Hoping to see a good performance from Mansoor Amjad. Btw emclub Raza Hassan is not in Staliions team.
 
Come On Stallions. Hoping to see a blistering performance from ALI KHAN, really want to see him as a part of Pakistan team.
 
Sialkot Stallions win their first game with a thumping 9 wicket win, good performance by bowlers especially Sarfraz Ahmed

and most importantly captain fantastic leading from the front :ss

The guy did nothing last tournament, and we didn't know whether he was a batsman or bowler. He was just taking up space. Truth is, Abdur Rehman and Hasan Raza are better bowlers than him, hence he's kept out.

I think Malik should still open the innings if Nazir is back. It'll add to the stability!

does anyone know why is his brother Adeel Malik not playing this year? he is not in their squad either

That all depends on Imran Nazir.

If he bats atleast 10 overs then I can safely say that Sialkot will win

Most of the people are still unaware of one name & that name is ALI KHAN, Let me tell u guys I have seen him playing in Sialkot, beware of this man, he can change the game within few overs.:AAG

Fair enough. If either man bats atleast 10 overs then we should have this one in the bag

yeah he did let him bowl, at adeel Malik's expense, who was playing as a full time bowler. Even with the few overs Adeel had, he still did pretty well with the ball. There was little sense playing both of them in the team really, we should have played one or the other.

39 in one game being his highest score isn't exactly remarkable, especially since he was batting as an opener.

Now both Mansoor and Adeel are out of the team, and it's probably for the best. Hasan Raza's a better bowler than both of them.

Adeel was playing only cause of his brother, he only picked 2 wickets.

he bowled at a good economy throughout. Has a bowling average of 14.85 in T20. Around the same as Mansoor Amjad with 14.71. Adeel Malik arguably showed more potential as a limited overs batsman too. His batting average in T20 is slightly higher, but Adeel's got an average of over 40 with four half centuries in ODIs, while Mansoor amjad has a low average and four half centuries in over 100 games opposed to Adeel's 14.

There wasn't much between them really. Either could have played, and in the end both did. Now with Raza, both are pretty much redundant.

I am in same view that Nazir would be better off as a middle order...He can't open!

I think his strategy was ok, Shakeel and Shahid Yousuf played really well, not much could have been done.

aren't you out of the tournament. I've read cricinfo fixtures and it says it goes straight to the semi finals. The winners of each group play each other.

Sounds disgraceful though, it's like pitting Federer and Nadal both in the first round. Lahore lions and the Stallions did more than enough to assure that they'd be in separate groups for this tournament.
 
Yep straight to semis, its :ss v :le in the first semi-final.

can't really complain about the format...groups are ridiculous though.

I liked the format last year. Less teams playing. Made sure the likely scenario should be the top 4 teams in the semis. Which always should be the intended result, or a team has to do something pretty special and knock out one of those top teams. Those in Group A didn't have to even beat a top team. This grouping ensured we won't have all the top 4 teams in the semis.

Too many teams this year I feel. And no room for error and improvement. I remember Stallions still got to the semis when they lost to the Lions.

Hope they go back to the original format next year. The lesser strength teams should play off in order to gain qualification to Faysal Bank tournament. I think that's fair.

Have to appreciate their commitment.
They have the most "serious" drills before the start of the match.
And they are undoubtedly the best fielding side in the country. They don't have any lazy players.
 
Wish Sarmad Anwar was there for Sialkot :D

What no Super 6 or 8? Stupid format

Can someone explain to me why Raza Hasan is now playing for Sialkot? How does the selection process work?

I wonder why he did not stay with Pindi, looks like they are building something special.
