Peshawar has developed at an insane rate in the last few years when it comes to things to do. Its better than Pindi in all aspects now and less dull than Islamabad but the latter is a better place to live due to various reasons.

Its a paindoo word, don't use it. :msd

What is wrong with you, its not paindoo!

Its just too- colloquial. Too informal. Extra informal...

The kind of informal used by lafangay larkay/biker boys in the street..

Not technically paindoo..

OK. I see what you did there..

That is definitely not true. How did you come up with that conclusion? :rana

Pakistani biker boys are paindoo :msd

A lot of paindoos are found here:D

And those standing on the gates of girls colleges, yakh,I hate them..But I never see anyone outside my college, because there are guards to secure the college

YES :'D

Are you from Lahore too? :D

Depends a lot on where you were based/what area you lived in..

I could say this is the case in most of Gulberg/Model Town/Shadmaan area..

No way in hell in Defence/Cantt! There lifestyle is completely modern, posh, Westernised..

I live in Lahore DHA and my views are on basis of that.

Hahaha. That is so ridiculous. :msd

What do you you study in urdu?

Urdu is very similar to English for us. There are various stories and comprehensions, along with grammar and creative writing(essays and articles).

I am sorry for derailing the thread with this post. You can carry on with your conversation.:danish:iqasim

Yeah I can imagine!

Thankfully there was nothing like that in my school t oo!

Its a problem everywhere though!

Most are. I know people here too. :P

The guys at school are just weird.

I didn't intend to offend anyone.

None taken, it was just too broad a generalisation.

Some are. Believe me, not most, and definitely not all :)

Mall Road is very famous for all these paindoos is'nt it. I'm surprised there have'nt been any accidents given the way the bikers pull off their tricks.

Never mind bro,you can join us!

Our Urdu is,huh, don't ask..The toughest part is "Ashaar ki tashreeh" but I must say we are taught very good Urdu.

Coming from someone who hates stereotypes. How ironic. :P

Weird as... Weird. Don't know how to describe them.

It's like, I don't know. Not my type.

Are you American, by any chance? :msd That's how they would respond to such queries, generally :P

The ones who go biking like crazy on 14th August? :ahmed

Honestly, I feel like slapping ALL of them!

Yeah, you can say so. American born and bred, in a way. That's why I asked what country you're in.

Ah.. So I figured :)

I better go study too... My teacher will be so disappointed if she finds out what I've been doing all this time.

She's expecting me to outclass the whole world in biology.

So, if I might add something on the conversation you were having:

"Shugalmela" doesn't sound like a decent word.:facepalm::ibutt

Lahore and Faisalabad are the best cities in Pakistan(I am biased here:P).

^^ For all the law and order and political crap that goes on here, Karachi is still the most TAFREEH city (if not the best) believe me =D
I guess the turmoils add to its flavors.

Okay 96NO what is there to do for tafreeh in Karachi? Like what are the hotspots to visit.

Yummm.

Chicken Lasagna is better than beef one but still it was awesome. Had two glasses of Pepsi as well. :inzi

Nobody here leads a healthy lifestyle.

The sheer volume of South Asian men - Pakistani women over 35 with high cholesterol/coronary heart disease/diabetes/high BMI in my hospital is astounding. All from sedentary lifestyle of no exercise whatsoever and incessant amount of fatty/high sodium/sugar daily diet intake of red meat cooked in concentrated-clarified butter and mountain of rice.

Interesting observation, Saqs-bhai..

Though I wouldn't write of sense of place entirely. Perhaps in the capacity of a foreign worker, it is different - you can settle down and be comfortable in your routine, know all the places, etc... But to shift your entire perception of home from one country to a completely different country is not that simple (nor so painless)..

Yeah I didn't mean the entire paradigm shift of forgetting the roots and your home country.

But in the sense that it is quite easy to fall into a routine and really just make a living no matter where you are.

One need not be anchored to one place.

After all, we're all travelers right?

Are you back in Pakistan?

Yeah, been back for the better part of a year and loving it.

In between UAE/KSA/ISB but still.

It is closer than Aus.

Exactly, but not a word against rice. I am a proud rice-eater and refuse to believe it causes any problems. :P

Even if it does, it's waaay better than the garbage people eat these days. Overweight people, especially teens, everywhere, and if they're not about to pop, they're because they basically starved themselves. No concept of any exercise, they just take the shortcut. Don't even bother to walk to their neighbor's house.

Not exactly watching because of the timings, and since I have exams, but keeping up... Starting the semis, anyway. :P
