keep well to keep getting selected in this team though. He is enjoying his good form currently but this is cricket nothing is constant. His and his fans real test will be when he fails in 2-3 series which is also part of cricket.![]()
Lol Pant is our best batsman in recent times.
Bhai you are digging a bigger hole for yourself
Just accept you were 100% wrong and move on.
Still doesnt matter.
He has shown his skills and fans were right to back him.
Had they listened to you, we wouldnt have had Aus series win and you would have been harping on the asterix win lol.

because you love him a lot. secretly you wish that he goes on to score a triple ton.![]()
You are saying it now because he is in good form. Once he goes through bad form you lot will be the first one to curse him and his family. Just like you guys did with yuvi, dhoni and countless other indian players. At least I don't cross my line when it comes to criticising a player. And I keep it to cricket only.![]()
Nah we have backed him even when he wasnt performing.
And after his centuries in Eng and Aus first tour, all doubts should have been cleared.
But you had other ideas.
Thats why i said had we listened to you, there would be no aus series win and we would have had to listen to your asterix jibes lol.
As for yuvi and dhoni...
Theres a difference between backing a youngster and asking an over the hill oldie to retire.
Heck due to dhoni, yuvi and other oldies we lost 3 silverwares (wt20 2014, ct 2017 and wc 2019
If Rahane makes the team as a batsman then so does Pant.He is playing as a wicketkeeper batsman and if he stops keeping wicket he won't make it into this team.
Rishabh Pant is already India's greatest test wicket keeper batsman of all-time in my opinion.
He has led his team to a test series win in Australia, a feat that no other Asian batsman has achieved as standout keeper batsman and has delivered a special performance vs England in this series-decider.
An outstanding test match player and a huge match winner.
If Rahane makes the team as a batsman then so does Pant.
Also I don't agree with you blaming Dhoni for Indian losses especially in WC 2019 where the real villains were Pant and Pandya for our semi final loss.![]()
It is not about listening to me or anyone here. We are here for discussion not to influence Indian team selections. It has nothing to do with backing youngster when the time comes Pant will be criticised by the same guys who are overhyping him. I already saw a little trailer of this when he was dropped from LOI sides and Saha was picked over him in tests. These same guys are now back again supporting him lol.

"Villains" for trying to consolidate after losing 4 early wickets lol.
I'm a regular viewer. Not a member of the selection committee. Ask that question to them.Forget Pant for a second, what about Pandya? The same thing was said about him too that he can make it into this Indian team as a batsman alone. Why is he warming the bench and not playing ahead of Rahane who isn't in good form?
Pant is currently doing good as a wicketkeeper batsman but to stay in this team and play over any specialist batsman he has to continuously improve his keeping.

Oh and I've always thought test cricket will be his best format, a bit like Sehwag, who was a better test batsman than an ODI batsman.
He clearly has a great hand eye coordination, and he doesn't attack every ball but waits for the balls in his zone to pounce on them, and test cricket sort of allows that to happen while the fast pace of LOI cricket doesn't allow you the same leeway. Me personally, as long as he's performing in test cricket, I couldn't give a damn if he flops in LOI cricket altogether.

I get your views.
You are wrong on all counts tho.
Blaming Pant and Pandya for wc 2019 loss?

No wonder you have got it wrong so bad.
Introspect mate.
So how was Dhoni villain in 2019 Semi Final?![]()

Bhaag viru bhaag has a coin toss to see whom to love or hate.
Rishabh - hate
Prithvi - love
Pandya - hate
After deciding, he sticks to it regardless of facts or logic.
I didn't call Dhoni a villain. You called Pant and Pandya the "real villains". Maybe you should do the explaining.![]()
So you are so shameless you would blame a 21 year old playing his first world cup for a semi final loss and not a veteran who hung on too long and played too slow?

Show me one thread where I said I love, worship, idolize or overhype Shaw? I just questionned those who were ridiculing him after 2-3 failures but giving endless opportunities to others. I wanted him to get equal number of opportunities as others are getting. That is not love or overhyping. I also exposed the hypocrisy of someohe like Indiafan who asked me to not criticise a talented youngster like Pant but didn't utter a single word when some fans were criticising Shaw after his failures in the first test against Aus where almost everyone failed.
It's always a good tactic when you can't counter anything just put words in other's mouth.![]()
And all the indian posters told you why Shaw had to be dropped for his own good due to a glaring technical issue which prevented him from defending even simple deliveries (in IPL let alone test cricket).
You heard it and then proceeded to completely ignore the point and kept harping about "backing him" with no regards to reasoning and context.
Where were you guys when I said exact same thing about KL Rahul that he needs to be dropped from test side for his own good after last England tour? He flopped in the West Indies series and finally dropped after that. Was I wrong there? Do you know what your fellow fans said at that time? They said "what will he learn in domestic? He should continue to be in the Indian squad and keep playing for India". When it came to Shaw you guys switched the logic and wanted him out of the team immediately. Once again I am exposing the hypocrisy of you guys here not supporting Shaw. You guys have two rules for two different players. You hype one guy to the moon and discard others like a tissue paper after 2-3 bad outings.![]()
Well on his way to becoming the GOAT WK batsman. He is three levels above all other WK batsmen in the world today.
It is not their fault because he is a once in a century talent. You will have to wait for a hundred years to see a player of his talents emerge.
This drama of him being a poor WK will also end in tears. Give him a couple of years and he will be the best WK in the world as well.
Actually KL's case was different.
He did hav an issue but it wasnt as glaring as Shaw and due to his past performance, people expected him to come good.
Which he did in final test in eng.
But when he continued his poor form in Aus, fans were ok with him being dropped.
Shaw on the other hand couldnt last 3 deliveries so fans asked him to be dropped.
Or else they would hav backed him too.
You aint exposing anyone's hypocrisy mate.
You might think that way in your mind but you are just exposing yours with false equivalences, and inconsistent logic.
Your inability to perceive why we lost 2019 WC whej you have a mountain of match data leading upto it speaks volumes.
Not meaning to be rude but keep thinking you are being the right one whereas everyone else are idiots...i am sure there will be some "wonderful" posters (as scarce few as they might be) who will cheerlead you and give you a false sense of you being in the right.
Some introspection would do a world of good bud.
